Basically in the MV there will be one member who is going through something e.g. Vernon (break up), Hoshi (loneliness), DK (basketball player with hand injury), Woozi (loss of loved one, not Mingyu!!) Mingyu (accident in the past) but they always have another member who has eyes on them. Key message is that they always have each other’s back. They talked a bit about this on the bts video and MV reaction.
My thoughts on the song was "life is forever changing, it will have ups and downs, so keep close to those who matter to you" ... This album coming out at the time when the members are starting their military service is definitely a factor in how I listen to it. They've been close for over 10 years - and with Seventeen it's family for sure - and for the first they are going to be apart (for what some calculate to be 5-6 years); there's a level of helplessness and uncertainty that comes with that change. But a song like this is a reminder to each other that no matter what, they will still be there at the end of the day to walk with each other in their struggles. For me, the whole album is just about that. They've known it's coming and right before Jeonghan left, you could see some members were struggling (Hoshi talks about it on Suga's show; Seungkwan mentioned it too; there's an interview with Joshua and Mingyu where they also bring it up); so this album felt like a reflection of their feels. Seventeen tends to really produce songs that match their reality, so I was not surprised by the amount of "feels" that were in each of the songs. 5 out of the 6 songs are about love; but you can see that it goes beyond just romantic love to a more holistic love (unconditional love) that is directed to each other too.
Wow, thank you for the reaction. Finally someone voiced what I was thinking about the message of the song, but because I don't know Korean I couldn't say anything about it. Keep up the good work 👏 ❤
I think your analysis of the meaning is spot on - I have really been enjoying your reactions for a bit without commenting haha - hi. But anyway - I just wanted to let you know I have seen some theorize that this is an homage to the movie I ORIGINS, I don't know it at all (yet), but it does feel like a very Seventeen thing to do so I wanted to mention it! Thank you for always going beyond the surface!
The music video and this song is everything there is so much relatable stories and feelings. So the members are paired off someone feeling helpless and one a friend to help them through all situations to spill the feels. The accident just showing a sad scenario and his friend is taking care of him mingyu did not die. Woozi is just representing even when you loose a loved one it’s okay to cry but can also seek out to others for help. Dk hurt his hand which means he can’t play basketball and seungkwan is the friend that helps him through it. Hoshi is sad and lonely and the moment Joshua saves him his eyes widen. Vernon going through a break up and dino is there to help him. Wonwoo and jun showing happiness and friendship. Jeonghan is being chased by the the police but the8 has got his back to help him. Basically their bond is so strong their friendship will never be lost in any situation and they have their eyes on each other
Hello again!! I am so happy with constant seventeen reaction here! I really love how you recognized shift K3Y right away! I would suggest that you checked out the writers list also when reacting cuz it is fun to see Woozi-Bumzu collaborating with differents composers and also you may see different members participations for the lyrics. Seventeen dont have exact clear lore cuz it was never a certain concept (like pirate or fairies lol) but they have universe-kinda-thing cuz it was always be based by their members friendship, carats-seventeen relationship and tons and I mean tons of inside jokes weaved into their content and songs. which makes it fun for carats and a hell for baby carats to catch up with the root of where the backstory coming from. for Eyes On You - you gets it. and it is always open for interpretations so there is no wrong answer. and the line "give me your first wound" really are the essence of the songs. and if you checked out most of their b-sides as well. there is a lot of recurring theme for embracing all sides of each other which do translates to unconditional love. I really appreciate you took the time to talk about the music, tracks, beat, topline and arrangement cuz that is the fun part. and for contrast on the music and the lyrics is so Seventeen signature(?) as they always sings the hardest fun beat but the lyrics would hit you the hardest as well. and there is always hints of sadness within the fun beat. I may be biased but Seventeen Music sounded humane to me, in so many aspects. well at least how I enjoyed it. there is so many songs I would love to suggest but for versatility purposes, I would suggest four below. you can find lyrics video from Seventeenlyrics youtube channel for this as they always stated composers and lyricist within the video. 1. Shadow (OT13) - Face The Sun Album 2.Same Dream, Same Mind, Same Night (Vocal Unit) - Your Choice Album 3. I Dont Understand But I Love You (Performance Unit) - FML Album 4. I Cant Run Away (Hip Hop Unit) - Attacca Album. Wish for more Seventeen Reaction. till then, bye! Love, A Carat
I love your videos and I can't tell you how happy I am that you started doing seventeen videos...They are my ult group❤️💎 Also I really hope you guys could do album reaction as well..
in the mv there are duos and some members with other people - the theme is ‘eyes on you’ kinda saying that the members have eyes on each other, here to support one another: mingyu and scoups seem like agents or convicts because of the bodies on the floor in the parking lot - then you see the 4:3 screen that shows mingyu in an accident and scoups finding him and holding him - my interpretation is that everything in 4:3 screen size is the past, and that’s why scoups cherishes him more in the future seen by the fond look he gives him in the club, he has his eyes on him. woozi is at a funeral in 4:3 which means he lost someone special to him in the past but he finds his happiness in that party when others tell him to come join them. in 4:3 vernon is going through a breakup and dino takes him to the party to let it all go, hoshi seems like a celebrity who’s experiencing burnout and loneliness, as you can see in the mv people are trying to take selfies with him and he doesn’t have a genuine smile. joshua comes and takes him away to the rooftop where the real carefree party is happening. jeonghan looks like he’s running from the cops and minghao comes and saves him, taking him to the party too. dokyeom is a baseball player that hurt his wrist, seungkwan comes and gives him relief. wonwoo is with the dj, he makes the party happen (?), jun is embracing more connections with people he doesn’t know, on his way to the party!
there are a lot of theories that came up for this mv xd. but for me i lean more towards the theory that says, it is about the friendship that they have. they have their "eyes" on each other that's why when mingyu got into an accident, scoups immediately knew about it and went for him. idk really, after watching the behind for this, i still don't understand the whole plot hahahaha. also, love your reactions and analysis! i hope you react to more seventeen songs! 🥰
2:04 jun indeed has a very unique voice, I glad someone finally recognised that 😊❤
I don't know why but I feel like proud mother right now 😅
yes!
