  • Lift Information
    Location: Charter MSCP, Watford
    Company: OTIS
    Type: Traction, OTIS mod logic
    Logic: OTIS mod logic
    Voice: Drucegrove
    Fixtures: OTIS Concave
    Capacity: 16 PERSONS/1200kgs
    Floors served: LM, UM, 1, 2, 3, 4
These lifts used to be Old OTIS lifts. They were modernised by Express Evans (part of OTIS) in the 90s. The part of the shopping centre which these lift were in closed for renovations and reopened on the 27th of September 2018 to reveal that the lifts had been modernised badly by OTIS.
One of the 2 sets of call buttons on the 3rd floor are were put in the wrong way round. On lower mall, one of the call buttons was not working in the first week of service. Also only 1 of 3 lifts were working on the first week. The floors were also labelled incorrectly so new plates had to be stuck on. LM was G, UM was 1, 1 was 1M, 2 was 2, 3 was 2M and 4 was 3.

Got stuck in a ModLogic Otis before when i safety broke it, if the cab door circuit is broken with the shaft door circuit closed for 4 seconds the lift shuts down and you are trapped, this logic is a piece of shit.

I was thinking about breaking safety on these things. Luckily I didn't. It's surprising that OTIS are making this shit, you'd expect better from one of the top lift companies.

These lifts are absolute crap, rode them the other day, theres an annoying delay between the doors closing and the lift moving, was expecting much better than this for a new shopping area.

I thought they were going to be generics like the ones in the main shopping centre. This is quite bad for OTIS. Luckily Debenhams has nice Ecodiscs.

liftadventures I don’t expect much from otis these days to be honest. These lifts are too inefficient for a shopping centre, bet they’re fun in busy times. Make the generics in the rest of the centre look amazing in comparison.

Very true. OTIS have gone downhill from the 1900s. The generics in the shopping centre are nice with semi-intelligent levelling and pre-doors compared to these. The Gen2 is rubbish compared to an Ecodisc or Mitsubishi.

    Kone ModLogic is next...

I wonder if it would be as bad as OTIS' mod logic. Hopefully KONE stick to Digital Advanced or their own logic for mods.

what logic do otis use in there mods is it made by them or rebranded crap

    • @LiftAdventures
      @LiftAdventures  5 років тому +1

I believe it is OTIS Modlogic made by OTIS. There's Probably a make for it but most lift enthusiasts just call it Modlogic.

what do kone use then kone mod logic is that made by them

When KONE modernise lifts, they use a few different types of logic. I've seen them use their own logic, KONE LCE, they also use other generic brands such as Lester Controls and Digital Advanced.
