The little girl in the first photo was my daughter, Gracie. She was about 5 when that was taken and she was in treatment for leukemia. She survived leukemia, but developed a brain tumor when she was 18. She passed away October 28th, 2019, at nineteen years old. Taylor was a so sweet to Gracie and treated her like a princess. Taylor was just as delightful in person as she is on tv or on stage. I will always be grateful for the kindness she showed to my little girl. Gracie was an inspiration to countless people and I'm so thankful her memory lives on!

For those of you that are curious, it’s the same song lyrically but the mixing is improved, instrument separation was enhanced because they re-recorded everything, and her voice is far more refined from years of experience at this point. Little details such as the violin, an instrument that was drowned out in the original is now much more clearer, this is the version Taylor had in mind. Of course, she didn’t want to take away anything from the original that helped her grow, but this is the enhanced rendition of the song.

As someone who wasn't too into Taylor back when this song came out the first time, I'd like to apologise to Taylor for not getting it back then. She is so incredibly talented, humble, and kind. For real many years ago I had a dream I was Juliet and I was having trouble deciding what gown to wear when the maids were called by my “father” and I ran to the garden looking for “him.”.
I saw him with lantern in hand and we talked for a short time but after kissing I saw the shillouette of my “father” from one of the windows and I realized I had to return to my room or we would get caught. He assured me he would see me again which made me cry.
I remember his words, (Juliet, My love, don’t weep. Parting may hurt but I will always keep you in my heart.)
So he wiped my tears and kissed me and hugged me. I ran holding my gown and the rain poured on the way as if the sky cries for us. And I managed to make it back in time luckily I was not caught wet. The memories of the dream always takes me to this song 😭

Usually re-recordings never turn out the same...they usually sound cheap and quickly done. Not this one. Taylor is always fantastic and this version is just as perfect as the first one that came out...if not better by the maturity of her beautiful, one of a kind voice.

@@abrahamaby8416 There is different version because Taylor does not own her previous albums and songs including this one. So she is re- recording them, and would finally be able to own her work. As for the differences, her voice is much more stronger in this than the old one( I guess) and someone else in the comment section said something about guitar as well. If you want to know more about the re- recording part, then google it. :)

@@thanarieracini8376 all her songs before Lover are not exactly hers anymore even though she WROTE them because Scooter wouldn't return her masters so she's rerecording all her old songs so that they'll be belong to her and also so that swifties will be able to listen to her songs without having to feel bad for giving Scooter money. And also all her rerecordings is in her current voice now so we can appreciate how much her vocals have matured compared to the older version❤️
You can definitely tell she’s matured a lot, but she can still get that feeling that it’s a really young girl singing it. Can’t wait for the next 6 albums
The fact that she sang this again, to me this version of the song doesn't give me a "Fairytail" or "Romantic Fantasy" vibe anymore. It feels more nostalgic to me, as if she's looking back at the memories she had with someone she loved and thinking "I wouldn't change a thing" I know she didn't really change anything about the song but I still love it nonetheless.
All released in 2021 at this rate.
