That nostalgia! It makes me rocordar that year 2008, when they gave me my first computer with intel celeron processor, 1 gb of ram and running windows XP. which I did my first surfing on the internet with my movistar router at a speed of 512kbps. I still remember that day. I was super happy !!!
This is a FAST machine! the sound of that drive brings back memories, its a really quick loading drive and system. thanks for sharing.

This machine was extremely expensive. When it first came out in November 1995, it was $6000, but in late 1996/early 1997 it was around $4000. I got mine in December 1996 for that price. The machine was very ahead of its time, and we didn't have to upgrade to a new unit until 2007.
Did you ever upgrade the RAM or the space? I find it hard to believe that you managed to use it in 2006-2007 with the original specs, unless you only used it for basic tasks such as Microsoft Word and e-mail.
@@BlueSpirit006 I barely used it online in 2006-2007, I used it mainly for old games and simple tasks. Dad used it for the same purposes, as well as simple webpages like Wikipedia & KISS websites (not a major computer user). UA-cam lagged extremely badly on it, but it wasn't a big deal to Dad as there wasn't much on it for him. Like I remember a video would take over 5 minutes to load, and then every 20 or 30 seconds, it had a stutter.
I think the RAM was upgraded once to I think 128 or 192mb after 2001-ish, but the processors were the biggest bottleneck. Yes, in the summer of 1998 it got another hard drive mainly for gaming storage. In 2003, I got my own laptop, which I used more often for online stuff.
Rocks! I also installed winxp on a new partition after my win98se and it works great on Pentium 3

Performance would be more adequate if the machine had 256MB of RAM at least. Firefox is a memory hog though. Maybe with older programs performance is OK.

even if it has 200 mhz and 128 mb ram its still as fast as my tosshiba a300 running vista
I wish they still had dual socket mother boards for the modern CPU's like a dual 2011v3 that can run two I7 5820K or the like and had the ability to over clock the two chips. They only seem to have them for the locked Xeon chips.
The i7's are locked for dual CPU configs, so you wouldn't be able to use two of them anyways. But I would also like dual i7's mobos^^

No, it's RTM. The words near to Microsoft Corporation that saying "© Copyright 1985-2001" were removed starting with SP1, so that's RTM version of Windows XP

no, it has 2 Pentium Pro processors, as the title implies...
If you'd put a faster HDD in that machine it would probably run a lot faster...

It’s need more memory, recommend 512MB for the Windows to not use virtual memory. While you upgrade the memory, install a SSD on it as well.
This machine is 26 years old! It’s not worth installing a SATA controller and an SSD on a system this old that can’t run operating systems newer than Windows XP.

2 cpu is great, but the ram required for a smooth windows xp is 256mb minimum...
128mb for windows 2000, 64mb for nt4, 32mb for nt 3.51
also raid means 2+ hard drives.
this machine should run only nt4.
2 identical drives on a raid0 would be great on it.
I where using xp on 128MB ram machine and it was decent(cpu where caleron 400Mhz).
Now even 32GB of ram is not enuff :(

Apparently that Windows XP is very slow. You can see that when you were starting Mozilla Firefox he took enough to open. But it's pretty cool.
apparently, the Windows Xp he has in the video is these original version with no service packs because on the load screen it says which edition it is.
That XP is slow with Pentium II. but my Pentium 4 run like that Win XP when boot Win Vista.

I have had XP on my old single 200 MHz Dell Pentium Pro before --- I had to change or mod the setting on the motherboard to speed it up --- Modding the Memory to 256mb may help out. My 1995 (DEC) Digital GL 2600 I am still doing modifications to it ! Need a adapter board to mod up the memory some how ! Where to get one these to plug into the memory slot !
You can buy two cheap rams from ebay(512 mb each) in case you have two slots. Then you'll have 1 GB ram

He could possibly be using a computer that was made before ACPI, he did mention in the description that it may have originally came with Windows NT 4.0 Workstation

That computer is probably made before ACPI was available.
The power button is in the front means that this computer has ACPI. Power button is not a real switch but only a device used to send signal to the motherboard, then the motherboard will send control signal to PSU.
It's so slow, maybe Windows 2000 can run better on a machine like this.

Make partitions with a program. I have 3 so far. Win98, WinXp, Win7
Just make sure Win98 and Win7 will be installed on primamy(not logical) partitions. WinXp setup runs through Win98 and Win7 setup runs through WinXp. Just make sure you have created the partitions.

Leouch not exactly. XP won't boot on anything lower than Pentium, eg. i386, i486, AMD 5x86, Intel Overdrive etc.
