It's standard procedure that all trains in Canada, Mexico, Australia (not required), & North/South America use them when approaching stations, crossings, going through tunnels or passing other trains, etc.
@@Rails-Of-IllinoisNope, not a thing in Australia. Some locomotives have bells but only units purchased second hand from America. No new locomotives or multiple units have bells. I would know as I've lived here for my entire life.
Appreciated this being a former CNW employee retired . Thanks
Finally a good ride along for this line!
It is amazing how few the built up areas between Kenosha and Winthrop Harbor!
30:29 oh 'Deer' 😁 🦘
Imagine a full ride from Milwaukee to Chicago
my favorite line 🙂
My favorite Metra line i would take to Downtown Chicago coming from Winnetka.
it touches my memory. thanks for sharing this video!
Thanks for the ride. 👍
The haze/fog gives the skyscrapers of downtown Chicago a weird effect. Almost like you're approaching a cloud covered mountain range.
This line passes right by the Home Alone house
Winnetka, as I recall.
It passes about a block from the Home Alone house on Lincoln Ave. The Winnetka Metra Station is only a few blocks away.
Nice job man. I filmed a cab ride on this line too before but didn’t turn out as good.
This bell noise would drive any train driver crazy

Nice
Why can we always hear the pneumatics for the bell but not the horn.
The north line is mostly quiet zones... He does use the horn in North Chicago at MLK drive (26:14)
Real Bell Sound
