He was born in 1943 which will make him 80 today and this was made maybe ten years ago. Still impressive and I’m a huge Walken fan. Check out Frankie Valle he just turned 86 and is still doing full shows. It’s amazing.
Thank you for this. I wasn't even a big fan when it came out when I was a teenager, but it was just such an amazing video, it's something you'd never forget. I've always been curious about the details.
Facts of life: When this was shot, Christopher Walken terrified me. Now?? I gobble this sly irony like manna. Love when you can come back to a vid like this and it’s still urgently fresh.
This habit came from growing up with immigrants that barely knew English and had to pause before each words because they where searching for it/translating in their head. Funny it became his trademark.
So I have been a huge fan of Christopher Walken for many years. I'm also fond of Fat boy and Spike Jones I always loved this video . And since September I have lived at this hotel. It's part of an initiative called project room key to keep people from becoming homeless during covid. Since so many hotels were empty cause 8f the lockdown someone was smart enough to offer to lease the hotels instead of having empty buildings. It's surreal to me still.. I have never been homeless before but I lost my job due to covid and lost my home due to my lawyer messing up and not filing a waiver he was supposed too. That forced me into court unprepared. I was beside myself I had no idea where I was gonna land but I was very lucky to have been placed here they also have a policy to accept pets so I have my kitty here with me. I was approved for an housing voucher and hope to find a more permanent home soon. .
I just saw Dune (Part 2) and I think there's a humorous homage to this video/song in the movie. Christopher Walken of course plays the Emperor, but there's also a line in this song where Bootsy Collins says "if you walk without rhythm, you won't attract the worm" which is a famous line from the Dune book. In the movie, when Chani is teaching Paul how to walk in the desert without attracting the sandworm, they seem to be doing the slide step that Walken is doing at one point in this video.
0:10 If I'd got that message, I'd think it was a prank call! Amazing how people can sound different over the phone. It sounds like some random New York man.
He was never cast for this. He was walking past the set while eating a pizza and then threw it in the trash and walked on camera. "Spike.. im THE one who will BE taking over... now" and started tap-dancing. He's Christopher Walken, so they couldn't say no.
[sigh] You know.... I really miss those suits; the ones that actually fit, instead of looking like you're wearing your younger brother's jacket by mistake. They'll undoubtedly come back. If I'm lucky, maybe in time for me to be laid out in one!
When will interviewers learn not to put people in front of or sideways to an open window with glaring sunlight? You film WITH THE LIGHT, and NEVER AGAINST IT.
HE WAS 84 WHEN HE FILMED THIS?!?!? I'm 46 and couldn't exert that much energy to save my life! I'm doing SOMETHING wrong..or he's doing something right lol Edit ok it was a joke but he WAS 58 and still has me beat.
So glad Christopher Walken did this.
It just bought it all together.
Fat boy slims music is awesome
3:16 "That's not me, I must confess."
Clearly covering up his vampiric powers. We know the truth!
Lol!
It's clearly "the other guy" ...
They should have made "the other guy's" hair a little more gray and it would have been harder to tell. Doesn't matter though, Walken is fantastic!
"not bad for an 84 year old man". He says this so matter-of-factly that I had to check how old he was at the time.
This clip was recorded 20 years ago and Walken is 78.
he was 57 when he did this dance routine.Just a bit of trivia.John M Guinto

One of the truly iconic music videos in my opinion.
Christopher Walken IS A LEGEND,
Thank you for this. I wasn't even a big fan when it came out when I was a teenager, but it was just such an amazing video, it's something you'd never forget. I've always been curious about the details.
One of my favorite actors. And trust me right now these times there are few

2:00 "Yes I have to confess, that's not me." Love Walken, so funny.
I find him very intense. It's like he actually thinks about every word before he says it. Too bad most people don't do that today.
This habit came from growing up with immigrants that barely knew English and had to pause before each words because they where searching for it/translating in their head.
Funny it became his trademark.
It's ''too'' bad most people don't do that before they type a comment with spelling errors in it.
Truly fascinating to hear Mr Walken's perspective on this great video. Thanks for posting this.

Ah! That's really rough and unfair. Hope recalling the video gives you a smile.
WOW!
Stay safe man.
Luv and Peace.
Christopher Dancen!
No Ted is Danson, Christopher is Walkin
Man, this video and the song still slap so hard.
He's truly one of a kind!
Christopher is amazing!
You were and are excellent Christopher thanks for doing it
What a legend!
What a guy! Found my new aspirational role model for 2024.
Could listen to him endlessly. Great guy. 😍
Brilliant video. They don't make stars like this anymore.
They never made stars like this to begin with….he’s completely unique

Most of the song is one big Dune reference, to be honest.
If you thought he was great in this video, don't miss his cameo in "Pennies From Heaven" from the '80's. Incredible!

Somehow i love this guy.
It's intense. 😂
So intense.
the look at the end: “are we done”? 😆
I didn’t know this was a Spike Jones video. Viva Chris Walken. The wire work was at least as fab as the dance.
I stayed at the hotel they filmed this in, the Marriott in downtown L.A.
Needs a LOT MORE CowBell.....=))

CW will not be with us forever...that is a sad thing to contemplate
it's intense
Bring back big beat NOW
Amazing, amazing guy.

Nah .... light came from Christopher, can't help .🤣🤣🤣
Nevertheless he looks great there ❤ Like always. 😊
