European/Western and Asian culture period is entrenched and embedded with racism and colorism. Some countries are more tolerable than others, but ALL have racism. The only place brown/black/African looking people don't get looked twice at or treated differently because of their skin color or looking African is in Africa. Africa is the future for us. Once Africa is strong and respected all other countries will be forced to treat Blacks in their countries with respect. It doesn't matter if they like us or not, we just deserve respect as human beings. When Africa the continent that houses Black people is strong, Black people all over the world will be secure. I really believe this.

This is why African development is so important.. where can black ppl go to be properly socialized and not develop self hate when many of us have to rely on the charity and assimilation into white countries? Most blacks if given a choice probably wouldn't care to assimilate.. our time in Many white/asian countries should be to get education and resources to then go back to black countries so we can develop it for ourselves.. the perceived lack of options means we are forced to deal with these situations.. when I was a child the kids used to tell me to go back to Africa.. and I used to be offended and fight.. if those ppl said that to me today.. I'd say that's part of the plan. It saddens me to hear these stories, but are we going to beg non blacks to be better? How about we compete instead of running away to these countries only to make them richer.. ppl respect power(look at China) and if blacks don't gain solidarity and instead focus on integration with the idea of white charity/white guilt being our primary vehicle then we won't ever have it. So.. instead of planning your European get away, and spending money to make the lives of ppl, many of whom don't care about you, better
... How about you..😬 GO BACK TO AFRICA 😎👍🏾✌🏿🏴

The way I see Scotland, is all this amazing history, I can understand the language (for the most part), it has familiar social/racial issues, but I there's free university education after 3 years of residency (as a foreigner), universal health care, and a safer and more tolerant country than the US. I've been researching it for a while now, and I'm not approaching it with rose-colored glasses, nor this romantic ideal. I think it's at least worth a visit! My only issue with Scotland, is that I'll have to take driving lessons for the left side of the road to keep from killing myself on the road!

In scottish law, for someone to be convicted of an offence you need 2 witnesses so most racism abuse go unpunished hence less record of racism and because of this they think there are no racism in Scotland.

After summer my Latin skin would turn super dark so the Scottish boys gave me the nickname Toby (from Roots). Everyone had a derogatory nickname so I shrugged it off. Meanwhile, many of the Scottish girls were in love with me and literally chased me down the hall in packs. I was convinced that I was the first Latin person they had ever seen. So you can my experience was a mixed bag but overall a positive one. My sister was born there so one day I hope to take her back.

Racism is everywhere. I'm sorry for the experiences that all have had in Scotland. I can say I've experienced alot of those as well living in America. Especially living in Los Angeles where I was born and raised. But what I have always done is stand up for myself. My father's family was very active in the Civil rights movement. Maybe Scotland might need a movement as well. Maybe you all need to start a NAACP chapter in Scotland. Just a suggestion. I still plan on visiting Scotland one day tho, if I can handle ignorance in the US, I can handle it there too.

So much ignorance. This angered and hurt me. No one should have to "laugh or go insane" about who/what God made them. Here in America, we blacks experience so many microaggressions on a daily basis and are constantly having to navigate them without going off on somebody. I can't imagine someone calling me a coon or n-word to my face. When I tell you it would probably take the force of an entire army to hold me back...

As someone who was raised in Germany(and experienced a lot of racism from the kids my age) I think it’s very common in the European and Uk educational system for the kids to be very cruel and ignorant. It is so important to teach the younger generation cause these can become such dangerous and deeply traumatizing experiences for children to deal with.

"in London where it's not really acceptable" - Isn't this part of the 'racism only happens in other places' mentality that this video is pushing back against? Racism is not just an American problem, nor is it only a Scottish one, it's everyone's problem.
Every multicultural city in the world believes itself to be "beyond" racism, and in every case it's a myth. The UK as a whole (including London) does not deal with its problem with racial discrimination.

I have some scottish + irish ancestry on my Caribbean side. Certain West Indian countries have a history of Scots/Irish/English ppl that settled and some of us are mixed in with them despite our brown skin tones lolll. The Irish were brought under the British caste system tho 2 work for the upperclass European plantation owners. I know about the racism in Ireland as I've lived there so not surprised to hear about the Scottish having these ways. Unfortunately, for me it's weird bcuz I feel a bit of connection to Europe as I'm mixed and have a lot of European heritage but there is a great deal of racism in Europe at the same time. I haven't travelled to majority white countries or lived in them recently. I think if black/brown ppl have the choice, they should consider doing the same + see what other places have to offer, instead of just europe europe lolll. Even w' my large amount of European dna, I don't really claim it bcuz I am non-passing + know white folk mostly see me as brown person. I call myself mixed + don't try to pander, seek acceptance or try 2 fit in w' monoracial ppl bcuz I will never be considered monoracial.
Europeans created their systems + institutions for their ppl 2 thrive + prosper, not really for outsiders that have no cultural ties to the place. Interestingly enough, plenty of my european friends from school would leave europe all the time 2 explore + see other countries outisde europe, whether backpacking or taking a spring vacation.

There is no way, and everyone has a right to be a jerk anyway. The only thing you can do is help develop laws to make sure all are equal and that other races are not treated like sub humans. Racism happens pretty much everywhere you can imagine. You can help educate and it will be up to the people to change their ways.

It is sad. I am a biracial black and white female. My mother was white and my father was black. In school I was called an Oreo cookie. I work where we bring in residents every year. For 15 of the almost 19 years where I currently work. black people have applied but have never been accepted to the program. I had a conversation about this with the current director to the program, who is a brown skinned man but not considered black, who told me he would change that. At this time there are people of color who have been accepted to the specialty, however, they are not black people. They are people of color who are from the director's country. I guess he misunderstood the race we spoke of. I have, however, noticed that perhaps the commission on accreditation has stated that you must at least interview some blacks so that the department does not come under scrutiny. In the last two years, I've noticed that blacks have just stopped applying. So if anyone doesn't think that racism is alive and well in the majority of white people no matter where we go on this planet; I'm here to tell you that it is alive and thriving inside their souls. That in this day and age they still teach their children to hate is an absurdity. And I agree with the comment from acajudi100, they enjoy the evil they perpetrate on black people and any people of color. There is a piece of poetry someone wrote, I cannot remember who at this time, but it goes like this: Two natures beat within my breast. The one is foul, the one is blessed. The one I love, the one I hate. The one I feed will dominate. I'm sure every black person on the planet knows what nature white people feed. There is good and bad in all races, but it seems all races hate us. What I want to know is why?

Wow!! I was planning on going there for vacation this year to go Cupar or Aberdeen where my Scot anc9came from and moved to the Caribbean; I don't think so anymore as a Mulato ( Mixed race ) person. They sound very backwards; i thought that pathology would be more likely in England though I never experienced that when I was there.

This is a low bar for 'racism'. Some people actually get murdered and genocided over their race.

@@forreal245 I am glad you asked.Yes.I had lunch with him, breakfast and dinner too.Everyday.There are many ways that I know what I know. The God of Israel's name is Yahawah. He has one son. His name is Yahawashi. These are Hebrew(black) names.Yahawashi died on a tree shaped like a cross. The Roman Catholic church changed his name to what the world calls him now.He is according to the flesh from the house of David the tribe of Judah. The same tribe that I am from. That is how I know the messiah is black.I got more proof if you are a hater.Now. Give me what you got on this name that was made up less than 500 years ago.I am afraid that YOU have been deceived like most of the world.God named his son Yahawashi.Man named him Jesus and whitewashed his image. Now prove to me that this did not happen.I know.you can't.I am waiting on black Yahawashi to save me.You can wait on white Jesus to save you.It really is Ok.You can believe anything that you like.I personally seek the truth and believe only that. The truth will set you free.Dont be upset because messiah is black. One day soon you will be very upset. at the ones who deceived you because the messiah is black.Do your own research. You should love him no matter what color he is.Time is getting short. With all thy getting get understanding.Your soul is too important to take somebody's word for it.Find out for yourself before making juvenile comments, and that's for real.
