Endo may not be as physical as Fabinho used to be for Liverpool or Like Rice is for Arsenal, but what he does bring is his positional awareness and game intelligence, reading the game well, and in recent games, he has demonstrated that he is nevertheless a destroyer. So, I disagree with your assessment of Endo.
Endo has been often dropping deeper to become a CB, allowing Trent to invert into a more forward position. Against Burnley, he was often seen moving between VVD and Quansah to create a back 3, and as the ball progressed forward, he would move back up to leave a back 2. Klopp has been very smart about his tactics and Endo is actually the best 6 for this system over Macca imo. With Macca, he’s not used to play CB so Trent does a double inversion, moving first from RB to the midfield, then slowly drifts between Konate and VVD to recreate the back 3/4. This allows him to not play with his back to the defense and can has the entire pitch in front of him to pick out a pass. His assist in the Arsenal game was a great example of how Klopp took away Trent’s weakness in the midfield (receiving with his back to the defense) and highlighted his strength (long balls and great vision)
He’s an underrated genius mainly because he doesn’t look pompous or take himself seriously. However he’s the most obsessed manager together with Guadiola that loves for winning
Mate when they got 5th position last season, Fabinho was there and made so many mistakes every game until he obviously lacked of confidence and the team relied mostly on the teenage Bajcetic that’s why Klopp didnt even persuade Fab to stay when the deal from Saudi came. For Endo this season, he wasnt picked to start for many months actually so his tempo and the understanding in the game had lacked at the time, but now totally different from what you said in the clip he won almost all the tackles both air and ground despite being 178 cm man. Respect Endo for his contribution in December without him Liverpool wouldn’t be top of the league today.
I dislike how nationalism patriotism results in people like you appearing coming out of the woodwork. I love what Endo is doing but less of the critic if one season below average for Fabinho. It was his joining our club that won us the Champions League and the premiership. Put some respect on his name. I’m fully behind Hendo but not for nationalistic reasons. Chill
@@etiennebunbury1285wtf are you on about? @hengowan has not mentioned a single word being nationalistic. It is you bringing that up as an Issue. Get a life!
I've loved watching the tactics evolve as the season has progressed. I think Endo has really found his role in the side now and gives us that ball winning cdm we need in the centre of the pitch. He was outstanding against Arsenal and particularly Odegaard. These not only formational but also philosophy changes are what set Pep and Klopp apart.
Endo has been excellent over festive period. Took him a little time to get used to pace if game but he looks like the guy who captained Stuttgart and Captains Japan. Big miss this January.😢
Some people doubted Endo's fit and ability but I knew he was going to be a vital piece once he fully settles in. We are definitely going to miss him this month.
Can't wait to see Robbo back in the team. I'm also glad that Jota has returned. Our front 3 (Diaz/Nunez/Salah) has always been issue with finishing and Jota could fix that.
@@jpgduff Salah has always been consistent but if you look at the front three, you can clearly see the issue. I'm just generalising the issue with Liverpool's forwards, not Salah alone. Also I forgot to mention Gakpo. Jota came back after injury and immediately scored a goal. Shows how clinical he is.
@@jpgduff I do quite like Nunez tho, his role as a false 9 is remarkable. But his unluckiness at finishing needs to be studied. Diaz declined so much this season. He's too greedy at times and does some wild shot for no reason. Not really sure what happened to him but I hope he can get back on track.
@@shinebanana4084 True, at this point it's not even an excuse anymore. He has all the attributes as a perfect striker, but finishing is not one of them. Which is a shame because that's what striker was supposed to excel at. On a good note, Diaz showed a good football today against Newcastle.

intersting tactics and seems verry effective once liverpool sign a big cdm im trying to link gegenpress, vrtical tikitaka and normal tiki taka together so basically linking pep and klopps theories and i belive i can be a good manager, ur videos really help me put them together thank you bro
It's my understanding Klopp was getting bored with his old team, front 3 played always same and if they tried something different, the results weren't there, back 4 was the same, Klopp tried to tinker in the midfield, but injuries and ineffectiveness always made him go back to the tried, tested and winning formula, this year, he's able to tinker with formations, experiment with different players in different positions and he's having fun again doing it.
Mate this is a really good video, enjoyed it! One thing I would add is that Liverpool aren't wed to the box midfield, they believe in fluidity so in some games you'll notice Trent at centre back or traditional right back spot when they are on the ball depending on the opposition (Villa earlier in the season, Arsenal and Burnley last night)
This is so spot on! Critically analysed bug i think you're giving away Klopp's tactics to very intelligent English manager who would soon find a way around it.
I have really followed your channel for a long time and I must admit that you’re the reason I started UA-cam. Obviously my video aren’t as quality as yours but I hope one day I can get to your level. Keep up the wonderful content. Also I’m a Liverpool fan

I haven’t looked at the stats but I’d be shocked to find out that “most of their goals are coming from midfield, or their inverted full backs” was true.
Interesting, but some of the timing doesn't seem right. For example, Trent was playing as an inverted full back last season, well before Fabinho and Henderson left.
Fantastic Video, thank you. Really well explained and concise, the only change I’d recommend is if you cut down the length of the introduction which would help with your viewer retention too.
However i do see weaknesses in the Tactic like against a team that presses relentlessly like Newcastle or Inter Milan we did see how newcastle forced Alexander arnold to make a mistake and that just like all these pressing teams are very open to counter attacks but still Jurgen klopp is an absolute genius
I think that is why they need Alisson Becker more than other teams. With this system they are the fewest conceded team in the league so far. So, despite all the weaknesses; I think this still works.
All I saw is that we are much more dangerous on the final third and we have all these intelligent overlaps and create space so well. But didn’t know how we do that. Thanks for the video.
Even though I'm a man city fan... I really wish to see liverpool and klopp to win premier league if they beat man city at the second leg match of 23/24 season.
Like it but I think I found the secret to maxing out the Liverpool Attack. I usually play Szobaslai as a CM on the right, then play 2 CDMs with Endo playing the A up the middle with MacAllister playing RP on the left of Endo. The key to this is pushing Trent up to playing IWB. Shift gears to Attack it Overload and watch as that right side of the Liverpool attack become legends. Overloads galore with Salah banging in am average of around 35 goals a season (4 sims).
So this season, there is no player as more important as trent for klopp. He is the man behind the system. Because of his passing and shooting abilities and most important thing is his attacking minded. Not salah, not nunez or anyone but trent. I couldnt imagine this system without trent. We've seen a glimpse of joe gomez trying to do the job but it seems to be like he focus more on the crosses while salah, szoboszlai are out of positions? In other word, there is only a few players around the penalty area. If the opposition gets the ball, this is where liverpool get caught vulnerable at the back because 3 players are out of positions on the right - gomez, salah and szoboszlai. But thank god endo improves a lot. With trent, he knows better. He doesnt need to go wide or the by line because we all know, the weakest area for liverpool is on the right back. That's why salah stays wide and rarely cut inside way too early. So that trent can switch back to his defensive duty while get covered by either konate or szoboszlai and endo.
When I watch Liverpool play the only thing that somewhat holds them back is some sloppy first touches in tight spaces that doesn't allow them to break the press or have as much space and time when they get to advantageous positions nears the opposition's box
Endo may not be as physical as Fabinho used to be for Liverpool or Like Rice is for Arsenal, but what he does bring is his positional awareness and game intelligence, reading the game well, and in recent games, he has demonstrated that he is nevertheless a destroyer. 👍
Lucas leiva 2.0
Agree with you. Endo knows where to be when to be. That's why he always wins aerial duels and rarely makes a tackle
Endo only gets booked when he needs to, not from making mistakes which is a really good sign for a ball winner
Endo has been often dropping deeper to become a CB, allowing Trent to invert into a more forward position.
