San Francisco's own Royal Society Jazz Orchestra gives this 1920s -1930s gem a brilliant send up with a snappy trio of tap dancers, Don Neely's vocal, and a stylish crowd of ballroom dancers in a beautiful Art Deco Night Club Setting. Originally performed by Paul Whiteman's Orchestra with Bing Crosby and the Rhythm Boys in the film, "King Of Jazz". #Song #TapDancing #HappyFeet #PaulWhiteman #KingOfJazz #DonNeely #1920s #1930s

Tap Dance is like Jazz - it can be improvised or spontaneous, interpretive - it does not have to exactly copy somebody else.

Fab-you-lus!...a perfect tribute to Paul Whiteman, none could do better. This tune is incredibly infectious; who can keep still when this Orchestra and those ace tap dancers get swingin'!!

I used to hear you perform live when I lived in San Francisco in the '80s and I still ADORE you all! This is my favorite song of yours. Bravo. I'm thrilled to see I can buy your CDs on line.

I played Bass (tuba) a few times with RSJO a few times back in the 1980s, filling in for their regular player - very exciting and more than a bit tricky!

Dan Neely's band and vocalists are certainly about the best around these days for performing the wonderful songs of the late-1920s and early-'30s. I'm glad they're available on youtube.
