We had arrived in Canada in August, and just after a month, in September, I incorporated my IT software business as a limited company. I did a bit of research, watched a couple of videos on UA-cam and just did it myself on the same day in less than 30 minutes. If I can do this, you can also do this on your own.
There is no need to visit any Govt. Office. The process is straightforward and can be done online while being anywhere in the world.
All the steps are mentioned and well explained on the Canada, CRA Business official website, and trust me it is very simple.

For extra provincial registration (Ontario), it says the government of Ontario does not accept registrations with post-dated commencement data. Should I wait until business starts to proceed with Ontario registration? Not sure how to do it if I wait
Ideally the commencement date should be the date when you're trying to register the business. So, if you mention the commencement date as the same date when you try to register, it should work.
