HOW MUCH SNOW ARE WE EXPECTING THIS WINTER?
I’m forecasting the most snow we’ve seen in 5 years-which I guess is not saying much as we’ve avoided any major Winter Storms during that time. I’ve posted the forecast amounts for the upcoming Winter on the map. You can see Lynchburg is 14” to 28” and Roanoke is 20” to 35”. Amounts are less across Southside.
IS THIS SNOW FORECAST ACCURATE?
No way to know. There is not one method, technique or forecaster that can consistently forecast seasonal snow amounts accurately.
THEN WHY DO A SNOW FORECAST?
Because people want to have at least have an idea of what to expect. This forecast is an educated guess.
