There was a time that people stopped spending money on “entertainment” and “travel”. It’s called 2020. Surprise surprise but they’re more than luxuries that improve quality of life. Produtivity is the magic sauce that controls prices, in the 60 productivity raised the standard of living. In the 70's and 80's offshoring kept prices down, in the 90's and 2000's low interests and cost cutting kept things moving. Companies have run out of ways to increase productivity and reduce cost, so prices have to move up.
Corporations can charge what they want for products and don't have to pay taxes. This will only get worse with the Right Wing in control. The poor are paying the taxes corporations should be paying. The US debt will continue to increase as the corporations get wealthy

Patience is a virtue. Time in the market beats timing the market. This is what I do -not financial advice: Keep investing half of your monthly or weekly investment by dollar cost averaging and doubling down when things are cheaper(I use the 200 day moving average as an alert to buy the stocks I have conviction in(when the price hits below that 200 day average)). As of 1/13/2025 at 8:25am, things look bad but we have to look at the longer term(1/13/2035) or (1/13/2045).
Inflation will be with us for the foreseeable future. Think about it... what causes inflation? Printing $, cheap $. We owe so much interest on our national debt and the only way to pay it is to print more $. We are in a vicious cycle. Until the cycle is broken, inflation is here to stay. Just pray that we don't have hyper inflation. At some point it will be inevitable. How long can we keep putting it off? 10, 15, 20 years? Just when all the 30 to 40 year olds are retiring? Will they be screwed?
When the incoming administration wanted "NO DEBT CEILING" added to the last bill it's not looking promising for less spending by government. This is why I guess I became more wealthy over the years because I bought stocks in companies that people keep buying in all times even as inflation rises and cost of goods increases, never decreases. So buy things on sale where you can really save some money . When the price of a bag of , let’s say chips goes down, to me it seems the more air is in those big bags. So you are getting more for your money but it’s only air. 😂
