As a mom of 4 yes!!! I agree, I would completely love to spend the day with my kids and then come back after the kids are in bed with a baby sitter to come and enjoy the rides I want to ride

Extended Evenings are SO worth it. We always make sure to do at least one of them every trip cuz it’s so amazing feeling like you’ve got the whole park to yourself!

Tron is a 58 second ride from when the ride vehicles start to when they stop. Just when it starts to get fun, it ends. We rode it during AP previews and that let us know it isn’t worth the wait. We no longer waste time waiting for such a short ride.
I agree. It’s a cool ride and the line queue is sick, but the ride is way too short to wait an hour+

The perk being deluxe only is what makes it such a great perk. Less resorts offered means fewer people.
I love that it is only deluxe, it makes DVC even more special.
This is also available to guests staying at the Swan or Dolphin and at Shades of Green. We stayed at the Dolphin during Christmas and used extra evening hours at Epcot on Christmas Day, and we were able to ride all of the big rides. Remy’s was a walk on, as was the virtual queue for Guardians. And our room at the Dolphin was not all that much more than a room at the Moderate or Value resorts.
I wondered if they had them during the Christmas season. We are staying at the Dolphin the first week of December.

Oh man. Tron is #1 for me in Magic Kingdom. I heard it was short so I managed my expectations, but it blew me away. We loved it so much and wanted to ride it 50 more times!
I would LOVE this!! I’m a night owl and I adore the parks at night…I feel like I always get so energerized in the parks at night!

I used DVC Rental and got a night at the Polynesian for $300! The rack rate for that night was over $700. Best tip you ever gave me!

I have the fondest memories of ERide nights back in the day but of course it was way cheaper and was for even the value guests but empty magic kingdom and just riding rides over and over was so magical

The answer for me is yes. I am a night person and loved going back to the park when it was not crowded, especially during very crowded park days.

Extra magic hours was till 3am at Magic Kingdom and it was amazing. I wish they would bring them back. I only went to the theme parks at night and only for the magic hour nights. No fancy rides back then.
I chaperoned a dance team in March and the only time I got to escape the crazy lines of spring break/dance competition crowds was the extended evening hours and was so glad I booked myself a DVC room for the perk.

Love this video. I live in so cal magic key holder n live the after hours anything sooo much better less people n like u said get pics n rides in minutes that you couldn't during the day. N here at night it's just so magical. U all say it's dark we say it's pixie dust magical. ❤😊

Hollywood studios and the skyliner were awesome. And storm along bay was the best.

💖 Loved the 101 and planning tips regarding Disney Park Extended hours and am impressed with savings that can be obtained at Deluxe Resorts through DVC Rental Store. 🌟 Our family involves ages ranges, interests, abilities and conditions (including Autism) so strategy for us is key to make the trip enjoyable for all - to me the PERKS of park extended evening hours allows the Guest Party to also fit in during the day with park rides: Photo passes, shows, parades, character greets, indoor dining at restaurants and flexibility to choose times at favorite rides with shorter lines - Whoo hoo!! 🎉🥰🎊

Was there the same night, hit the same rides just in a different order. I skipped genie + and did these heavy hitters during the hours. Had a great stay at the Grand and also tried coconut dole whip for the first time! It was amazing, I was like wow Molly was right! 😂

Monday’s for Epcot. Wednesday’s for Magic Kingdom.

We did extended hours last July. Definitely a lot more people than your April experience. We did have some waits and that magic shot still had a long line. It was far less crowded than during the same day and I think well worth it
I was going to do extended hours, we were there when we could.... but having been at magic kingdom since 7am (early entry), we were just done by midnight, and the extended hours were from midnight-2am. That said, we still rode almost every single ride that day, so not mad.
I didn’t even know that they served coconut dole whip. Will need to try that one 😎

With regards of the 6pm virtual queue. I know if you get the 7am one you can’t get the 1pm one but for a guess these don’t effect the 6pm

We did it on our last trip, with MK and Epcot. It was worth it to us.
Less crowd, we walked on mansion, pirates, big thunder and had a Tron VQ.
We did after hours at animal kingdom, there were only 5 of us on Everest and we literally ran to the front, because it was dark and scary, lol!

I actually would say it HAS wiped out any need we have for genie+ or lightning lanes. My older kids don't even feel the need to be in the park earlier than noon so we can move around leisurely and hit what we can hit-then after fireworks we get every single popular ride with very little wait. Weigh out the costs ESPECIALLY if you're going Moderate Resorts usually...they can be $300+ per night and some of the cheaper rooms through DVC rental store are under $300. (Not on holidays though -that's just begging for high costs AND crowds)😎

Used DVC Rental Store for our trip in Fen 2025 and book The Riviera for the price of Coronado/Caribbean.
We had a very different experience during Deluxe Extra Evening Hours. On our night, MK had fireworks at 9, park close at 10, and extra evening hours from 10pm-12am. After fireworks regular park guests rushed to get in the rides before close, and lines were at 45 minutes to 90 minutes beginning at 10pm. This defeated the entire purpose of the extra hours! We went in June. We will not bother with extra hours at MK in the future.
How disappointing! I’m worried this will be the case when we’re at MK this June.
When do they announce which parks are open for extended hours? I will be there mid-Dec. and am trying to plan, but without knowing which days MK closes early for Very Merry Party and knowing which days the parks will be open late, advance planning isn't really possible. I did buy park hoppers, so I can be spontaneous if needed.
But, it is so latefor us early bird people! Especially with kids. We had the opportunity to attend extended evening hours, but were so tired and worn out by dinner, we gave up on the idea of going. I might try a trip where we do only evening hours, and save our energy and feet.
Heading to go get Dole whips now and we are blaming you guys! Hopefully they have coconut dole whip at the farm that sells them near us 😂

Question. If I use DVC rentals for my stay and then buy my tickets on the Disney website will I have to make park reservations for my tickets since technically it was not an “add on” when booking my stay.

If you did Virtual Queue during regular park hours can you do it again during the Extended Hours? Also the Swan Hotel is included in this perk and typically much less expensive than other resorts considered Deluxe.
