    Valerie most definitely has the best custodians she could ever want. Elegance, style and comfort. A masterpiece. In my humble opinion, the most outstanding creation ever on four wheels. Her playful party trick, to drive safely on three wheel's. What a lady. A Goddess.

    If the DS would be introduced today, people would be just as amazed as I was in 1956.
    Yes I am that old, she was my first "Love". Only god knows why, but as a little kid, I had never
    seen anything more beautiful than that. Now I am an old kid, and still love the DS, 64 years later ,and I am still as exited as in 1956. What a beautiful Video , thanks to all involved creating this. Greetings from a warm YVR,
    Bas.

    I stil remember my first DS, it was a secondhand of two years old I bought in 1971. When I started to drive with it I was a little bit scared because I could not feel the road. But after a few kilometers....WHAT A CAR!!! It is one of those typical French products that convinced me the French are the best engineers in the wolrld. When they wouldn't have stopped the production I would stil drive a DS. Nobody ever improved this amazing car. A big shame they don't make the DS anymore.

    Magnificent car and scenery.
    Love the scene from slightly above, beside the waterfall 6.15 to 6.25 - extraordinarily beautiful car in magic location.
    In Australia in 1977 I acquired the same car at the age of 24. A Sable (gold) 1972 DS21 EFI Pallas with brown leather and headrests.
    Mine was a 5 speed manual instead of the iconic 4 speed Citromatic hydraulic clutch semi auto of your DEESE in silver, and it had a Sable roof instead of the dark roof.
    A loungeroom rocket, or serene majestic gentleman's study on wheels. Eminantly enchanting in both modes.... loved this car.
    The ultimate high speed cruiser on the Aussie open road. Everywhere low flying Citroen float style at 160 kph, before they dropped open road limits to 100 kph & freeways 110 kph.
    Bloody mind numbing limits which breed totally unskilled drivers muddling along in the 'fast lane' creeping past lorries petrified to exceed 110 kph.
    Mine was capable of 167 kph in 4th gear @ 6,000 rpm then slip it into overdrive 5th, which gave you 160 kph @ 4,300 rpm winding out to 185 kph - more on the downhill.....
    I sold the DS in early 1978 to take delivery of a new CX2400 EFI Prestige 5 speed with leather for a year in UK, followed by 5 supreme months touring Europe before shipment back to Australia.
    My week day car for work in the UK was a 2CV6 Club. The CX Prestige was the same wheelbase as the DS @ 123 inches and 160 kph in 5th @ 4,300 rpm, winding out to 195 kph on the drum speedo and tacho. Power self centring steering, footrests and headrests for the rear seat passengers, plus rear shelf sunshades and back door sunvisors. Even better than a DS in the rear... and a lot quieter.
    All 3 Citroens enchanting in their own ways...
    Later in 1986 the siren call of the Goddess enchanted me once more. A friend was selling his one owner 1974 DS23 EFI 5 speed Pallas in Electric Blue with Blue Jersey.
    It was a wonderful car. But the 1972 Pallas in leather would 'go harder' and held a more enduring enchantment for me. I was really in tune with this car. Even got it airborne once charging through desolate countryside at night with the swivelling high beam lights scanning our way ahead.... No other car leaves such an indelible imprint in one's psyche.... a car with soul.

    Magnificient.
    The Citroën DS is a Godess, or like we say in France, "la Déesse". Its curves are wonderful, and the "shark nose" with the 4 headlights makes it just a little more aggressive since 1968.
    You knew what you had to do when this face was growing in your mirrors on the motorway in the 1970s...
    I'm a young men but I'm dreaming about this car. This one is particularly beautiful, with its black roof/metallic grey body combination, and its brown tabacco leather interior. And it's a 21EFI (Injection Électronique) with the hydraulic semiautomatic gearbox...

    Je me souviens, dans les années 60´, 70´, lorsque j’en apercevais une dans mon rétroviseur, avec son museau de squale (en Espagne, elle était surnommée « tiburón « qui signifie requin), je me rangeais avec déférence pour lui laisser le passage.

    Left hand traffic? Where was this recorded?

    • @cray2349
      @cray2349 4 роки тому

      We filmed it in Counties Laois, Carlow, Kildare and Wicklow in the Republic of Ireland. The car is Left Hand Drive as it came from France originally. Ireland has Right Hand Drive as standard.

      @@cray2349 A lovely landscape! Perfect for a DS-trip! But I thought, in my ignorance, that Ireland had left-hand traffic. But why do you drive on the left side if there is right-hand traffic?

    • @cray2349
      @cray2349 4 роки тому

      I meant by my reply that we drive on the left side of the road and normally the steering wheel is on the right hand side as you sit in the car. As my car came from France my steering wheel is on the left hand side as you sit inside the car. This is known as a Left Hand Drive car. I just drive on the left side of the road because that's law in Ireland. In France you drive on the right side of the road. I hope this clears up any confusion on what I posted earlier..

      @@cray2349 Yes, you have to distinguish between Left Hand Drive Cars and Left Hand Drive Traffic!
      Then I was right about Left Hand Traffic i Ireland!
