- We're SO excited to finally introduce you to our rainbow baby, Isabella Grace Santiago! Thank you God for our healthy baby girl who blessed us on 4.3.21. We are overwhelmed with love and gratitude, our family and hearts are so full! Thank you all for the love, prayers and sweet messages 🤍
**** 𝘐𝘴𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘢’𝘴 𝘉𝘪𝘳𝘵𝘩 𝘚𝘵𝘰𝘳𝘺 ****
On Good Friday, I woke up with a strong feeling that I’d be meeting my Isabella very soon. Gabriel and I rushed around the house all day finishing up last minute projects and making sure our home was completely clean and ready to receive our baby girl. Through contractions I folded and put away a few more onesies and swaddles, G hung new curtain rods in our room, mostly unnecessary things but we were doing everything we could to keep busy and calm our nerves before active labor. We dropped off Ale for a sleepover at my parent’s house around 8pm. By 11pm my contractions were getting very strong so I got in the hot shower, hoping for some relief...I was trying my best to do most of my early laboring at home. By 2am the contractions were strong, the kind you can’t speak or walk through anymore, and we decided it was time to go to the hospital. In triage, they told me my contractions were “juicy” lol and I was already 5-6cm dilated. They could even feel the top of her head. They said baby could come very quickly from this point and literally within minutes, my contractions became relentless. Only a minute apart and pain that ripped through my body and sent me into shakes.
I did everything to stay focused, breath through each convulsion as they rushed me from triage to my labor and delivery room. By the time I got there my contractions had no breaks and my body was pushing. I held on so tightly to Gabriel’s hands, and even through the greatest pain of my life, I remember being so grateful to be going through this with him. I decided I wanted an epidural, I wanted to feel calm and experience this birth with more happiness and presence, less pain, and I’m so glad I did. Once receiving my epidural, I felt I could mentally relax and focus back in on the excitement of meeting my baby, our rainbow girl, our little miracle after our storm.
We waited a few more hours for my doctor to arrive and by the time she did, I was 10cm dilated. My parents made it just in time to visit with us for a few minutes right before the big push and I was so happy to see them and let them know they’d be meeting their newest granddaughter within the hour! Then we cleared the room, it was back to just G and I, a beautiful calm moment of thanks and gratitude for making it to this moment.
Time to push. My doctor set up a large mirror so I could watch my baby being born. I did two practice pushes, and when she told me I was ready, I dug in deep with all of me, and gave the greatest push of my life. All the love I already had for this baby, all the strength that I had built up through a tough past year, went into that push and out came my little love, my Isabella Grace! My doctor placed her immediately on my chest and as soon as Isa looked up into my eyes, her cries turned to calm, and everything, felt right again 🤍
Isabella, I can't believe I get to be your mommy. A privilege I'll thank God for every day. You are already my heart, your papi, sister and you are truly my everything, and there's nothing I won't do for you. I love you I love you I love you my love, welcome to the world! You make our family feel so complete 🤍

I also lost my baby girl last June at 22 weeks pregnant and I just gave birth to our rainbow 🌈 baby girl on May 12th, 2021. 🙏🏻 So happy for you, we can finally be at peace, but we will forever love and miss our angel babies 👼, one day we will meet with them in the gates of heaven.
