  • 7 Signs You Need To QUIT Your Job (When To Leave A Job?) How to know when it's the right time to quit? When should I quit my job? When to quit, is it time to quit your job? Have you remained at a job you didn't like? Throughout my career I have stayed at a job I wanted to leave a couple of times. Years later, I see and understand the factors which make us stay at jobs we don’t like or enjoy:
    - The money, financial insecurities and worries
    - Not being sure of what we really want
    - Self-esteem issues, all of them related to fears of different types. Because Fear KILLS MORE dreams than failure EVER will.
    Realizing when to walk away from a job is actually challenging. I wish I had that extra knowledge to analyze the signs and to recognize when it’s time to move on and quit. That is also a reason why I want to share these 7 key signs that you should quit your job, and tips to quit your job the right way at the end of the video.
    Signs you should quit your job: 1. Your boss is toxic and makes you miserable.
    75% of 10.000 workers questioned, who voluntarily left their jobs, said they have left jobs because of their bosses and not because of the position itself. So it’s clear that people leave managers, not jobs. Just know that you are not the first person to quit a job due to a toxic boss.
    Sign 2. You are consistently bringing this toxic energy into your home
    A toxic boss or a toxic work setting will eventually make your job unbearable, aside from making you feel completely miserable. If at some point you’ve realized that the working environment is toxic, it means you should already be looking for a change.
    Number 3. You dread going to work. Do you go to sleep every night dreading the next day of work? You feel you are working on something deeply unsatisfying, you simply have no desire of going back there…
    4. You are burned out. You come to the office when it’s dark and you leave late in the evening hours when it’s dark again. Sometimes you continue to work on the weekends. You don’t remember the last time you’ve seen the blue sky and the sunlight during the day.
    5. There’s No Room for Advancement: You’ve been in your position for years and there are no opportunities for growth on the horizon.If you feel that you’ve stayed for too long at your role, maybe it’s time to check options to move on.
    6. You are stuck in your comfort zone. You can do your job with your eyes closed. You are too comfortable at work and it’s been a while since you’ve learned something new.
    7. You don’t share the company’s values. You're uncomfortable when you think about the company's values or culture. Some of the decisions they make seem so far from your way of thinking, that, it even feels embarrassing... They are just not aligned with your own ideas or beliefs.
    If your company keeps firing people and reducing the staff, it eventually will get to you. No matter how safe it might feel right now, it always gets to you. Take control of your career and break free, you will feel liberated. Changing jobs or quitting will help.

    The most common reason why people leave jobs isn’t about money believe it or not, it’s about being under appreciated, overworked and disrespected by fellow workers and management.

      I absolutely agree. I mentioned money as one of the main reasons why people do NOT leave toxic places. But once people leave, it's definitely due to those reasons you listed. It's not as complicated treating people with respect, like every human being should be treated with.

    • @ajvf97
      @ajvf97 4 роки тому +11

      The employee evaluation system is also manipulated. I constantly go above and beyond what is expected of me, yet recently, I got my yearly evaluation, and my boss marked all of my scores as just meeting expectations. So, the harder I work, the more work I get, and the more I get disrespected, especially because my lazy co-worker has been giving minimal effort during the 14 months she has been at the company. Backwards company culture.

    • @myemmotion
      @myemmotion  4 роки тому +7

      @@ajvf97 The employee evaluation depends completely on a supervisor/manager and unless it's all automated, the feedback is solely relative to how good is your relationship with your manager. It's not about how hard you have worked and the effort you have made.

    I quit my job last month, I was literally having anxiety and panic attacks on my way to the office. I became depressed stopped eating and doing my hobbies that made me happy. I told my employer how I was feeling verbally and by email and they still didn't change a thing, so I stopped showing up at work. One of the supervisors called me apologizing that they didn't do much to help me and asked if there was anyway I'd consider coming back. Taking on the work of 2 or 3 people and getting paid for one while being burned out is definitely one due to the leadership’s failure to maintain a full staff. The employees should never have to feel the heat for that. And they expect you to still perform normally, meet expectations, be the POC for several customers, and be a team player.

    My supervisor basically insulted me to my face. She was upset when I had signed up for a shift where there was nobody there to work with me. I'll admit, I am MUCH better with a helping hand and guide, and that I'm kind of a slow learner, but come on, that's no excuse for how direct and opinionated she was. Has that loser ever heard of a thing called tact, or even faith or potential? You shouldn't underestimate people, especially to their faces! When she asked me if I thought I could do the shift by myself, I said, "yes," and she disagreed. She said she didn't think so, was all "I've told you not to sign up for shifts by yourself, I've been very clear about that" (something like, that, so I'm not perfectly quoting her), and she told me I need someone there to give me instructions and guide me. She was basically saying directly to my face that I was not independently capable. I guess you could say she was implying I was helpless. Either way, she TOTALLY indicated she had no faith in me. I'm mad at myself for not standing up to her. She intimidates me when she's in a bad mood, but still, at the very least, I should've told her I believed in myself, to subtly hint, "Unlike you, so stop with the underestimation, you bigot." Was she indeed being toxic, or is the idea all in my head? Is this a good reason to quit the job?

    I just joined this one company 3 months ago. Its a great company, everyone seems so motivated and didn’t have time for other things. We have 3 days a week training. And sometimes more! I find it’s draining me, and I just realised I’m not motivated to do it at all. I feel anxious all the time. My new job requires me to talk to a lot of people, and I found it exhausting. I’m not sure if I’m the one who is lazy, or this job is just not for me. Whenever I’m down, it makes me feel guilty. 😔 I’m stuck 😔😔

    • @myemmotion

      So the company is good, the environment is also motivating, it is the job itself which doesn't make you happy, right? Do you think you can get used to talking to a lot of people? I think in your case you could try working on this aspect, maybe if you feel more relax about it things would improve?
      You shouldn't feel guilty at all, just analyze all the pros and cons, to understand what are the things you can control and what are not.

    I hate my job. I’m a server and they give us way too much unpaid side work. Everyone there is in a little clique and they all are complete nerds who do acid and smoke weed all the time and have no desire to better themselves. I can’t wait to find somewhere else to work.

    It sure was a lot easier when I was a lot younger. I feel like my manager is trying to set me up to be fired when I will be 65 next month, and I still have to work another 3 years to pay off my house. Worst part, she got HER job because the former VP (who was let go) hired her (they are buddies) and screwed over the manager that we had before her. In my 40+ years of working in several industries I've had exactly TWO female managers that were decent. The rest were more determined to keep you from succeeding because of their own insecurity....and heaven forbid you are more knowledgeable or skilled or liked....you're dead meat.

    • @myemmotion
      @myemmotion  3 роки тому

      That is awful and is indeed very demotivating. Why do you think she is trying to get you fired? How long have you been with the company?
      The analysis that you've shared is very interesting. What about the male bosses? Did you find them easier to deal with? Were they good and empowering leaders?

      @@myemmotion good morning I've been with the company about two and a half years. My work history is over 30 years as an account manager working with very large clients. My background is not only similar to hers and I'm older then she. I have developed a more strong and confident personality simply because of having to compete with or against men. I've actually had a past manager tell me I gave off a very male energy w/e that means. I have a good relationship with my former manager at this company and I understand that this woman seems to have a deep insecurity to the point other managers feel like they have to be very cautious do not set her off. The men were better at empowering overall, while the woman were more concerned with being perceived of being in charge and were much more micro managers. I will take working for a man any day over reporting to a woman. I don't think I've ever seen a strong man working for an insecure woman.

      @@myemmotion I'm going to add that after going to my HR person and telling them that I was very uncomfortable and wanted to look for another position within the company and I asked her to share my resume with her Talent people the week following my doing this I was written up. Some of the things for which my manager state was an issue are misleading and downright dishonest. She included a couple of conversations that I had initiated with her to clarify something oh, and she put those on her grievance list as having to verbally warned me. What!? She even made a statement and they were just bullet points really but that I was to never write an email in all caps. I've never written an email in all caps though I will capitalize certain words as stress for internal people and to make them easier to read and identify. She also made an accusation of what she said I wrote them email email instead of what I actually wrote. The next thing she accused me of was not being logged into our business Skype for three hours one day several weeks ago yet my coworker and teammate has been logged out for over 3 weeks

      @@conniefoxx9813 In 95% of cases, HR will side with the manager. That's how it works in most of the companies. However you can obviously show/resend the "actual" email you sent. Making up lies to make someone look bad is the whole new low.
      My advice is to keep it as "business related" as you can. If there is an option of changing to another department that would have been the best option. Either way, it's no win situation, so try not letting it affect your overall well being.
