The supposed back 3 is essentially the same as the back 4 he would play anyway, Saka plays so far up the pitch. The way they played against Netherlands was by far the best they’ve looked, why change anything from that setup?
Remember the Netherland wingers weren't as dangerous as the two Spanish wingers. Those two wingers will press England fullbacks a lot.

Gakpo had his worst game and Malen had to even be substituted. Again Spanish midfield is stronger than the Dutch midfield. I still think the game will be won by whoever will control the midfield.

I think Tripps has been brilliant playing in the wrong position. I feel he has a better understanding with Foden. I’m a big Luke shaw fan but when he was brought on to exploit that left hand side Dutch defence he didn’t do that.

The attacking left side is a problem, put Gordon on the left, Saka on the right and Fodon up the middle, play Bellingham next to Rice, play Shaw on the left of a back 4, I’d also drop Kane he’s lost every final he’s been in.

Kane has only played 2 finals. 19 & 21. In 19 he played with injury, he shouldn't have played that match tbh. In 21 he did fine, created a chance and scored in the shoot out.

Gareth Southgate would not get a huge job out of England and he would not manage a top premier league club. The best he could get is Crystal Palace, Everton etc.

I have never met or worked with or for Southgate but judging by the players and pundits, one of his strengths is to create a feeling of unity and cohesion within the group of players. That is an important quality in a manager. If he wins today, he will have several top jobs coming. I predict that TenHag will be fired from United. Who knows if Southgate will replace him.

England played well and played through the Dutch defense and the shot was very well placed. So I don’t know why you’d call it lucky?
You obviously didn't watch the Netherlands match. England dominated for most of the match. And that's coming from someone who is dutch. They have become better as the tournament has gone on and they have a good chance against Spain.

Obvious, banal, partisan, vanilla sky sports commentary as what's to be expected these days.

This is hardly the pivotal question, a LB or LWB. It’s a bit of a small world view. Do you think Spain are even considering this issue? There are much bigger issues, like scoring goals. Nobody won a Euros cause of a LB, neither of them are Roberto Carlos. The crux for England is to create and score a couple of goals. Spain will score at least 1, maybe 2. We always lost to the big boys by the odd goal, and we need to focus on going forward. Kane, Bellingham and Foden are the keys, and if they don't fire on all cylinders we will lose.
Clueless if you think a wing back can't be the deciding g factor, of course they can.
