In one of her recent Vlogs she was talking about the future direction she will be taking with regards to her singing and the style of music she will be writing. I believe this song is an example of the style of music/singing that we can expect from her moving forward. She explains that she wants to be more selfish when it comes to the health of her voice. The bells and whistles that is a trademark of Morissette will probably be a thing of the past. She asked her fans to be understanding of her decision. Morissette knows that this decision could lose some of her fan base going forward. As a die hard fan of Mori I will support her until my last breath on this planet. ❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺
It's not just "more selfish," it's a classic trajectory that great singers take as they mature and develop, and imo anyone who a) doesn't understand this and b) doesn't respect her decision wasn't a real fan to begin with.
I’m happy for her. She HAS to take care of herself and honestly, she can sing the phone book and I’d be more than happy. It’s been a few years that’s she’s had challenges with her voice and she knows she HAS to take it down a notch if she wants to continue.
