Tenryu Rayz Spectra 61LL Unboxing, Test, Review. My MOST Expensive ROD!!!

- Which rod is best for trout fishing? Best trout rod? I Don't think there is the best rod, it's an individual opininion based on personal likes and personal way of fishing. Is this Tenryu Rayz Spectra rod the best you can get for trout fishing? I don't know, for me it is at this moment. That is my most expensive and most premium rod I ever had. And from what I ever held in my hands - it is the best.
What I like:
1. Very flexible tip, middle part sturdier and butt part is very sturdy. That is exactly what i was looking for and was hoping before i bought it.
2. Super accurate in casting.
3. Super sensitive.
4. Pleasure to fight small fish and has plenty power to fight giant trout.
What I don't like:
In short time of using it I can't see any bad things yet. Maybe will be able to recognise some of them after full season of use.
It could be slightly softer and a little bit more flexible - saying that just because it dealt with 59cm trout so easily and some of this power could be donated for more flexibility. But that just me trying to be picky.
Overall it is amazing rod and after every day of using it, I'm getting used to it more and i can feel it growing on me.
Just received 71ml Rayz spectra for my chub perch on my local big river . It looks awesome i couldn’t get your model for the trout but after using the 5 bait casting version I’ve ordered the 5 1 trout rod so I will be the lucky owner of 3 Rayz spectra’s ❤
You will have mind blowing collection 🤯🤯🤯💪💪💪 At the same time you will have great emotions while fishing 😁🎣
WoW! What a fight, what a fish, hats off 👏
Thanks 😁🤝🎣
The LL is "light light" which is between light and ultralight. Beautiful rod. I have one myself.
Make sense as it has way more power than UL but still flexible enough to deal with small ones. Thanks for info 🤝🎣
Great video, thanks. Those Tenryu's Rays are awesome. That's my next target. Import from Japan is the only reasonable option from Western Europe, you may also find surprisingly good prices in Latvia or Lituania. Cheers.
Thanks 😁🤝
They are awesome rods indeed, just very hard to get in Europe for good price. As you said sometimes in LT or LV there is good prices but usually not exactly model as you want 😅 actually i just checked Japanese Amazon and there you can find a lot of things for very good price, much cheaper than in Europe 🎣🎣🎣
I've already subscribed! Nice fishing areas and fishing as it is! About 15-16 years using tenryu rods in stream fishing (i mean fishing grayling, trout, chub - cierry 56 UL spinning and rayz 542 BL casting) and jig fishing (its lunakia 610mlt 21 CNT for perch), and i should say that all these rods are just great - lightweight, sensitive and just looking amazing, all the parts are just gorgeous. Very pleasant just to hold and to cast, catching fish is amazing!
Nice 💪 thank you 🤝 hopefully after some time I'll have such a nice collection of rods as well 😁 so far have only one top end rod and I'm very pleased with it 🎣🎣🎣
Good review and good fishing 👍🎣🎣
Thanks 😁👊🎣
Really nice video. Tnx for your effort and it helps to me to get a better view on my maybe next rod. I have already Tenryu but for big trout and salmon, and it is a my favourite rod for big game trout fishing.😉
So sorry for big fish but you make a one mistake! Next time big fish and shallow water means that your rod must "look" in the sky to provide scenario you just experied. To hold rod down in a such situation is a worst angle or position, belive me l have experience with a big trout.😉
Anyway congrats with a such a nice brown trout, tight lines!🤜💪😃
Thanks for watching 😁🤝 very happy to hear that I'm helping at least a bit, good motivation to keep doing what I'm doing. I have only one Tenryu rod but it is amazing rod indeed.
And thanks a lot for your tips and information, I'll remember all that on upcoming trout season 😁💪🤝🎣
Tight Lines mate 🎣
Sick video! I’d love to come trout or chub fishing with you one day :)
Thanks bro 😁👊🎣 Never know, maybe one day we will 🎣🎣🎣
Just purchased the bait casting 5 -1 rod for my bfs set up
Never tried bfs. Hope you will have lots of fun 💪🎣
Great video 👌
Thanks 😁👊🎣
Try Gloomis GLX TSR. Incredible trout rods.
Maybe in future I'll have a chance to try it. I'll keep using this one for now as it was expensive purchase 😅🎣
@@ManAndRod I hear you. These are not cheap at all!

Which leader knot are you using?
At this moment I'm using 5 turn Surgeon knot. Holds very good and easy to do while fishing. Just need to make sure braid and florocarbon coils together properly
hei! Very good review and fishing, thanks! Where is such amazing rivers?:)
Hi, thanks 🤝 Glad you enjoyed. River is in Yorkshire
@@ManAndRodthanks for reply! Im from Estonia and never had been in England and hadn’t wanted to travel there, but now I definitely have to go to England, Yorkshire 😂😂😂
@@ManAndRod and forgot to mention that I ordered the same rod after watching your review 🙈. Wold be cool if you will made a video about fishing trout in England: how much cost license, where to buy license, where to find trout, when can fish and etc
That's so cool, hope you will enjoy Tenryu rod as much as I do 😁💪 If one day you will decide go to UK, just write to me and I'll help you with license and with spots where to fish.
There is 13£ for 8 day licence, few pounds need to pay for fishing clubs for each day. If i will be available, i could go fishing together 🎣🎣🎣
LET'S GOOOO!!!!!!!!!
LET'S GO BROTHER!!!!!!!😁👊🎣🎣🎣
@@ManAndRod I've been waiting for this brother!!!!! YEEEEWWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm only 11 minutes into the video and I can't stop smiling. So happy for you bro!!!!!!!!!
@ManAndRod Amazing way to break in the new rod brother. Absolutely brilliant!!!!!
That is Easily the most enjoyable video I've watched so far this year. Well done bro, and HUGE congratulations on your new rod!!!!! 🤙🏻👊🏻🍻🍻♠️
Great video! Would you buy the rod again? I fish mainly suspending wobbler (arround 5g). I twitch them alot. Do you think this rod is strong enough for that? Cheers
I would like if would br a tiny bit softer rod. Would i buy again? It is brilliant rod but would be fun to try something new. Just because of curiosity. But if you twitch a lot, you should love it. I can twitch 7cm and about 7g lures with no problem ( if they don't have very big lip)
@@ManAndRod thank you man! I guess I will buy the rod.. I do have softer rods already. I can recommend TICT also from JDM!
Hope you will enjoy Tenryu as much as I do 😁 which model from TICT? Never heard before
@@ManAndRod I currently fish the Tict Sram EXR-66T-Sis its not that expensive and a really nice rod! It's only until 4g thats why I need a bit a stronger rod.
I noticed that most of trout rods up to 5g are very soft and most up to 7 or 8 g are way much stiffer. I can't find something in between 😅
How’s the sensitivity
I think it's great. Specially now i paired with Daiwa Airity ST SF reel and it became even more sensitive, i can feel even small lures and their action, every stone or grass. Very easyto understand what i touch.
For jigging on bottom is not that sensitive as for hard plastic lures but still great 😁💪🎣

Aciu 😅👊🎣
Hi, it's indeed nice rod 😃 that 59cm male trout was awsome 🤩 I noticed, despide the rod being designed to cushion the trout jumps well, you loosing high percentage of trouts to hook pulls. What you can do to prevent, or significantly reduce it, is to use the flexible loops hooks. Not sure if you can buy them in UK, but you can give a shot and try to tie few yourself 😉
Here is my tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/tG0bDx8VGqw/v-deo.html
Thanks for info, appreciate 🤝 i definitely gonna try to buy or make myself if I'll have time. Watched your video and subscribed 😁👊💪🎣
320 € this rod !! 😋
It is expensive but i like trout fishing too much 😅 🎣
@@ManAndRod This rod : 320 € in Japan and 920 € in France !!!! 😱
That's why i bought straight from Japan as well. It's much cheaper than in Europe
Hi, friend ! The company has a similar model RZ632S-L, tell me why you chose Spectra? I can’t decide on a choice 🫠
Hi friend 🤝
Spectra highest class from what they make. As much as i can remember they both are same blanks but some of materials are different. Just wanted at least once in life to try highest quality 😅 and price difference wasn't that big
