Great Job I'm a new fan. you make good points about the CARL cutter. I wish you could do more in another video talking about the 2100 printer someday soon. Thank you!!
Hey thank you for leaving a comment. There is actually another video on the Pro-2100 on my page you should check it out. I am also getting ready to do another life update/canon update video as well.

Thanks for leaving the comment. I mention a few pros and cons in my second video. So far really my only cons are that the indicator for ink and paper I feel do not really reflect what you actually have. Also the Carl trimmer is excellent. I haven't replaced the blade yet, but I feel like I should soon.
@@SDLartsandcrafts thank you I recently purchased a canon pro for my giclee printing on canvas and paper. I realize that it’s so versatile. Good videos
Overall I recommend Canon printers over Epson, as I've heard (and experienced) Epson printers wasting so much ink. Canon makes it easy and have a great interface.
I'm also wondering about the Pro 2100, can you comment on the accounting manager and general costs of printing, and how often you are replacing the ink cartridges?
@@SDLartsandcrafts My printer consumes lot of inks even I use standard quality, from the beginning I just printed 12x8,12x15,12x18,12x24,20x30 sizes not lot but it consumes lot of links, my printer comes with 160ml Cartridge. How i can get my investment!
@@Silambarasan_rajendran Did you buy this printer? So far I've been printing a lot of 8x10 and 24" prints. So far still have the inks that it came with and I use the high quality settings. If anything, I'm about to run out of paper.
@@SDLartsandcrafts Yeah I have been using this printer for almost one month, even if i use standard quality it takes lot of inks. I use 160ml ink Cartridge that comes with printer. I am in depression cause i don't know how i can take my investments.
I just bought Canon Pro-521(India) 24inch printer one week back, I have a issues with that printer that when I print images with Gradient Background i always can see few lines on top of the photos. I use Digital plus 240Gsm Glossy paper so my paper type would be Canon Glossy photo paper 240Gsm, then I choose Canon Premium glossy paper 280Gsm and still I can see few lines.
That's very interesting. I haven't run into that issue. I printed out this artwork of mine that has a gradient. Although its a very subtle gradient change. sianday.com/shop/p/herstory
The gradient stepping is called posterization. You need to have a colour calibration and profile made so the gradient is converted to colour values the printer can actually print. Read up on making gradients and getting profiles made. The profiles that come with the printer are generic. Profiles really need to be made for your particular printer using the media you are printing on.
Hi, I'm considering a Pro 2100 and was wondering if you've had any issues with it? Such as, Is it wasteful with ink, print quality, anything you can think of? Thank you so much, I appreciate any insight you can offer!
No so far it's been wonderful. I love it. I got this because I heard it doesn't waste ink unlike Epson. Worth the buy. Thanks for leaving a comment and subscribing. More videos are coming! 👍
@@SDLartsandcrafts This Canon printer uses ink to keep the heads clean. As far as I am aware it does this every 72 hrs whether you have been printing or not. So if you don't print often it will use ink anyway. It's how they keep the nozzles clear. There is quite a lot of info about this online. Perhaps you hearing it doesn't waste ink like Epson was related to how Epson share the one print head for matte and gloss black. Well that has now changed with the latest 24" model therefore less ink waste. I also have a Rotatrim - lifetime warranty, self sharpening and not made in China, what's not to like
I can't say that I've noticed, nor can I confirm that every 72 hours the Canon printer is cleaning it's self. I did hear that the Epson printers waste a lot of ink. Besides Epson cost more so I went the Canon route. I'll be printing a lot this month since I have a show coming up. So there will be an update video soon.
Good video. Your observations were interesting and well presented, thank you. Just one thought: always wear cotton gloves when handling prints as your skin oil will show up and leave permanent marks.
Yeah sure what's your question? In about a week or two I'll be making a video again about the printer and a few announcements, so leave those comments.

How bad is it on Wasting ink while resting for days ? I heard the pro 1000 is a nightmare and so wasteful during cleaning cycles
Honestly, I didn't find the ink to be that wasteful. Now Epson on the other hand, I heard the ink can be very wasteful.

I have not tried that with sublimation ink.
