Festivali i Këngës has produced a participant for the 67th Eurovision Song Contest… Albina & Familja Kelmendi will head to Liverpool with their song 'Duje'.
This year, the show's overall winner was picked by the Festivali i Këngës juries - that was Elsa Lila with her song Evita - however, the act winning the chance to represent Albania at Eurovision next year had to win the public vote, and so Albina & Familja Kelmendi win the ticket to Liverpool.
Thank you to our friends at RTSH for providing this performance.

I love that Albanians have the guts to send something typical Balkanic and not some new-age artistic thing. This is the kind of music that we all love, all Balkan nations. Give me some rakia and this music, and I will open my soul, break a glass and cry as a child. ❤ Greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸
Thanks. serbs have good taste when it comes to common sense, considering how decadent other countries have presented themselves i thought even though it is albania surely gets a lot of sympathizers from serbia. I think it's a pity that Serbia no longer presents itself with its own folklore but more and more with decadent excesses. Greetings from Macedonia. Përshendetje dhe Faleminderit
Wouldn’t be eurovision without Albania sending in another one of their divas with amazing voices.

I like how Albania has almost every year its traditional music in the contest. That's what ESC and its diversity is all about
@@georgemioch8981 nah bro ur wrong

More and more countries are going mainstream at the contest. That’s why I appreciate a song like this even more. Albania never disappoints when it comes to cultural representation and strong vocals. I’m crossing my fingers! 🇦🇱❤️🇩🇪
This song made me so emotional. My husband is Albanian and daughters are Lithuanian/Albanian. Can't wait for them to grow up and be proud of their roots and languages.
RESPEKT
This was the first time the public chose the song for Eurovision. This shows how much Albanians value love and family.
And stealing parts of neighboring lands, drug smuggling across Europe, but never mind 😅

I'm tosk Albanian myself, but I'm happy we're sending something in gheg as well (although, if I think about it none of the previous songs have been in tosk but rather standard lol)
it's kosovo dialect (gheg) because gheg has its own subdialcts

Albina's message is pretty touching considering many families are broken during this times. Happy to see 2farm as jury 3rd place but would've liked it to win the televote, sill good luck to Albina!
This is a very meaningful song dedicated to the families which teared apart due to conflicts and sepparate their families, even up to relatives. Family is a very a weak point to Abanian culture and this family is singing and giving the message to love your family no matter, through good and hard time and not to let anything come between.
No languange would perfectly translate this song, because it is singed with a nothern albanian accent called 'Gegë'.
But, hopefully this translation will help you to kinda understand the song better :)
*****
Something inside,
Takes my breath away,
Don’t know what’s going on, going on,
I want it to stop,
( what’s going on?)
Having it all
And having it all
Still can’t get enough
They’re tearing apart,
Only by a word,
They are tearing apart, they’ve killed love
They’re tearing apart
They have forgotten that they have a home,
A Sofër with kids
• Sofër-(means a place, typically a wooden table, where the whole family gather to eat and spend times together, things which are very important to Albanian tradition)
Love it, like before you love it
* Duje - comes from 'Dua-means to love smth/smne'
Save that love,
Like life, love it
Don’t throw a stone at it (meaning don’t throw it away)
Like before you love it
Save that love,
Like life, love it
(Love it, love it)
They’re tearing apart,
Only by a word,
They are tearing apart, they’ve killed love
They’re tearing apart
They have forgotten that they have a home,
A Sofër with kids
(Love it, love it)
Exactly the lyrics 👩❤️💋👨❤️👨👩👦👦
Quite ironic that this song is actually sung by a woman who forced a millionaire to divorce his wife and two kids and marry this woman 2-3 months ago. Then this millionaire would pay a large chunk of money to composers to make a song about "anti-divorce" and anti conflicts in order to repair the reputation of the hypocrites they are.
@@taftybufty i have to correct you, her husband was actually divorced and yes has 2 daughters. She actually gave family to his daughters. However, we are talking about the music now, not for the singers :)

LYRICS ADAPTATION:
Something inside me leaves me breathless,
I don’t know what’s going on but I want it to stop.
They have it all and although they got it all they’re still unhappy.
They’re (they= people/families)breaking apart, for the smallest word they’re breaking up, love is dead, they’re hurting each other forgetting they have a place they call home and children of their own.
Love, just like you used to, cherish that love, love it as much as life.
Don’t throw rocks at it, love it like back in the days, cherish the love as much as life itself.
