Severe Lightning Storm at Braga, Portugal (13/10/2023)

Rare severe thunderstorm with crazy lightning barrage at northern Braga, Portugal. The storm died quickly but another set of storms formed at night with a very slow movement, resulting in extreme rainfall. Some places got more than 150 mm in four hours.

Yes some areas here in NW Portugal were close to that value. But no major floods. This area is used to abundant rain.

@@21dropzone No major floods???? With that kind of rain!!?? Wow. I have to say, that is really impressive. I am used to major floods with rates of rain of about 5mm/hr.
Again, that is extremely impressive

Of course we had some floods but nothing special. If the worst of rain came to the city of Braga the floods would have been terrible. Somehow the rain avoided the most problematic areas. But obviously 5mm/hr should not be reason for major problems.
