Hi, top 35 speedruner here with a shit ton of advice if you want to get into speedruning: -SLIDE. DOWN. STAIRS, and KEEP sliding until you start going slower than crouch spamming. This should give an ungodly amount of momentum that if you can manage to keep (either by holding jump or hitting your head against door frames a.k.a. ping-ponging) will completely change the game. -You should try unlocking the belly slide animation, helps a lot with visibility -If you have good momentum or see a switch room ahead, you can try risking carnation (funny pink guy) by just running past the hiding spot, going up to a switch and crouching in it using the default animation. This will make you survive carnation without hiding (for some reason), resulting in a nice time save. (this is called matering, and doesn't work 100% of the time because of screen shake but it's very consistent) -Alternatively, if you're in a pinch, you can sit in a door frame, look at carnation and flick your mouse the millisecond before he would kill you (I'm not joking, it's like a 6 frame window). This is called parrying, it's almost impossible and you probably shouldn't use it. -Only the head of slugfish (wormie) kills you, so after it passes you can just slide underneath it to not loose to much time. -You should pretty much always skip the first and third carnation and just go straight for the safe room.
I'll be streaming soon trying to improve. Since this video, I've managed to drop my pb down to a 7:02, some of these strats I've found myself and others I've learned watching top runners, thanks for the help still :]
don't forget edge jumping. where if you jump while sliding and hit a edge, you can skip some rooms or even switch rooms if lucky. also, Elkman you can just walk past as long as you are behind a wall than you are safe so once you run past him, hide behind the door you just entereds walls if that makes since

if you want to try out some other stuff for grace, go into a custom game with commands on and type ".test" into the chat and you'll get put into a test version of grace. you can also do this with friends the same way but in a private server.
The only part of slugfish you die to is the mouth, so you can ram into it's body as much as ypu want. And you can even slide through it! Also, there is a glitch where you can hide from carnation, (pink thing) using the levers. Speaking of levers, all you have to do is run into them and they activate. No keybinds or anything. Also, elkman (the black figure you hide behind a wall from), alike slugfish, is safe to touch and as you did in a run, can be walked right past into the next room, which is what i normally do. Quick speedrunning tip: there is something you can do called trimping, which sends you FLYING into the air! The way you trimp is by sliding, then letting go of run key, and holding any movement key, until you hit a wall. When you hit a wall with that setup, HOLD JUMP! You can practice it in the lobby with the lamp-posts! Sometimes the jumpboost is small, other times you can go to the moon!

btw if you really want to go like fast in the game, then i recommend you set your slide button to left click in settings to open doors while you're sliding, meaning you basically maintain your speed.
So... i may have misspoke a bit in the stream, lmao... There were a couple of things i missed such as the top speedrunner rebinding crouch to left click instead of e (nearly impossible to tell though as most of the time he was spamming both. Did you know that there is a test server? How to do it: When you join the game walk forward then join a custom server with commands, than type in “.test” then your in!
you should 100% try the test servers when you load into the game go to the white tall thing that's in the middle then create a room set whatever you want but be sure to put commands for owner or all when you load into your game type in chat .test and you will load into test server they are more cooler and more panic indusing!
I brightened it in Post so its easier for the viewers to see, but you can brighten your actual monitor screen as well which I do when speedrunning Doors and... Grace, lol
you could use the gamma thing, just search gamma on your windows search bar thing and click next two times and you should have a scale thingy, move it up to make it brighter
it's fun to see someone fail over and over on monsters that seem easy to pro players haha. I don't speedrun usually but it's interesting to see how ppl do it (i typically jst try to get around door 1000+)

I mainly did mission 100% runs, Basically that's where you complete the main objective, all side objectives, destroy all Outposts, and extract. I liked doing these by myself on the highest difficulty, and I broke over a dozen world records in the process 👍
I find dozer easy breh the worst combo I seen people die to is carnation and sorrow is because people would think those safe spots for carnation have a roof over it which would make anyone not crouching over that thing to duck into would die.
@SuperSpeedyYT still haven't tho, I'm having trouble controlling my game when I'm going extremely fast, and dying to pinky is how most my runs end. Once I get that under control then it's all over from there
