I think that requesting dismissal intermittently is common and procedural. Sometimes it works-sometimes it doesn’t.

Larry seemed to be saying that consistent with his previous cases, the court will not require him to name his sources because he is acting as a journalist. Jakes goal imo was aimed at stopping the rumors about him. Frankly, what Youngblood said was not particularly damning relative to other rumors.
I would be surprised if this case isn’t settled with an nda. There are too many potential land mines for Jakes. Youngblood’s history is already public. Saying that Jakes “tried” to kiss him decades ago, given what he said about the other two pastors, is tame. It very well might have meant little had it not been magnified by Larry’s claims about having knowledge of more salacious allegations by others for whom he has receipts.

Bishop, Jakes is asking for a expensive and a limit time discovery, The court document states, the court will not exercise it's discretion to permit expedite discovery to occur before the rule 26 conference. the court has a conference with both parties to which their discovery will be known to the courts. and they will proceed.
