    People just don't understand, Kobe was sensational at dunking. Lebron just had two or three powerful dunks. Carter was a master, but in terms of variety, Kobe wins hands down. Even Jordan and Dr J didn't though down some of the dunks Kobe did.

    Tim Duncan (multiple times). Dirk Nowitzki. Yao Ming (twice). Steve Francis. Dwight Howard. Kevin Garnett. Chris Paul. Steve Nash. Vlade Divac. Two Brooklyn Nets players at once. Andrei Kirilenko. Emeka Okfaor. Even Hakeem Olajuwon. And various other NBA players. And yes ... even LeBron James.
    Bottom line: it doesn't matter if you're a Hall of Famer or a scrub. Kobe Bryant will just put you on the ugly end of a highlight reel. Aside from Dominique Wilkins, Vince Carter, and possibly Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant is the best in-game dunker in NBA history.
    You have doubts? Watch this video.

      I agree on that. I've been a vince carter fan since his rookie year, i would say kobe is definitely up there in terms of dunking. He's the most underrated superstar in terms of dunking, hes so great that ppl forget about his dunking ability. Jordan is the most overrated dunker, I would put kobe over him in dunking

    No one in nba comes close to Kobe when it comes to talent and skills in basketball today. Kobe is just second to none. Every move from defense, jump shot and dunk are spectacular. He is a one in a million kind of basketball player. I am KOBEs fan forever.

    And that is precisely my point. If Kobe had Lebron's massive Body and he could go to the paint as easily and effectively as Lebron does, plus with his amazing Jumpshot, Kobe could average 40 points a game. Easily.
    But if Lebron had Kobe's "skinny" body, with that mediocre mid-shot of his, he wouldn't even be half as good.
    Kobe = Pure Skills
    Lebron = Mostly athleticism
    And I'm not a Hater, Lebron is indeed a great player but when he's Kobe's age and that Body fades away, He's going to SUCK.

    And yeah I'm out too. Have a nice day.

    #8 Was a FUCKING BEAST!..... People seem to forget how explosive and athletic Kobe was.. Much better than Lebron is right now..
    Afro-Kobe would dunk it right in your fucking face....
    and 24 Kobe will shoot a Fade-away right in your face that can't be guarded...
    He still the best.

    Do you have an idea what you're saying..? Although Kobe is a great player, and was a pretty good dunker at the time, he doesn't even compare to Vince. And Blake and Lebron's dunks are overhyped/overrated, but you still can't deny that they are amazing.

  • @ExilixE
    @ExilixE 12 років тому

    I hope you're not making that argument on the premise that Kobe is still in his prime.. I mean he wasn't on the NBA All-Defensive Team for 12 years for nothing. and its on-ball defense that makes a defensive player great like Shane Battier on Avery Bradley. he had that 99 feet of onball defense on lebron and stole it after that. in his prime, there was nothing he couldn't do. his defense was top class, he stole alot, and had great blocks on great players. Now he's just really defensively aware

  • @ChampayneWayne
    @ChampayneWayne 12 років тому

    that is true... but...even though Durant isn't and all-round offensive player like kobe and melo. what he is capable of doing, which is driving and shooting, he does extremely well. with his height (6'10") and a 7'5" wingspan. he can get his shot off where ever and whenever he chooses and he's a great shooter at that. also add in the fact he can play positions 2,3,and 4. he's the best offensive player in the league

  • @ChampayneWayne
    @ChampayneWayne 12 років тому

    Charles Barkely, Magic Johnson, Scottie Pippen, nba greats, even Kobe himself have said LeBrons athleticism is could possibly be the best the nba has ever seen. Athleticism does not take much skill other than finishing at the basket, but has far as jumping high, and being acrobatic... not much skill there...just physical capability. If you took LeBrons athleticism and added it to Kobe's all-round basketball skill and vice versa, it would equal the greatest player...a created player on a game

  • @ExilixE
    @ExilixE 12 років тому

    That's what I'm saying those, Kob being a shooting guard can still do everything a Sf, Lebron, or even a center can do. I got the center post up moves dream shake etc. He can shoot in any which way he wants to better than Lebron, Drive in any way better than Lebron(young kobe), Post moves anyway better than Lebron. and he has the ability to do everything lebron already can. it's just he doesn't do it as often. kobe can pass just as well, just not as often. n Lebron rebounds more cuz he's bigger

  • @ExilixE
    @ExilixE 12 років тому

    that's exactly the point, Kobe was skinny 205lbs and he could still do what lebron does! except he literally dunked "on" people, like ming, howard, wallace, etc. and he dunks with such finesse. he would drive baseline and fool the triple team and reverse dunk it on the other side of the rim beautifully AND with less hops than Lebron. Kobe may have less hops than Lebron but he makes his hangtime seem INCREDIBLY long. Kobe could drive and shoot better. more skill in smaller frame

  • @T82486
    @T82486 12 років тому

    And you showed me video to where only two dunks Kobe hasn't done. I've showed you dunks that not only Jordan hasn't done but doesn't have the ability too do. Because if he could do a reverse windmill, he would have done it, beside doing a reverse lay-up. If he could do a off the backboard between the legs, or a behind the back mid-air dunk, he would have tried. Because MJ can do the between the legs, but not off the backboard....and if he can lets see you find that one "Mr. Jordan archives man"

  • @T82486
    @T82486 12 років тому

    Plus Jordan is a small 6'6 so it looks like he a 6'4 guy when he does he's dunks so with spectacluar hangtime it makes it look even cooler. But guys duplicate what he does all the time, they just don't look as good. Now the under the basket, putting the arm in the rim....dope indeed. But that's the only dunk done by Jordan, that he made up or that hasn't been done. All the dunks i've posted from Kobe please, find someone who has done this dunk before he did em.....i'm begging you

  • @T82486
    @T82486 12 років тому

    watch?v=Y772cqXaG7Y:
    This the video where Kobe does the off the Backboard between the Legs, not mention a behind the back dunk....not mention a 180 Between the legs, something else Jordan hasn't done. I've been watching basketball for a long time and know more about the game than you do. Jordan does dunks anybody with natural jumping abiltiy can do, he just looks good when he does it, plus he has major hangtime. But Kobe dunks are innovative, the first of there kind.

  • @T82486
    @T82486 12 років тому

    Jordan did regular dunks he just had style, hangtime and flare, but Kobe does dunks that haven't been duplicated: 0:29, 0:44, 01:06, 01:56, 03:03, 04:37 and watch?v=-St4VnDcmUc. Are all dunks that Kobe has done, that Jordan has not done, nor has come close to doing. Now that's 7 to your 4, plus not mention the off the backboard between the legs. Besides, show me a video where Jordan has dunked over a player the calibur of Tim Duncan......10 TIMES. WHAT GAME ARE YOU WATCHING

  • @BlueHundred1
    @BlueHundred1 13 років тому

    @Sololobo2112 Depends on what you mean by dunks. Also, MJ and Vince dunked plenty in game. Vince is probably the best open court dunker, I've ever seen. Shawn Kemp is a ridiculous dunker. Griffin's like a modern day Kemp. I'm surprised that DWade isn't considered in your top ten. Even KD deserves to be considered in the top 20 or so for his ridiculous facial in the playoffs on Hayward.

    Lebron only attacks hard and straight up. Kobe can literally jump for the left side of the rim to the right while a guys hand is in his face and still manage to get around the rim and dunk it. Lebron is athletic and all but not like Kobe. Lebron attacks straight an up. Kobe can literally turn into an oragami When he dunks hahah

    Kobe is the 1st person in the NBA, to do a reverse windmill, he's dunked over more 7 footer than anybody. And he's the first person to throw the ball off the backboard and go between the legs and put his arm in the rim.........sorry but he's innovative and clutch with his dunks......the best not by far but the best

    Thats what IM saying...dude ive been saying this for a long time, but him getting us there those couple of years through the western conf. was a great an accomplishment as making the Finals in the east. imo. No team has ever been singlehandedly willed to win to a playoff berth. EVER until kobe lol.

  • @austin78993
    @austin78993 11 років тому

    Like ExilixE said. He's always been more of an on ball defender. Steals and blocks are misleading at times. You could get two steals a game gambling in the passing lanes, but you'd probably give up a lot of layups doing so. So does that necessarily make you a good defender? Tough to know.

    Kobe's dunk at 2:22 -- he was raging mad in that game. Pissed at the Utah fans for booing Derek Fisher (first game back in Utah since he left the Jazz for LA to care for his daughter's eye cancer). Kobe was talking smack to the Jazz fans and sticking it to them all night!

  • @T82486
    @T82486 12 років тому

    This why I say he's the greatest: Michael had the hangtime and flare, Vince had the elevation, DR. J had the style and the clutch dunks, David Thompson and Darryl Dawkins had the power, Jason Richardson had the tricks.......you combine all of these traits in one player? What do you get? Kobe.

  • @MrTrojanRam
    @MrTrojanRam 11 років тому

    I'll put Kobe's dunk package against anyone's. Whatever he lacks in hops (even though those were crazy during the Frobe days and the early #24 days), he makes up for in flair/creativity, and the willingness to dunk on ANYONE. His victims include the best shot blockers of the era (Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Dwight Howard, Ben Wallace, Yao, Kevin Garnett), as well as some other big names (LeBron, Nash, etc.).
    Great stuff. Great vids despite some of the dunks not having good quality.

  • @BRBallin1
    @BRBallin1 12 років тому

    The thing is that they play different positions because their bodies work differently in the court. So you can't expect the same things from both of them. LeBron has the ability to do some things better than Kobe and Kobe has the ability to do some things LeBron can't as well. They both have different styles of playing so you can't expect LeBron to do some things that Kobe can do better and vice versa.

    don't forget since Kobe is lighter.. he has less muscle so less strength to carry him up in the air. Lebron is 250lbs+ of muscles and he has much more strength than Kobe becuz of his physical talent which allows his big legs to give him more lift.

    You can't really say he will SUCK. Who knows that he might develop a jumpshot just like MJ did when he was aging or maybe he develops a great postgame so much so that he doesnt need athleticism that much just to get to the rim.

    The thing I appreciate most about this video (other than the dunks of course) is that you left in the original game audio. So much more fun to hear the actual sound of the dunk plus the crowd and the announcers reacting to it in real time rather than listening to some generic song slapped on top of it. So thank you for that.

    And when you see MJ catch the ball off the backboard and go between his legs or do a reverse windmill on in between two 7 footers please alert me...........

    No one comes close to Kobe's work ethic, competitiveness, and skill. Lebron may be more naturally talented, but I don't think he's ever going to surpass Kobe in all those areas.

    Jordan could palm a basketball, Kobe cannot. In my opinion, because of that fact, confirmed by Phil Jackson, kobes dunks are far more impressive.

    So silly. I am a huge Kobe fan also, but this is a baseless statement. Lebron has dunked on bigs and Kobe dunks on Steve Nash in one of these!

    Lebron doesn't really dunk over people his dunks usually come from wide open lanes and fastbreaks. Which doesn't make sense because he is 6'8" 260

    Things to remember though, Kobe weighs like 205, Lebron weighs like 260ish..................... That's alot more weight to get up in the air.

    Ppl hate on Kobe now. But he's the most clutch player in the league. And how can u say he sucks. These r just dunks. He can do whatever he has to.

    Lebron has power but Kobe has more hang time, it's like he's gliding in the air. That's why he's able to do all those acrobatic dunks.

    I do respect MJ and he is a legend but in his era theres wasn't much good players as Kobe's era thats why Kobe will always be number one

  • @slomonster12

    there were maybe a total of 5-6 different dunks in that. he does the under the net reverse like 20 times in this vid. over all title fail

    Does anyone else think that if Kobe changed his name back to #8, he will start beasting like he used to, still my favorite player.

    You're right Kobe is a better ALL-ROUND basketball player, but at this point in Kobe's career, Durant is the best SCORER in the nba.
