I walked down the aisle to this song on my wedding day me and my man (RIP) loved the original and loved 4 hero. This remix will always be one of my favourite pieces of music ever.
Heard this when I was 16 on the radio and never knew what it was but always wanted to know, it came up in a playlist yesterday, I am 41. Still as amazing as the first time I heard it... Love
Nice cover. I still remember when The New Rotary Connection did this in 1971. I miss Charles Stepney (producer, and genius producer of EWF until his untimely death, shortly afterwards) and I really miss my girl, Minnie Riperton, one of the band members. This song really is THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING.
I was today years old 56 in December, when I found out this was a remix from 1971. I was 3 or 4 and it all makes sense why I fell in love with this and the "original" remixes. This D&B version is great and the other Nuyorican version is the one that brought tears. It is more gospel...GOD/DESS spell.
Man, I've not heard this track for such a long time. I had forgotten all about it. It brought tears to my eyes. So glad I got to hear it again. Beautiful track. 👏👏❤️
I could listen to this forever. When people ask me what's your favourite song, it's hard to choose, but I've come to this, this is my favourite song of all time. Thank you rotary connection, & great remix 4 hero.
I should copy/paste your com' because this is exactly what i feel about this pure gold song. First time i heard it was on Fun Radio (Paris 101.9 FM) in April 1997. I only found it back in 2004, with name and title etc. (there was no service like Shazam back then :) This song is everything.
Yes! Yes! I remember hearing this on Hot Ice in the Afternoon, from 2 PM - 6 PM on WCLK, Clark Atlanta University radio station. They played acid jazz, some of the most amazing art work in Atlanta! This is when I first heard of Masters at Work!
OOH MY GOD. I have been searching for this song for years. It was the transition music of a TV station in my country for years. Almost 20 years ago now. So happy to find this
This tune still moves me. I feel such a strong nostalgia when I hear this. It brings me back to high school when I first started listening to drum'n'bass and jungle. Blissful times, for sure...
the feeling the soul that this song exudes with it complexity that ranges from beautiful to magnificent to just a pure work of art. my soul is weeping on the inside , and love is streaming down my face and its awesome.
Time to bump this one up again :). Summer in Norway - sun went down couple hours ago but is just about to reappear. Nothing better than listening to this gem :)
Man, found again! Heard this in the end 90s on a radio station & played after it on my Rhodes several years after without finding this gem anywhere... Love the Rhodes chords in it so much.
Hard to put into words what this song means, that hasn't already been said, apart from, what global pandemic. Almost forgot. I'll be playing this until I die.
What more can be said about this album but pure class that will stand the test of time. what a collection of so many great artists under the those that live up to their joint name, masters at work.
heard this track today on chilled soul radio station! downloaded the album immediately! still great to know there’s still amazing music out there to be heard!
Good to see some love for the original artists who did this song. I have to say this version of the song is excellent. I have never heard a bad version of this song. I really enjoy the modernistic/futuristic vibe of the MAW - 4-Hero's version. The song has always been ahead of its time, tho.
hmmmmm I don't know about that minie had a quality that was so great in her voice that made the original shine. shot the complexities were on another level not to mention it sounded so much more organic. non the less I like both.
😕 god this song is supernatural... reminds me of places I've never been. Timez yet to be had... 😏 girls to love. Ergggh I can't stay away from ethereal space... drain me quick b4 I explode. 🙂
Close your eyes & this will drift you off to another place. A proper summer track. 4 hero you absolutely smashed it with this. I can't understand with the crappy mainstream music that's being produced these days, tunes like this are overlooked. This is so much classier and well produced than the likes of Katy Perry, Calvin Harris & all that other shite people are doing right now.
Lord have mercy,I haven't heard this joint in years, until tonight when FuzedFunk played this at the end, this version's better cause you have the best of both worlds!
I keep going back to this because it's a random Journey I gotta make, cause physically I cannot. I've given up on so much and yet I'm still here. I feel like it's pointless to try. but people made this wonderful great, thoughtful song. Why am I limiting myself? The sky isn't the limit anymore. I just need to be free. Free from this technological world.
I bought this CD back in1999, just by the musicians on the back cover, was i surprised by the great songs on this cd, and this song is my favorite followed by the eddie palmieri tune..its solid gold allright...
I remember the DJ's at Body and Soul NYC club dropped this track on one hot, summer Sunday afternoon of 1997 on the dance floor! It was like a spiritual experience as everyone on the dance floor went into modern, interpretive dance form, feeling the music, inside and out....It was Beautiful! God, I miss those days of NYC! Amor xoxo
Whoever loves this amazing piece of music is definitely a friend of mine..
What up homey! ;)
Hello, though this remix sounds quite good, i love better the original version, much more powerful : ua-cam.com/video/X5IMA6iqL5M/v-deo.html

That is awesome man. I am happy you found it.
Same with me man except I was 17 or 18 when I listened this on the radio & found it now in my 40s again. Crazy
Wow, I'm Glad you found it!!!
Same here :) Heard it on Fun Radio Paris April 1997
I also heard this in Lagos Nigeria when I was 14,,,listening to it now in Mirandela Portugal
Life suddenly becomes simple when you hear this song…
Holy shit what an astute comment. You're totally right... haha
So well said😊

This remix gave me chills the first time I heard it 20 years ago, it still does.
Same, I’ll never forget the first time I heard it then. So great til this day.
This whole album had many treasures, wonderful, uplifting. Bring back those days of my youth : )
This is MUSIC for the SOUL and SPIRIT! What a BEAT! A CLASSIC! The JOINT! Peace and Love! I completely forgot about this song until today!
Wow I never knew all of this! Thank you

I want to say Ken Batie (RIP) played this on "Hot Ice" but it's been so long.
Exactly
First heard this on Radio 1 Pete Tong on a Fri night in ‘97 such a tune.

What’s not to love about this - 4Hero keeping that sublime early 70s soul vibe alive!
the feeling the soul that this song exudes with it complexity that ranges from beautiful to magnificent to just a pure work of art.
my soul is weeping on the inside , and love is streaming down my face and its awesome.
Such a lovely way with words, and a fitting tribute to a sing that emanates a wealth of emotions, pride, ecstasy and rhythm
Timelessly stunning!
Randomly heard this on a Sunday morning. I was luck enough to come in at 2:58, and hear the most beautiful part of this song. Truly masterful.
Switches from phenomenal to anazing!

I LOVE THIS TUNE!! it reminds of a bright sunny day in late May....warm not too hot!! You can feel the ENERGY!!!
This is the 4Hero remix of the song, with a little drum n bass jungle music vibe. Absolutely fabulous! :-)
One of my favorite.im a drummer I have so many but definitely on my top 10
Gary Varalla I bet you like the drumming on Man With A Movie Camera by The Cinematic Orchestra then.....I'm sure the latter were influenced by this.

Polyrhythmic not jungle
This was a band way ahead of it's time, and this remix does the song justice. Respect, mos' def! Miss Phil Upchurch's guitar, though.
Just a timeless classic praise be !
A good antidote to the cold winter months when driving to work. Love it
Absolutely an ambient, transformative work, that makes the the heartbeat match rich, syncopated passion punctuated by percussive perfection!!!!!!!
This peice of music is life itself
it's the guitar at the beginning that does it for me, its pure soul
The cure for a case of the blues. This and "It's alright, I feel it". Super powerful.
I've just bought a car. It has a CD player stuck playing one CD, this is track 2. I'm totally hooked!
Back when tunes were tunes and people didn't sing like auto tuned robots. Love this.
What a treat!!!! Love this melody and message!!!!!
4hero at their best. Timeless track that never really gets stale.
+B Klein
Easily on my top list, what a great tune
+B Klein - there is many from this year / genre but this track blows them all away . . best drum n bass remix ever
Anything Dego and 4Hero touch from that era is golden dude
A lovely dnb mix of a reimagining of an obscure funk track...just great from start to finish
It's probably one of their best. Indeed from start to end there is no contesting it, its still a solid track. Makes me wish I still had the CD
Loved this right from the first time I heard it on Pete tong radio 1 many years ago
awesome remix adds new flavour to the already great original!

This remix is WAY better than the original. Love it. Love the beats
a drum & bass version??? had no clue. . . but I've loved this song since college, circa late 1990s-2000s and still today
1970's/Washington DC/Rock Creek Park/Dupont Circle. Played the Rotary Connection version. Explosive in my brain right now.
