- We built a DIY basking platform for our red eared slider turtle. Not just any basking dock, but the greatest basking area of all time for our turtle tank. The G.O.A.T. It features a large, carpeted platform for basking with not one, but two egg crate ramps. Why two ramps? The second ramp leads to a separate feeding tank to more easily manage water quality. This basking spot could get the entire turtle tank featured on MTV Cribs. This concept can also be taken to connect two tanks together.

That's cool but if you ask a turtle about the ultimate basking platform, it will tell you a big wooden log or a warm natural flat rock under the sun.
Idk, turtles are pretty food motivated. A secret path to where the food is seems pretty appealing.
Wait a second. Am i buggin? Is there some modified add on top to that tank? Or was a hole cut out of the glass where you put the dock?
This tank originally came with a half wall on that side for a hanging filter. Swapped to a canister filter and had the weird hole in the half wall, so thought it would be a perfect place for the basking dock and allowed us to fill the tank a little higher. We are currently in the works of swapping to a new larger tank, feeding tank and basking dock. New video for that coming soon!
@@BaosBuilds ah! I see! Thx for answering! Haha, i watched ur video earlier. .and just got home a lil while ago (its 930pm)...went to home depot and picked up a sheet of that egg crate. Im gunna make one too now thx for the idea. No wood will be involved tho cuz im too lazy. Thx again.
