Oh my god, CBG!!! I was entranced by the way your played that last match! With so little pratice time you owned that deck so hard! Your insights are starting to kick in in my playstyle, and damn, now I know why people get you to coach! Big BIG thanks from Brazil! (maybe your self awareness and self-criticism makes you fell I overblown the compliments, but I mean everything I said)

Congrats on the new sponsorship! I still haven't gotten sick of this deck yet but I figure in a month or two I'll be super tired of getting my face kicked by animated eggs. This is a really cool standard so far.
stumbled upon your channel and this video very coincidently after playing some arena today the first time in quiet a while. chose to try out this list after it caught my attention while browsing mtgoldfish, saw this video title, clicked because i thought maybe i can learn one or two things about how to aproach the deck and i instantly smashed that like and subscribe button like theres no tomorrow. really enjoyed your style of commentary.
Tried out this deck in the "Play Any Deck" event and went 10-2. With slightly better draw RNG it could have been 12 wins. This deck is an absolute monster but (like any other deck) can run into hiccups if you draw poorly (only card draw vs aggro, only removal vs control, no double W/B for Kaya's Wrath etc). Getting to an X=6 Dance of the Manse was surprisingly easy in games where I didn't get run over in the early turns and CGB's addition of Fae of Wishes felt really good.
I was quite pleased to see Dance sashay to the Top so quickly. Happy to see a go with Bo1 in mind. And to be honest, the sideboard fun-of appeases my inner Aintrazi.
tried this deck in the play any card event and is way too intense for me, you really have to plan every move ahead, great vid as always, excellent last game.
We can manse dance if we want to. We can leave your creatures behind. 'Cause your creatures don't masce dance, Only your artifacts and enchantments manse dance!. We can manse dance if we want to. We've got all our artifacts and non-aura enchantments As long as we abuse it, never gonna lose it Everything'll work out right
It's interesting to see shadowverse growing considering how often I used to play it. They really seem to be picking up the pace for sponsoring. I may want to recheck the scene now and see how things have changed. Also pretty interested in seeing if CGB will end up playing more tournaments.
I played against a version of this twice today and it's every bit as frustrating to play against as any esper control deck. I guess I likely have you to thank for people playing this in the play cue
@CGB When an opponent scoops and disconnects, many times the connection to the MTG server is severed and you get disconnected... That is probably what happened...
I like how abzan control is getting a rise in popularity cause people want to play doom foretold without having to craft Teferi 3 which was in previous meta what Oko is in this one
It seems like Doom Fortold functions mechanically similar to a Saga It's kind of a shame they didnt keep Saga's for the set that is based on fairy tales.
Am I wrong for absolutely hating this card? It feels a lot like Field of the Dead for me. If you build the right deck around it and the opposing deck isn't especially teched against it, it just gains insurmountable advantage over the course of a few turns, FOR FREE after the initial investment. If you play a creature base midrange strategy, all your stuff gets sacrificed, then eventually you have to discard and the control player gains life and card draw. Not to mention, they have completely freed up their mana for every turn after unless you somehow play a threat that requires some form of answer on their turn.
But no one is building a deck like this, it's already been built by one person and people just fucking netdeck it. So you're saying that I must be skilled to beat a deck like this, but my opponent doesn't because the deck is already built and fairly straightforward to play. My point stands that it absolutely shits on midrange, and unless you feel like your deck can win against losing 2-3 turns of tempo and opponent gaining card advantage and life while not having to invest mana for it then there's no real way to argue that the card is fair in that sort of matchup.
The thing is that the meta has been so pro aggro lately that I’m just happy that we have a viable control deck again. There’s also a lot of room for innovation with this list. Doom foretold is a good shell but the deck I built around used all enchantments and star field mystic which is a significantly different take.
Would love for you to one day have the experience to start building your own decks. The best UA-camrs to watch are the ones that craft their own brews.
Congrats on getting 271 in mythic .im playing with feather modified to get to mythic .maybe someday we play in a tourney.im grinding 5 to 8 hours a day off to get ther3
I’ve been playing a fires of invention grixis control deck, and this deck gets absolutely destroyed by it. This deck does a lot better against anything green than my deck though.
Yeah, I am loving the new Grixis deck. And you can even put a couple of Leylines of the void on the sideboard since it is so easy to cast ot with fires of invention if you didnt start with it on your inicial hand
Caio Lucas I only have 1, and I’m out of rare wildcards unfortunately, but yes. I can’t seem to build a good sideboard for the sultai/golgari food match up, which appears to be my absolute worst match up no question
I made a dance of manse list with star field mystic and only enchantments and I honestly dk why it wouldn’t make more sense to to play this without artifacts. it allows you to play cheap prison effects that you can still sacrifice to doom foretold when you’ve whittled down their permanents. Plus turn 3 doom foretold is absolutely absurd. I’m so glad to see a viable and exciting esper list in eld though! Glad I’m not alone in my degeneracy.
I downloaded Shadowverse when you played it on stream but I never played it. The fact that it's anime themed is really a turn off for me. Despite living in Japan I really don't like anime/anime aesthetics. There were some really cute characters in the video you shared today. Maybe I'll download it with your link and try and make a cute themed deck. Hahaha
The fact that you vocalize every part of your mental analysis is invaluable. You are teaching almost without trying.
That last game against the mono green deck was incredible. Amazing plays by both players
Damn, that game that starts at 39:00 is a really great one. Love the midrangey games that go back and forth.
Dang, that last match was intense.

22:22 I think the Teferi would have been left at 4 and not 1 since the ceratops did not have trample (only haste) or maybe I am missing something
You are right, but is it the right play?
@@covertgoblue A draw and another oath drain VS 2/2 Vigilance. I dunno, it's tough.

Thanks for the quality content, CGB. What an EPIC dance!-)
Using furniture and forshadowing to kill your opponent? Is this a Final Destination Deck?
LOL!
This is a hell of a deck. You have made me play Esper, I hope you are proud of yourself.
Sounded like you had a gun held to your head when you did that Shadowverse ad

CGB - posts Magic videos almost religiously
Shadowverse - i'm gonna sponsor this man's whole career
Really great final game. I love it when your videos end with a suspenseful match like that.
Thank you for introducing me Brian and the Arena Decklist podcast. My God is it amazing!

Congratulations, man!
The last match was kind of epic. Hold my breath until the last moment
As always, I enjoy the content and your thought process. Plus you have a good voice to listen too.....
I wasn't sure about this when I saw the list, but the gameplay has me sold. This deck is just oozing with synergy. It looks both fun and crazy strong.
A very simular deck got me into the top 50 of mythic!
Wow, these games were intense! Well played sir! I salute you!
I love the Claw / Teferi play, seems so unfair
Thanks CGB! Excited to give this a spin.

9:08 I believe that Doom Foretold would still have been better since it prevents your opponent from playing nontoken permanents.
Hmm where have I seen artifact/enchantment reanimation paired with eggs before? Eggs is back on the menu
"the doom foretolds are 4/4's"
Keep it up, this is great content. Subscribed
This is beauty, but how to survive monored?
Any advice to help this b02 formatted. I know we don’t know the meta yet but any direction for place holders?
I love this deck!! Thanks CGB
meh didnt get the code :(
Love your playstyle 👌
Keep going 🤙
At 27:00 you could have won the game by repeating the same step you did the turn earlier, right? Namely by dancing for an Oath of Kaya
18:26 Yes! At last someone who doesn't want to cast once upon a time ASAP. I was getting triggered everytime it happened before their draw.
Downloaded the game to help you , every morning after breakfast I watch your daily video :)
@CGB When an opponent scoops and disconnects, many times the connection to the MTG server is severed and you get disconnected... That is probably what happened...
Stomp shuts down the damage prevention clause of protection...

you could have saved teferi because the ceratops had haste, not trample lol
