Non Lethal Mass Bee Viewer

This is version 7.2 of a means of mass collecting bees in a net and subsequently viewing them. After viewing they could be let go, photographed, individuals extracted for collecting, or the whole bag of bees retained.

The only COMPONENTS are a section of 4 in. pvc pipe, a stick, binder clip, plastic ziplock bag, duct tape.

PROCESS.
Bees (or other insects) are collected in a net.
Specimens are shaken to the end of the net.
Close off the net with your hand above the specimens.
Invert net over your harm while holding the specimens closed in the tip.
Insert specimens, net and arm into open end of pvc pipe and into the plastic bag.
Open hand and at the same time use your other hand to pull the netting further over your hand and arm while flicking your fingers a bit to cause the insects to emerge into the bag.
Begin to extract your arm and bag from pipe while waving pipe and bag bag and forth forcing insects to the end of the bag.
Remove Binder clip (which has kept the bunched up end of the plastic bag tight against the pipe).
Pull bag off pipe and close around stick and slip up and off.
Flick specimens to the end, if necessary.
Flatten and close bag to view insects.
Take pictures, notes, extract individual specimens etc.
Bag can be opened to allow insects to leave or bag can be closed and specimens saved.
