i love nausea. believe it or not but i never even heard of crust. went to my favorite record store and saw a copy of their one album "punk terrorist anthology" on CD and I was instantly hooked. before that i just basically listened to a lot of classic death metal. next thing you know i was deep in the rabbit hole of crust. antiscism, amebix, dystopia. nausea is still on of my favorites though.

If you are living in Minneapolis, Minnesota and saw him ! Whole Foods, you are probably right, you probably did see him. That is Al Long trading off vocals with Amy Miret. He used to be in a band here in Minneapolis, he was in the band Misery. I don't know if you were part of the Misery crowd, but, it blew my mind away when Al told me he was moving to NYC and was going to be singing with Nausea. I have the dvd and VHS tape both of them when they went on tour of Europe and it is mostly in Holland.
Saw State of Fear in the summer of '96 at a basement show at a punk house, it was so crowded that there was no room for me to actually go down into the basement (it was rather small ). Was forced to sit on the top step and the smell wafting up was quite sweaty and almost overpowering BO, but other than that the show was good. That show made me their fan, since even though I had heard them before, I previously had just dismissed them in my head as just another D-beat band, as I only had sort of half-assed listened to playing in the background when other people at the house played them. Now they're one of my favorite crust bands.

lol I remember when my band opened for them someplace, and after the show I was bullshiting with someone and said "yeah, love Amy's vocals, but not too hip on the new vocalist'. Who of course was standing right behind me. God I am so good at doing stupid shit like that. Playing in bands is tough, and people are too critical. Of course I personally think the band would have been better with just Amy on vox.
