NBC truly romanticized the legacy of baseball with the intro music and the film clips from the past and present at that time. I miss that feeling of the NBC game of the week on Saturdays. FOX could never duplicate it.

I saw that this game was recorded off the NBC station in Quad Cities, IA. That’s Cub country. I can’t imagine their fans were too pleased that day.
Those Giant teams from 86 through 90 had World title level lineups but minor league level pitching staffs.
Little did we know Greg Maddux would become a Hall of Fame legend.
