The excess oil is the scalp overproducing sebum and is typically associated with dandruff. The baking soda wash or even rinsing with diluted Apple Cider Vinegar and water can help to restore your scalp to it's natural Ph level, which can decrease dandruff. Google oily hair causes and you can find lots of good info on how to correct it.
Sara Stojakovic Oily hair is sadly the type of dandruff these videos neglect. I also have oily hair and (I don’t know how well this actually works yet I’m going to try) I think if you dry out the hair of oils completely then add good oils or lotiony stuff it might work. Getting a prescription dandruff shampoo can also work wonders.
Everyone has/ will get oily hair if they don’t wash it everyday. Plus, these methods do work pretty well and if you’re worried about them liking your hair up, don’t worry.. that’s why you rinse it off.

I apply Coconut oil on my scalp and leave it for about 30-45 mins or so before I shower. I massage my scalp with dandruff shampoo and leave it on for 5 mins. Then I just rinse it with water and TRUST ME, it WORKS!!!💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 Btw your hacks are really helpful tbh💛💙

Khadra Omar lice takes your blood from your head and they crawl all over your head.my daughter my other daughter and my son and my husband and me had lice in 2018 but now 2019 we don’t . And Jackie is correct they are bugs on your head that causes itchiness and takes your blood thats the difference.
I have dandruff as well...not washing my hair for a day causes extreme itchiness Here are some of the things i learned: -I use a lice comb (the metal ones)to remove the flakes - when showering i make sure to get the shampoo in my scalp,leave it for a few minutes and rinse it thoroughly -use conditioner to hydrate the scalp -i take vitamin e cause that helps me - clean your comb and pillow - be mindful of what you do to your hair - i always let my hair dry first before styling it - wash your hair Those are what works for me and may not work for you so please be cautious. Shampoos alone won't work. Use natural hair masks and treatments, I had dandurfs all my life and it didn't start to go away until recently when I committed to hair masks and treatments for 1 month now. Get a good hair mask from the super market, and make a natural one yourself at home, there are plenty of DIYs. The natural one before shower, the other one during shower and use it instead of conditioner. Don't buy conditioners anymore, replace it with hair masks, and don't wash your hair everyday no matter what, 3 times a week is too much. You'll thank me later.
@Space_101 Duclos That's how you know it works. Follow it with a good quality conditioner to moisturize your scalp afterwards. It'll be gone within a week (me, 3 days with Neutrogena Gel) smells like tar, b/c there is in it, but does the job. For women, i'd only touch on the roots, on the scalp. Not the whole hair. It'll dry that beautiful hair

Omg I struggle with dandruff. What I do is put coconut oil on my scalp a while before showering my hair. You can leave it overnight but I never have time to wash my hair in the morning. Anyways I use the ogx keratin shampoo and shea moisture coconut conditioner. It's been working for me :)

Minino647 tea tree oil helps because of it's antibacterial and anti fungal properties. Also tea tree oil is very different to most oils a it's texture is more like an alcohol .
Before anyone says "HeAd AnD shOulDerS woRk1!1!" It doesn't. I've tried it for as long as possible, and it doesn't work. It also has very harsh chemicals like Sodium Laurel Sulfate and Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which is found in harsh clothes detergent. Organic shampoos are expensive, and much much harder to find, but it's the best for your hair and makes your life easier with a little less dandruff.

1. Lemon juice won’t help you. Why? Because it’s an acid, yes it sound like it will melt the dandruff but it won’t, it will make your scalp very sensitive and might cause burning. Be careful! If you use this “hack” then your scalp might be way more sensitive so you might have to change your haircare products. 2. The way she washes her hair is wrong! Don’t go in circular motions!!! It will only tangle your hair, which is something you don’t want! When you wash your hair, you’re more likely to loose hair, why? Because water makes it temporary weaker, and if you are washing your hair in circular motions, you might loose more hair, than you should. (Sorry if there is any typos, i hope that many people will be able to see this comment)

So I created a mixture of the things I had at home that she mentioned, baking soda, coconut oil, and olive oil. I left that in my hair for 25min and then showered. It made a huge difference.

Hi everyone I recommend using Selsun Blue it helps alittle but it doesn't get rid of it it does stop Dandruff from Speading temporary.Step 1 wet your hair Step 2 Rub onto scalp step 3 wait about 10 or 15 minutes repeat 1 or 2 more times it helps.

i recommend oil wonders by matrix....my mom is a hairdresser and she bought it for me for christmas and i have been using it for 3 years...it doesn’t really help with dandruff but it is the best!!!

I’ve been doing everything the same from my knowledge but for some reason I’ve been starting to get more dandruff when I brush my hair enough. I do get oily hair every few days so idk if this is the cause.
If you have a dry scalp you don’t have dandruff. You have dry scalp. When u have dry scalp your scalp produces not enough oil. When u have dandruff your scalp produces too much oil and it builds up on the scalp. Those are two different conditions that need different treatment.
What other shampoos would u recommend? The only shampoo that has worked on my hair so far has been SelSun but they have stopped selling it where I live and I have very sensitive skin ☹

Another tip to help with the itchiness, is to dilute some tea tree oil in some water and spray it on your scalp.

So I created a mixture of the things I had at home that she mentioned, baking soda, coconut oil, and olive oil. I left that in my hair for 25min and then showered. It made a huge difference.

Hi everyone I recommend using Selsun Blue it helps alittle but it doesn't get rid of it it does stop Dandruff from Speading temporary.Step 1 wet your hair Step 2 Rub onto scalp step 3 wait about 10 or 15 minutes repeat 1 or 2 more times it helps.

The fungus that causes dandruff feeds on oils so I personally wouldn’t recommend using any oils like olive oil on your scalp.

i recommend oil wonders by matrix....my mom is a hairdresser and she bought it for me for christmas and i have been using it for 3 years...it doesn’t really help with dandruff but it is the best!!!

It’s the soap you use every time when you wash your hair?or a specific type?
I’ve been doing everything the same from my knowledge but for some reason I’ve been starting to get more dandruff when I brush my hair enough. I do get oily hair every few days so idk if this is the cause.
I have had dandruff for 4 years and I’ve been using different soaps
If you have a dry scalp you don’t have dandruff. You have dry scalp. When u have dry scalp your scalp produces not enough oil. When u have dandruff your scalp produces too much oil and it builds up on the scalp. Those are two different conditions that need different treatment.
