I really enjoy thinking about her and her father as Doctor Watson and Sherlock. The show gives us Lakan as a Moriarty candidate then Suirei comes out from the shadows. It's not a big deal if MaoMao not thinking the same. Her crazy laugh cemented everthing in their place

If the emperor gets a new son, he will be moved back in the succession either way since the emperor hasn’t chosen an empress yet. The empress’s son will always be next in line before a concubine’s son. So despite being first-born, if the emperor gets a son from any other concubine and he marries that concubine, Jinshi’s “safe”.
