  • During the Ceauçescu-era contraception and abortions were forbidden and so thousands of unwished children were born. After the fall of Ceauçescu's dictatorship many of them ran away from the orphanges or their parent's home to escape the cruelty what happened to them in these places...
They live in the underground stations or in abandoned houses, they live in small groups with strong hierarchies, they copy what they have experienced in their life among adults, their lifes are dominated by violence, drugs and the daily struggle to survive in a hostage world, which offers them barely changes to escape it.

Mihal`s sister has a bruised nose and his brother a bruised eye.All the kids look absolutely miserable. Seems too much of a coincidence for a family which dont beat their children

His partens are monsters , lying to the world and pretending like nothing happened. THE CHILD WOULDN'T LEAVE HOME WITHOUT ANY REASON!

OMG the father is like " I don't beat him" and then " one day i chained him to the radiator" !!!!!!!!!!! WTF ? and by the way yes, you seem to be a very emotional guy !

:44 why is she making him feel so guilt?! No child just leaves their home for a spanking. Clearly this young child sacrificed everything he knew because he strongly felt anything was better than home!

4:20, I have experience with this shit. That Mom is lying out of her ass. When the children have looks of fear on their faces and are enveloped in complete silence, and not one of them is asking questions about their brother, and their mother is trying to plead her case, 9 times out of 10 the children are living in complete fear of the mother or father or possibly even both.

they could of took the document, made a copy and sent it back to the mother..., watching this now I really do feel for these children, especially for the ones who have extreme potential and want to do something with their lives. I wish I can see what has happened to them present day, especially this mature and lovely boy. god bless every one of them, and shame on all who put them in so much trauma.

Its not about being grateful, its about being proactive and making sure our society doesn't emulate this one.
For the woman in the bus, and most other people that show indifference, are victims of a culture that does not allow for empathy. The priest, social workers, and this woman, all basically accuse the kids. They find excuses to blame the kids, but not society or themselves. Which if you think about it, is almost like neo cons in the USA, "pull yourself up from you boot straps", etc.

And the Father what the fuck like. Who ties a child by the neck to a radiator? I can see why he left home id do the same if i was a child. I also thats the Father trying to play nice Guy to the Camera so i can only imagine what goes on behind closed doors when he has his drink on him.

If you want the truth, pay attention to what a person does, not what they say.

1:27-do these people think the boy ran away from home just because he didn't want to clean up his room and do the dishes?
I know some kids in the USA who run away from decent homes, but this is Romania we're talking about. I don't know a whole lot of kids who'd opt to live on the streets of Bucharest unless they had no choice.

my mom was sexually abused by her father as a child, and instead of saying that she's always said that he would tie her up and beat her. perhaps it's the same in mihai's case?

I think people must learn the difference between beating a child and applying a corrective pedagogic slap when it's really needed. Not all children behave the same way and not all have the same reactions to a propper education. Clearly Mihai was being a victim of his father and I was happy to find his resume on the internet and realising that he is a successfull young man.

@theAteRandacTing I don't think she was trying to make him feel guilty exactly. I think it's more that she's heard a lot of "pity stories" in her day and Mihai isn't the youngest of children; he's twelve, old enough to think critically about his situation. She's challenging him to think about his own role, his choices, and whether or not he made a wise, or justified, decision.

@Konto1min It's not any less "normal" than it is in any other part of the world. But I think there's a completely different reason why the woman said that to Mihai.
