    A well-composed work, with the unusual feature that the second theme and closing of the exposition are in the key of the subdominant. Later, Schubert would occasionally use the key of the subdominant to begin the recapulation, but this is the only instance, that I know of, where that key is used to conclude the exposition.

      I seem to remember he uses the same procedure in the first movt. of one of his early-ish piano sonatas - in B major, i think. But, yes it's a favourite device of Schubert's to get back into the tonic key to end the movt. via the same bridging passages. And agreed- - a fine work.
