Sona, like myself, grew up during the sweet spot for school safety drills. She was too young for duck and cover nuclear war drills and too old for active shooter drills.
yeah, late gen x'ers and early millennials had it pretty good for awhile. Then from 2001 everything has been on a decline
True. When I came to America and started school in the 1980s we only did Tornado drills. I just wish I wasn't better educated at 8 years old than some of my teachers. Sadly I meant that literally.
And yet many people who grew up in her era are infamously crippled by anxiety. There is no easy out.
@@WarThnderMudnen76 Tornado drills were great, too. Because class stopped, and the entire class all got up and went to some random windowless room in the school. One year it was the wresting practice room with padded walls and floors.
I'm in that same age group, but did you guys not have bomb threats? They'd happen in our county about every couple months. I was also a senior in HS on 9/11. The sweet spot definitely ended then.

Pretty sure active shooter drills have replaced duck and cover drills. Though peanut allergy duck and cover is admittedly funnier and more light hearted.

I love the fact that the moment the voice message starts playing, Conan and matt start taking notes like first benchers and sona chanelling the people in class who always have a puzzled look no matter what's going on

I completely agree. This should put to rest any notion that she's anything like Ed McMahon, and that her whole thing is her laugh. She got in some great zingers here, and she takes out the room a couple of times. Even her reactions and expressions are funny, and they make the moment funnier. She makes such a great foil for Conan and Matt. I love the impromptu "cheesy joke" critique.

Hilarious bringing it back to nut allergy at the end. Carter had a peanut farm before being president so it would have been pretty funny if he had a nut allergy.
Peanuts aren't actually nuts. That's why I can still eat them with my tree nut allergy. Born in the 70's, my allergy didn't develop until my 20's. I loved all nuts until they started burning my mouth and bloating my stomach. I have a friend who has to go to the emergency room if a peanut touches his tongue, though. Allergies are very strange. You may not notice you are allergic to something you love until you get older, and it can get quite severe.
How did school shooting not get brought up here.
Since 1989, the only time America went longer than 30 days without a school shooting was the covid lockdown when there was nobody in schools.
