Great hike, love Castleton and the hike over mamtor to edale, one of my favourites 😍 yet to do the Great ridge to loose hill. Looking forward to revisiting Efale in 2024 to start the Peninine Way.
Nice bro I needed a video like this because I want to try this, I feel the same about other hikers they’re always happy 😊 I love hiking 🥾 I really am hooked 😂
Top video mate! Little fact, you can no longer see the church spiral in the reservoir when levels are low, they blew it up to stop people swimming out to it to try and touch it!
Hi great video, i mainly hike in the Welsh Mountains but as I live in Staffs I've decided to spend 2024 checking out the Peaks 😊 . I frantically plot the routes on O.S app while watching your videos and TikToks so thanks for the info and I've now got a bunch of great hikes and camping spots planned 👍
Awesome video! Having hiked with you a few times, it’s good to see more of your personality showing in the presenting....along with Sams Fun Facts....& your humour! Don’t forget when wild camping to find the ‘legal’ areas - handily marked on OS Maps with a peachy coloured border and for public right land (usually owned by National Trust) and to avoid the private land...along with angry farmers!
Maoam!! Yeah!! My favorite! Lol I envy you in the nicest way. Seriously wish I could go on a hike like that. Someday!! I'll just keep adding to my bucketlist.
Could you do a short video explaining OS maps eg. How you download a map, how to follow it, what to do if you’ve not got signal and so on! (I didn’t realise you could download an OS map and see your live location!!)
Great film, Sam! Enjoyed it. Always learn from experienced outdoors folk. This stuff is probably a cake walk compared to marines training. Nevertheless, if not prepared, the environment will punish you, right?! Bet you can’t wait to do a camp again and get amongst the hills. I am so unfit now after lockdown - need to build my stamina back up again, so back to the hills and start training again! It may take a while (was 50 in Dec!), but no excuses, head down, battle on! Cheers, Ian
Real great video and route... ive done all of those places multiple times but never that exact way. Going to do it looks a real good route. Parkin Clough can be lethal tho lol saw that little slip and ive nearly ended up on my backside a few times 🤣🤣 Also ive seen C-17's a few times and some Typhoons do a 'touch & go' over Ladybower from Bamford edge. Hear the roar and wondered what it was the first time 😆 Look forward to your next video bud. Subbed!! This is a brand new channel created the other day so once my goprp arrives I shall be vlogging my adventures too. Cheers bud 👍👍⛰🏕🌲🌍🥰
Thanks for watching and commenting and subscribing mate! Was such a fun route, a lot of elevation so made for a good couple of days! And tough ones at that, yeahhh I know what you mean about the C-17s! I've had that too 😂 have subbed mate look forward to seeing what you come up with !
@@Samrculley No worries was a real well put together and easy to watch video! I bet, always start feeling my left knee on the decent after a big one tho haha. I love to see the aircraft there as I used to work with them before. Hopefully might catch some Typhoons in the Lake District one day on the mach loop, that would be cool! WOW thank you so much!!! I shall try to not disappoint lol. Ill try and find you on Instagram too 😁😊👍👍 ATB
same, I used to carry around an 85 litre bag! but compressing the kit down to bare essentials, and essentially vacumming it all in to dry bags made such a difference, next im going to get a water filter to save the weight of carrying so much water 👍 ill use that space for the drone instead 😂😂
Great channel mate, really glad I've found it. Any chance for some info on the kit you're wearing? Is the Montane Jacket a hardshell? What was the yellow down jacket you changed into? Also, are you wearing trail running shoes? Looking for ideas to add to my own kit so any info appreciated. Cheers squire.
Thanks for watching mate, much appreciated ! The montane is a goretex jacket, they have the new ones on offer in go outdoors at the moment, well worth a look 👌 the yellow one is actually a cheap one I got from mountain warehouse £30 in the sale... and i actually prefer it to the north face one I have haha and yes, merrel GTXs goretex trail running shoes, I like to move fast so I've been wearing them all summer... in winter I wear boots though! Something abit warmer and goretex 👍 hope this helps matey
Been following a while on Instagram...didn't realize you had a YT channel too. Nice to see other smaller YT channels producing good content...maybe we can get you involved in our outdoor channel YT #cleanupuourmile campaign next year
