Regardless of the quality, quantity, and value, the indie carts are just must buys for me on Evercade. I don't know how long Evercade carts will last compared to classic ROMs, but there's a good chance these will be the only copies/record of these obscure homebrew games in 10 or 20 years.
Ignoring the quality of the memory in the evercade carts, this is one of the very few systems that allows you to physically buy the games without a bunch of post release updates (mostly, and yeah I know the system itself is often updated). Most other platforms ship physical games that aren’t finished, so requiring GBs of updates, or just allow you to buy access to a digital version. So in both cases all you are buying is really the license to access the game. That’s why the retro products that you buy that don’t rely or have internet access are you effectively buying the game to do with as you please without relying on an external service (server for updates).
@Stephen-2097 Even if the system and the carts eventually stop working, the physical manuals will probably be useful records of this period of homebrew gaming history.
Il gioco del coniglio sicuro mi farà giocare per sempre come tetris e super Mario Bros 😂😂😂lo amo, spero lo sviluppatore fara' altri giochi per evercade 🎉🎉🎉
I might buy this for Soko Banana but that would be it. I really wasn’t impressed with any of the other games of the month but I thought that was fantastic!
@@CrazyBurger The series Pre Dates Bejeweled, Tecinanly first game it had was Tetris Attack on Snes though the japanese version of it panel de pon is on Switch Online. After that next games it got was the Pokemon Puzzle game on N64 and GameBoy Colour. The series has nothing to do with Tetris really at all. Great series even better in multiplayer. DS version of Puzzle League is one of best ones.
Thanks Crazy! Hoping the second cart is good! I like C64 but it's not the right machine to kick things off at the start of the year as they keep doing. Computer Heroes would be better if it has some gems. 👍
Sadly, Blaze keep reinterating on podcasts that they don't think people are interested in a spectrum cart. @@Androsynth75 I found that baffling given the success of TheSpectrum over Christmas, although perhaps at the new prices people might not bite.
@@Androsynth75 Nobody outside Europe would ever consider buying any Spectrum carts. The way the system handles motion and sound makes it pretty much unplayable to anyone who didn't grow up with one. I'd rather play the most flicker-ridden 2600 or NES games you can imagine than anything on the Spectrum. We get Commodore games because the platform was popular, widespread, and is now easy to emulate and license for. The Spectrum was only popular in one region for a brief time and its library has aged like unpasteurized milk.
@ I hear what you’re saying but I wasn’t born in Europe, I’m an American, and there are plenty of great spectrum games. Collections like I’m talking about are how I discovered that. But that argument doesn’t apply to the Atari 8bit, , Coco, TI etc. Those are all very fun systems. Why even have a ‘computer’ line if all you’re gonna do is commodore games? It’s silly. I don’t deny that Commodore should be the largest chunk, because it obviously should be due to popularity, but two years in, we need more than just c64 and Amiga games.
@@Androsynth75 Of all the systems you mentioned, only the Atari 8-bits sold in significant numbers. I've been collecting retro game crap for over 30 years and I've never even seen any TI or Coco stuff in real life. Evercade is already niche within a niche, but the old computers you're talking about are a minuscule blip within those niches.
I spent over £1000 on Evercade carts but kinda stopped because it’s just more of the same. Shame we don’t get more PlayStation games like Parasite Eve. Need some big titles onboard. Out of the hundreds of retro games I’ve bought for The Evercade, only about 20 individual games are actually playable- like Tomb Raider, Duke Nukem..
Probably unlikely.. but heck you never know. Fascinating (or not), Parasite Eve was never released in Europe. Though thankfully my local game store imported US games. I picked up a copy though to be able to play it you needed to get your PlayStation "chipped".
Decent cart, I will pass on it, only really like two games and for the price increase, not for me. Not a complaint at all, I am fine with the price increase, just not enough there for me to want to purchase it. Looking forward to what they bring in the near future.
@@sshamon72 I'll most likely have to purchase it. There's actually 2 handhelds coming from My Arcade. They've had a massive cash injection by the looks of it.
@@CrazyBurgerI believe there are 3 large handhelds coming. Atari, Namco - Capcom, and some Retro name themed one. Totally mental to have 3, maybe Mr Musk or Mr Trump has given them a big cash boost lol.
Let me save you the trouble - it's MyArcade. Which means it will be flimsy garbage with poor support and in 8 months a newer, better version will be announced.
Taking into consideration they have only just announced the price increases to the carts I was expecting a stronger offering. Don't get me wrong the new prices would not put me off the system but I am less likely to purchase the fillers to maintain a full collection of carts.
It'll surprise you that Evercades price of £19.99 for Indie 4 is actually very good. I doubt it will always be in favour. I'll be updating this topic in tomorrow's vid.
@CrazyBurger I do appreciate that for 11 games a score isn't much but then it's also relative to the draw of the games. For me personally most of the games on this cart do not appeal as I am mainly a retro gamer so I am drawn towards either old school rereleases or games that have the old school pixelated look I.e shovel knight etc which I will say in general the evercade does do well at.
Which is a bit of an issue with the imminent price increases. Evercade maybe not providing value in comparison to other platforms. Albeit comparing to digital versions.
There's a few on there I would like batty zabella for one that game alone on gameboy is expensive. I'd rather buy this for cheaper with a collection of the other indie titles
I'm not a big fan of the Indie Heroes carts, they're just not my thing. I'll definitely watch the full review first before making any decisions about purchasing it.

Collected all evercade from day one, getting a bit disappointed there's not enough arcade games, I thought ever'cade meant arcade. Keeping eye on My Arcade new systems.
It's a bit of a poor show this year especially in light of the price increase. Murtop and Flea 2 are decent but the quality isn't really there with most of the rest of them. Pity and will be a definite miss for me. Keep up the awesome work!
I get that these are indie games (and I’m absolutely an indie fan myself), but this looks like a whole cartridge of filler. There are so many other indie games made by solo developers that are considerably more competent than these choices, and at much more reasonable prices. Bit of a weaker showing, this one.
I love indies, but evercade is not the right place, unless they are "arcades", Dodo and Murtop are fine. Not buying this one, sorry. Maybe in the future if they release a greatest hits. They increase the price and show this? They are starting to behave like big companies
Well, it is bad timing, but they made an increase before the new season. It is fair to say that coincidentally the opening of the year always starts with Indie Heroes. There is space for all sorts of games in the evercade system, and indies have been integral part of the ecosystem, whether they are arcade. consoles or computer games. Evercade is very small company, with severe challenges as a global company.

the Indie Heroes has yet to let me down. let's hope this isn't the first one to do so. *fingers crossed*
The trailer should have showed more of Murtop, which is the main reason to get this collection.
The trailers are usually criminally short. Though I can't complain. It inspired me to make longer videos.

Collie Defense was rad, but SERIOUSLY too short! i hope they can include more levels to make it worth it.
