As a birth worker, she genuinely scares me. Not because of what she does in her own life, go off. But the relentless mom shaming with misinformation is scary and has ripple effects to the actions and emotions of vulnerable moms
My grandma contracted polio as a child and had to use braces on her legs and use crutches whenever she left her house for the rest of her life. When the polio vaccine came out I bet she thanked God that doctors developed it. She would never want anyone, especially children, to have to go through what she did.
@@nancyplants757 same, me and my first were rushed to surgery (c-section) because my liver was failing and I stopped clotting!! My son and myself still had an amazing bond even though he was cut out, not push him out.
@@nancyplants757 I have met several moms who somehow felt robbed of a "natural" birth experience or like bad moms because their lives and babies' lives were saved with a C-section. Pregnancy and birth is risky and there are women and children dying in places like Morocco because of traditions telling women to give birth at home. I'm so grateful to live where I have access to experts and medical help. I gave birth "naturally" but birth is just that, the few hours it takes for a child to enter the world. It's not a test we need to pass and it's no fun whether it's vaginal or a C-section. We get a baby at the end, if we're lucky. That's the thing!
It's so odd that she doesn't trust birth control because it can stop periods, because she has made comments before that she doesn't really get a period anymore and that's healthy for vegans, a la Freelee
I still can't wrap my mind around this one. Why would anyone ever believe that your body no longer being able to carry out, in her words, "it's primary biological function" is evidence of being healthy? I won't trust medical science and literature but I will deprive my body of essential nutrients it needs! -logic-
I still got periods when I was vegan. I don’t think being vegan is unhealthy as long as you’re getting a sufficient amount of protein from alternative things such as nuts, beans, grains, etc. I became vegan after my eating disorder and becoming vegan was the only thing that got me back to a healthy weight instead of being 15 pounds underweight as someone who was 4’7 at the time.
So what's with her saying that stopping the number 1 biological function is a red flag when she is taking a healthy lifestyle to an extreme and it did the same (but it's not supposed to, unlike birth control). Although it's sad to say, sounds like she found her natural birth control :/
@@mdoublehb9588 now I know it’s been a year, but can you provide actual scientific sources and peer reviewed studies that prove this theory of yours? I’d be interested to read them.
I watched a video about her prior c-section she had before baby Fern. She had a baby and it died at the hospital. I think that trauma has caused her not trusting the medical industry and doctors in general. She had her baby at home and had a wild pregnancy.
She had a c section because she was involved in an at fault car accident (said she was doing 55 when she t boned someone else) and they were trying to save her life…she needs therapy not god same tiktok 🤦🏻♀️
@@rachelnicole1038 I completely agree with you. Based on why she went vegan post she discusses prior traumas. I didn’t see the post about the car accident but I am also not on Tik Tok.
She keeps coming up on my fyp despite saying I don't want to see her. I honestly go back and forth with feeling sorry for her because of her very obvious trauma from the loss off her first born immediately after birth. I then remember that no matter your trauma it doesn't give anyone the right to spread shame, hate, and misinformation. Moms are so often shamed for every single decision we make and her adding yet another voice to the cacophony of misinformation is so damaging. Her recent video on free birthing is MINIMALLY dangerous as hell because it shames women into thinking that they will not have as special a bond with their baby because they chose an alternate birth method. Her natural=better falacy is just so harmful
She is the worst and should be banned. She refuses to give her child even a sip of water (they live in an area that currently has been reaching temps of 109 degrees, and keeps him in the sun for hours) instead he gets ALL water from fruit… She doesn’t believe in sunscreen for her baby She shamed moms for getting C-sections, claiming you don’t get that “bond” with your baby and never will
She also originally wasn't going to give him any food until 4 because "gut health." Then she said he kept reaching for her food and she decided to give him food, even though she knows it isn't healthy for him. What happened to "trusting your baby?'
Not to mention she thinks "free birthing" is the best way to give birth because midwives are more worried about their own liabilities in the situation. She's lucky she had a labor free of complications, and she's able to produce breast milk. Again, If she had needed medical intervention during her labor, or if her baby couldn't breast feed for some reason, this would be a very different Tik Tok.
@@jennblusky7240 best to note tho that her first baby was a micropremie who died after an emergency c-section that was the result of a car accident. This wasn't a full-term, healthy baby.
It’s almost like they’re worried about their own liabilities due to the fact it can be proven they’re not giving the best care possible for the situation 😐 she thinks they’re gonna put her in harms way on purpose when they’re doing everything to avoid that to not get a law suit..
My baby was breach with the umbilical cord around her neck and shoulders in a tangle.. she wasn't coming out no way. Without a csection we'd both be dead. Silly girl.
Sorry, I didn’t know that she previously had a c-section were the baby passed away. I don’t know if she had this belief before or after that incident, but I’m sure it still impacted her horrendously. I did also just want to note that in a recent Tik Tok she stated that in her birth plan she allowed for C-section under “life saving measures” for the baby and herself. But still … being “against” a medical procedure is just odd. She also stated if a C-section were to happen no formula was allowed to feed the baby. Only colostrum. 🤷🏻♀️ just updating in case she sees this haha *and so other people know I watched quite a few of her videos
I'm just now able to watch "anti-vax" videos. My mom passed from covid. Hearing people call it a "harmless flu" and such definitely makes me angry these days. I've been on bc since my period started. Testing says I'm perfectly fertile. But my urologist also loves to tell me how dangerous an unplanned pregnancy is for me. It's the blanket statements for me 🙃
Birth control is definitely a choice, because not all birth controls work the same for everyone. Vaccines are not, my daughters three and she’s gotten everyone, that’s crazy to not wanna take prevention from diseases that we should haven’t to worry about anymore. Poor fern 😭
One of the factors with Alice's content is that she has lost a child shortly after a c-section that she claims she was not allowed to decide for herself to have. I forgot the details. But heah. That'll probably make you hate Medicine forever. I hope she gets the help she needs.
I saw in an different comment people were saying she had a bad car crash and had to have an emergency c-section for her very premature baby and the baby died shortly after, and yes I’m assuming since it was car crash and emergency she had no say in whether to have a c-section because her life was at stake. This is clearly a trauma response which is so sad, I hope she gets the help she needs to learn to cope with this.
That's really useful information that needed to be included in this video. Because I foresee a lot of comments that will mock and villainize her. When in reality, she's a really young woman who went through a traumatic event most of us couldn't even imagine. This is obviously her coping and trying to make sense of that loss.
Alice lost a baby, and IMO (and my opinion is grossly under qualified to diagnose anyone) she's in the depths of PTSD. She's likely defensive because she has possibly misplaced guilt and desperately wants Fern to live. Sucks that she's working against her and Fern's own interests.
Yes - I also think autism comes into it. As an autistic person myself, I can say first hand that we are often very passionate about our interests and can be stubborn in some ways. It can be a good thing (ie being super determined) but with Alice I feel like it’s just made her closed minded and convinced everyone else is wrong
(another unqualified loser chiming in here lol) do you think this could be similar ot OCD? not that she has it, it just reminds me of having ''crazy'' rituals or beliefs to prevent a catastrophe someone is afraid of
@@AlienZizi ocd compulsion aren't nessesarly attempts to stop something from happening, this is just based off my experience living with both ptsd and ocd, but it's for me personally something that i just HAVE to do. I get if it's hard to understand if u don't have ocd, but if i try to ignore it it'll be eating away at me until i finally breakdown and do it, creating a terrible anxiety and empty/ incomplete feeling. Ocd heavily affects ones inner thoughts too, like lots of us sometimes suffer with terrible and distressing thoughts of shit like extreme violence enacted on loved ones, incest, traumatic life events, and so much more. Obviously I'm not the authority on living with ptsd and ocd, but personally i just don't think it could ever truly justify the damage she's doing to her baby and all the babies of parents who fall for her harmful bs
Well, doesn’t she claim to be autistic? That may be your answer. Autism spectrum overlaps with schizophrenia and OCD spectrums. She displays behaviors that are typical of all the above.
i work in healthcare and i don’t say this lightly but that baby needs to be removed from her custody. she has shown, many times, neglect, child endangerment and more. it’s more than a life style choice, she is physically putting her son in harm.
Our pediatrician speaking to me in a calm, respectful manner a SECOND TIME got me to give my son the flu shot. She didn't give up on me or treat me like I was stupid.
Glad to hear! I hate the term "vaccine hesitant" because hesitancy should always be encouraged as a driver for research. The focus should definitely be finding quality and reputable sources.
I will forever be grateful for formula and for C-sections. My son would have died if I didn't have a C-section (cord prolapsed). I didn't produce enough milk and yes I tried everything to produce more and I really wanted to breastfeed, but it didn't work out so I had to switch to formula for my baby to live. People will do anything for attention.
I had to have an emergency c-section after 36 hours of labor and have had to supplement with 1-2 bottles of formula a day. If these things didn’t exist I probably would have lost my baby. Sure I would have loved to be “natural” with my birth, but I definitely prefer actually having my child.
My daughter and I would likely both have died without a C-section! She was super stuck, there was no getting out the regular way. Some people seem to think that all C-sections are by choice because mom wants to pick the day or something.
This seems like an extreme case of PTSD in response to losing her baby. She allegedly claimed it was because of the vitamin K shot and other things the doctors gave the baby after an emergency c section that had to happen after she got in a car accident. It’s sad but she needs serious help.
Its parents like this who should have preemie babies and understand just how difficult it is to feed a baby when you dont produce breast milk due to them being significantly early and that can only have formula then. My son was 26 weeks and people like Alice always made me feel like I was a horrible mom because of it
You should watch her video she posted about this. She says that she doesn’t care what other mothers do because the parental bond is way more important than anything else. I think she just wants people to question what society does and form their own opinion.
@@skrodlada Actually she did at the time. She was in a car accident and they induced her early. She is acting so extreme and gives awful and dangerous medical advice in part due to the untreated trauma she had. I don't know what happened behind the scenes or the doctor so I can't say if the doctors did something wrong or not, but she mentioned at one point that the doctors gave her first child a bath within the first 8 hours which they were not suppose to do and others have suggested it was only that that went wrong.
Thought I was done with my comment, but I have more lol. It’s super important to acknowledge how much privilege is behind a lot of her beliefs. She preaches about moms NEEDING to be with their babies 24/7, and while I think most would agree that’s ideal for development, she has the privilege of staying home with her baby while her husband works. Just like she has the privilege of being able to breastfeed, etc.
What I think is funny is that she won't use deodorant because it causes breast cancer but will expose her son without using sunscreen and risk him getting skin cancer
Yeah I was following that and now have a two year old 😅 pretty sure Ellen fisher was done after her third and was following the natural method and was surprised with her forth. It’s not birth control, it’s baby roulette lol
@@TinkerBelleMichelle HAHAHA if anyone comes to me with their "natural family planning" again I will call it baby roulette and it will be funny as fuck. Atleast for me. Because sticking a thermometer up your vagina and digging for cervix slime is just... not the best method overall lol.
There are several different methods. There is the temperature thing and different models that also look at cervical mucus and cycle days, but you have to do them correctly. Many people don't think natural methods work, but you have to be honest with yourself and make sure you're doing it right. Also, just like all other methods, there is a chance that you can still get pregnant. I know the Creighton model specifically is as effective as other hormonal methods when used correctly. So if you don't want to take hormones or stick a foreign object in your body, find a facility or doctor that knows about different methods that can teach you how to use them and you can choose the one you feel most comfortable doing. Abstinence is the only perfect birth control, so that would technically be the most natural and effective, but not the most realistic option.

In theory I agree with her on informed consent but more so on issues such as circumcision and ear piercings, etc. What I don't understand though is that if she's such an advocate for informed consent why does she film her son on the internet for everyone to see. She doesn't have his consent to do that. It genuinely baffles me
I have an alternative take I'd like to share. Of course at the end of the day this is only to provide a different perspective and not to make decisions for you (as long as one's kids are healthy all around the parents can continue to do whatever they deem necessary for raising them, ofc). I actually think circumcising and ear piercing babies is better than doing it when they can feel it and remember it. I only say this because in the Philippines (where half of my family is from) circumcising is done at 13/puberty and it's an extremely painful process for the boys there who have to wear pants and walk around and can't stay home all day---and then they go on to remember the pain. I got my ears pierced when I was a baby and don't remember a thing, which I am so grateful for. I love earrings, but I would not want to remember that. Although babies are sensitive to pain, as long as it's something that doesn't permanently cause injury/pain, it'll only hurt temporarily; and if they're under the age when memory develops/babies become conscious (unless they have the kind of memory that allows one to remember even their mother's wombs) they won't remember the pain or be able to refer back to it in anyway. In terms of body consent, babies should know that they are not required to hug relatives they don't know and things of that nature. It's always interesting to me seeing different perspectives and I'd love to learn more about yours if you're willing to share. Have a good day!
Tdap (tetanus vaccine): Around $100 without insurance. $0 with insurance Tetanus treatment (it incurable but there is treatable): $100,000 to $500,000 Which is more expensive....

I worry for her baby, I hope it will live. Like her baby can literally eat something poisonous from the ground. And it might get a bad skin infection from to much sun exposure.
i raise my baby pretty similar to how she does. no sunscreen but he only gets 30 mins max off direct sunlight a day. I also let him explore with his mouth because it gives him natural immunities, but of course I know what is poisonous and what isnt around here. You do not need sunscreen. I used to think I needed it because I would burn very easily outside. Turns out, sunscreen is just a compensation for the effect processed foods, vegetable oils and trans fats have on our skin. I thought this was dumb, but the proof is in the pudding. Go a few days without eating processed stuff, only eat natural fats etc then spend a day outside. I was completely shocked.
Well I mean I feel like you can't blame her, at least not fully. Lots of doctors treat women absolutely terribly. You would certainly get what I'm saying if you saw that BuzzFeed article listing a bunch of TikTok duets that were part of a chain on that someone started.
Sooo by her logic because I had a mastectomy I can’t have babies since I literally couldn’t breast feed my babies! That’s crazy. That makes me so angry
I do sympathise with Alice in some ways (she’s obviously been through a lot with losing her first child so I really feel for her), but she’s 100000% one of those people that gives vegans a really bad name.
I mean, I think that keeping everything very clean and not letting your kid get dirty and killing every bacteria that comes into your house will make your kids immune system weak. One of the most effective forms of birth control is not having sex---especially if you're going to harm your child. Just play solo or go by mouth instead. Please don't keep reproducing when you're endangering children. I hope she learns better before she has another, but unfortunately I think she'll keep having more children while being uneducated.

I am not worried about others taking her bad advice but I am more worried about her son. I really hope he makes it out alive. Alice also has some trauma with one of her kids where she had a car accident and her first child died from an induced labor. I am not going to say her trauma isn't legitimate because I don't know exactly what happened and I wasn't there. There are cases of doctors not properly listening to women's concerns about women's health. Also I have heard from some people say that they gave her premie baby a bath when they were not suppose to. But Alice has gone so extreme, its dangerous and is putting her and her child at risk.

You pretty much nailed it on the head. The funny thing is that if Alice saw this she’d say you’re just jealous and insecure because you’re an “older” mom 😂 She has this huge sense of pride about being a young mom because it’s more natural, or whatever. She reeks of insecurity. It’s not even her lifestyles choices or the choices for her baby that bother me the most. I respect her vegan diet for her baby a great deal, but the way she passive aggressively states her beliefs enrages me. She says things like, “I respect your informed choice” but then the next statement will be a backhanded guilt trip. She does it so smoothly it’s not always obvious and it actually creeps me out. She’s also said a couple of things that have misogynistic undertones, like if you live with a man he should always pay 100% of the bills. The amount of people that listen and look up to her terrifies me.
I ate sand as a kid aswell. Not that my parents didnt try to stop me when they where around but I always found a way. I hope she treats her son when he gets worms because thats what i got quite often aswell because I ate sand. Plus if you life where cats are free roaming be sure they see every sandpit as their big catlitter so I wouldnt recommend anyone getting their kids to eat sand. I have very good gut health but my mom also has it and she didnt eat sand so I probably got it from her and not eating sand...
I’m not sure but cats carry extremely dangerous bacteria in their nails not found in dogs. If her son ever got scratched he could get sepsis. I had a co worker almost lose her arm to a scratch from a domestic cat.

I went from breastfeeding to formula at 1 year and baby is still happy and thriving just as much as before, plus mom gets her body back. I really don’t understand the hate formula gets.

-logic-
Isn't she breastfeeding though? The 'natural' way of changing your hormones that does exactly the same thing 😂

That's horrible!! If she does actually do THAT, her baby must be taken away from her, before it's too late!!

I've had one baby goat die of tetanus and it's genuinely the worst most horrible thing ever. Vaccines exist for a reason
I'm 40. Tik tok confuses the fuq outta me😂
Fern has rickets now 😭
I ate sand as a kid aswell.
What authority do you have to judge other moms? Are you so toxic I feel bad for YOUR kids.
Germ theory doesn't make sense. What?! As a graduating biology student, this really even hurt to hear. I don't have words for this woman.
She has so much trauma and is now going in the extreme opposite direction with her child and her unborn baby...which is equally damaging.
She has half a million followers? I feel like social media is going to be the downfall of society some day.
Her baby is going to grow up to be that one kid that somehow sustained a cough for three months
I was watching one of her videos when the notification for your video came up. I definitely thought her videos were satire because there’s no way someone actually believes in all this crazy…🤯
Nature --- it's not a reason. You're right, it's not how anything works. We are survivors of this type of thinking.
I think she’s like this because she lost a baby before that
Alice is anti everything including sanity and compassion.
I went from breastfeeding to formula at 1 year and baby is still happy and thriving just as much as before, plus mom gets her body back. I really don’t understand the hate formula gets. Its so well researched and keeps improving.
Also, moms who don’t vaccinate always think the fact that their kids don’t contract the disease proves they don’t need the vaccine. It’s coz the rest of us who did get our kids vaccinated are keeping yours safe. So you’re welcome.
It is deadly poison, obviously.
@@mdoublehb9588 clearly 😂

Yes.
Not funny.
Vaccines are deadly poisons too.
