    Just a suggestion, you could keep your Etsy shop open, but just sell digital products. You don't have to ship anything but could still earn some extra money!

    Hi Natalie. To the point you made about not focussing on debt just now… totally agree. Those who commented on that decision have their hearts in the right place, but even the ‘guru’ Dave Ramsey advises people in the position you’re in to pause debt payments and stockpile cash.
    Then, once baby is born and the dust has settled (so after you’ve used what you need to get through the initial upheaval) you can either continue to spend it as needed, or, if not needed, dump everything but the £1000 starter emergency fund on to the debt at that point. Either way, you either end up putting it on the debt anyway (just later on) or you at least don’t increase the debt because you had those savings. You’re doing the right thing.

    I think many of us are worried about the interest rate on debt one. There is a Canadian show called till debt do us part. Maybe you can binge while on mat. Leave. It opened my eyes to so much.

    I never mind your long videos at all. Your planner is beautiful and I’m looking forward to seeing you achieving all the goals you have set up. Working a day or two on maternity sounds great but don’t run yourself ragged either. You know yourself how time flys by with kids. I will be here cheering you on and holding you accountable too. I did the penny savings challenge and started with the highest amounts too. Just do what you did before mark them off every week instead of every day. Have a great week. Mary, Joes wife 🙇‍♀️👏💪👍🙏💐🌈💷

    I think debt one, because of the interest rate, is the one that concerns people. Other than that, your plan sounds great and I hope your partner is able to help side hustle as well!

    Your dedication to your family Natalie is incredible. I know you feel like youve got yourselves in a mess so you have to fix it, but a lot of people in your position would just keep their heads in the sand. And you're about to pop and have a chest infection - and youre STILL making videos and planning your way out. Amazing 😍 you've got this 💪

    Hi! Wanted to pick up on the point you made around not focusing on debt right now. I understand the people who have brought that up but, to my view, you and the family are in financial survival mode right now - you’re completely right to focus on just trying to avoid actively going into further debt by building up some cash to hand, rather than trying to substantially improve the situation right now.
    With everything going on, course correcting is just perhaps going to be slower than one would hope!
    I have such genuine sympathy - I despair at the state of maternity pay in this country, it infuriates me no end.

    • @fullmooneve1651
      @fullmooneve1651 11 днів тому +1

      I agree. How are companies allowed to only provide statutory maternity? Insane 😔

    • @maggiefriend2146
      @maggiefriend2146 11 днів тому

      @@fullmooneve1651mine will be an unpopular slant no doubt. However, shoot me down in flames. Being in business is also hard. Companies have increased costs and reduced customer numbers wanting their products and services. The number of firms closing down, reducing staff numbers and struggling to keep solvent is deeply worrying. It’s doubtful anything will improve in the near future. The finance companies and banks are also struggling with people who cannot make their payments. It’s tough right now. Borrowing money is sometimes unavoidable but is best only a last resort.

    Natalie, there was another budget or I was watching that was having some financial issues and we all played her playlist even if we were sleeping at night to help her increase her revenue. Can you put everything you have into our playlist and all of us can start watching your playlist so that it will boost your ad revenue increase! The other budget was getting I think between her videos that people were watching and playing her playlist I think she was averaging around 800 American dollars a month doing this please put your older videos into a huge playlist along with these videos and let us help you by watching your older videos so you can have the monetization at revenue from those videos just make sure they’re all monetized! 9:06

    Dave Ramsey, who I would think knows a lot more about finances and debt than the average person commenting on UA-cam videos, recommends exactly what you're doing. £/$1,000 in the emergency fund FIRST. Then throw as much as you can at debt. You're on Dave's baby step 1, which seems a very logical place to start!

    I was one who thought you should focus on debt 1 over an emergency fund but after hearing you explain your emergency fund and maternity fund and that paying off debt one would only save you a small amount each month, I totally agree with your goals now. Do you use a lot of cash or card? I have a separate account which I transfer spare change into and have a pot at home for coins. I know on a tight budget you may not be able to do this but it does very slowly add up and could help ❤

    Keep an additional highlighter color so you can do your side hustles in that color so anytime you get paid from either Etsy, UA-cam or any other side hustle or extra shifts at work go ahead and add that into another color so you can represent that when you get paid on that particular time

    The only problem I see in goal number 1 is debt 1. I think given the interest it will grow if you dont pay it. So if you dont make any extra payments, in february your debt will have gone up

    One suggestion is why don’t you open a basic Monzo account, put a link at the bottom of your videos and mention that you and the new customers get £5 each. I know another cash stuffing channel does this and she makes money from it each time..

    That you you don't have money just sitting around, and debt n°1 doesnt go up because of interest

      @@Charlotte-ti2yk It's a bit cruel. Their situation is not that bad. With a few more videos, YT will pick up soon, and the budget planner and Etsy shop will bring some income, too. Some costs can be easily cut out temporarily.
      It's a bit of a mess now, but she showed before, how focused and organised she can be regarding finances.
      They will be back on track soon.
      But newborns are newborns only for a very short time and nothing can bring that time back.
      And she said in the video, that she would be able to do a couple of shifts later on.

    Dave Ramsay's baby step number1 is to save a$1000 emergency fund. Can you work one weekend day a week and your husband stay with the kids? If not he needs to pick up weekend work. Watch the grocery budget.. Snack foods really kill a budget. The kids will live without snacks. If your not a good cook work on scratch cooking, better for everyone's health.
    As for big pickle do you have a horse riding program for special needs kids? Here in the USA we have then and they are free or on a sliding fee scale, as they fund raise. I have volunteered at a local center to me for years and the horse therphy really helps children with many different disabilities.
    Are their companies you could work from home for every week like Amazon or maybe a airline. Look into some of those.
