I had to withdraw from a semester in college and go home due to personal reasons (I'm returning next year), and I listened to this song on my sound system in my dorm room, as well as various other CC songs, while I was packing up all of my belongings. Had to leave all my friends behind and the entire college atmosphere that I loved in general. Listening to this struck all sorts of deep notes emotionally and left me feeling very empty on the inside yet excited and content all at the same time. CC songs always seem to elicit such bizarre emotions for me, it's fucking surreal.

it's definitely ethan. it's a pitch-bend; they used the same effect on the second album, where ethan sang not in love. regardless, it's fucking incredible. this is easily one of the best CC songs ever.

Reminds me of a time I didnt experience and of a place I havent been to. But I remember being there.
I think it talks about the feeling to be apart and forgetfulness.The lyrics are a metaphor about fragile of individuals and the violence of the masses, especially in young ages. Whatever, cristal castles point its on the lenguage of music and lyrics are open and suggestive.
Probably more likely a lesson to younger girls about date rape and how we always blame her for being in a position that wasn't safe but forgetting our own youthful days and how we would do anything for a thrill or to have a sense of being independent the first time easily could be a night that was full of unforeseen troubles. I used to be the man who had to be in everything and everyone was open game. I never had non consented relationships but I know I was probably quick to dip on alot of girls who had real feelings I was aware of and now I only think about the same guys today trying out for my little girl. It makes my blood boil and lesson learned a bit late
