Pujniya 🙏 Pandit Onkar nath Thakur ji was the Best singer of last century. He possessed voice capability which was uncomparable. Unhe Koti koti Naman ,🙏🙏🙏🙏

Omkarnath Thakur , a name we have been heard of whenever listen, talk about Our heritage , Indian classical music , different musical festivals , national musical meet , viz *** All respectable --- Tansen Samaroh , Gwalior , Delhi , Sawai Gandharva mahotsav , Sri Baba Hariballav music samaroh, Jalandhar, Dover lane music festival , Uttarpara music , Bangiya arts and music Parishad festival , Bengal Foundation music Sammelan , Baba Haridas music mahotsav , Kalakhetra Madras , Kala mandir , Hyderabad , Pt. Bhimsen Joshi memorial music festival , the great Kashi Vishwanath temple music festival , Banaras , Kashi Utsava , and other so many musical meet organised and Mandir parisar , campus , Gurudwara prabandhan , Mosque campus etc . Pranamo 🙏 Farrukhabad Gharana Tabla Ustad Late Keramatulla Khan for his excellency , performance, accompaniment with the maestro .
Whenever I hear Panditji, I have a feeling of deep pain and sorrow in my heart. India will never get another Pandit Omkarnathji at least in my life time. My thanks and gratitude to Subrata Babu for for presenting us such heavenly melody.

Mr.Chowdhury, you touch a chord in the heart when you mention that you are uploading what has been handed over to you by many many of your friends before it is too late. God bless you Subrata Chowdhury. I heard this Malkauns from Pt Balwant Rai Bhatt (disciple of Panditji) in Kanpur in 1981 and use to wonder how Omkarnath-ji's interpretation would be. Thanks for making it possible.

Very poor recording
Omkarnath, from the recordings I have heard so far, seems like a very average singer. I don't understand what all the fuss was about when he was alive.
You need to listen more
This is the problem with this generation, they hardly know anything yet feel the need to comment on everything. Just so as you know, the person who you term as an average was considered outstanding by Ustad Salamat Ali Khan. Pandit Kumar Gandharva often used to imitate him to illustrate "how a particular piece is sung in Gwallior". If you want to challenge your understanding of music try annotating his taans & see how complex they are.
r8rdarklord Or one could listen to his disciple Smt. N Rajam. If disciple is so great, how must the guru be.
@r8rdarklord, technique and complexity of taans are not the only thing in judging whether a piece of music is outstanding. Can you provide citations for those quotes?
@Nikhil Gaur, It is quite possible that I need to listen more :) I'm basing my opinion on what I have heard of him on youtube. There must be other recordings out there.
