- I love spending one on one time with my kids out in the backcountry. Lucy and I spent the weekend hiking to Lower Calf Creek Falls in southern Utah and enjoyed a nice relaxing weekend together. She's such a fun and good little hiker.

Faaaantastic job!! At 5 Rugged Mountain Mister's best is 6.2 miles with a 6 lb pack. Only 2 breaks during the hike too! Agree it's so much more work but so worth it that it isn't a concern at the end of the day! Keeping good easy is good. Mine go for the pop tarts and they're always super excited! Great video dad!!

Absolutely….get those kids outside. I didn’t know you were a dad, but how awesome is it to share stuff like that with your kids. And 4 is such a great age to do it. My 3 year old is about there, but really he just wants time with me. Just offering the outdoor experience is what it’s all about.

I canoe camped with my Granddaughter when she was 4, and 5, and 6. She was a delight. 6-7 other guys were on the week long trips, going down river and moving every day. She helped carry gear from canoe to campsites and back, helped both setting up and striking camp, and found more morel mushrooms than the guys. She’s a 20 year old lady now. The guys enjoyed her, and she enjoyed them.

Miss those outings when my kids were young. But! ...my grand kids are almost of age for hiking!
Awesome job man! Gotta love the giggles at that age. I've been taking my daughter camping and backpacking since she was very young as well and though a lot of work at times like you said you just can't beat the memories made.

At several points along the trip when Lucky looks up at you & announces, "Daddy I have to go to the bathroom? I'm not asking for details. I can only imagine how you handled the situations. I'm sure Lucy looked around for a toilet B4 asking you "the question".

It does a pretty good job of burning efficient. It’s not perfect but does a good job.
