Great detailed tutorial, as However, I have two questions I’m hoping someone can answer: 1) If i am laying down a simple 12 bar 1-4-5 blues and i give it a few chords, how will the bass line know to play thru the whole progression, including a turnaround? Hopefully, I wouldn’t need to add each element as a separate part. 2) If i was using this to save presets for playing live with my small trio side project, am I only able to save 12 songs at a time? Thanks.

Thanks. I actually did this with the Headrush pedalboard and the setup would be about the same with the POD go as far as the routing goes. Watch this and just make the same connections with the POD and that should do it. ua-cam.com/video/wiMYyrdekW4/v-deo.html
You should do a sound test between fx send and just use in chain... my test showed I don't need extra leads of the Fx send as made no difference in sound or tone. How about others ???
I use the trio plus, I would love to see a demo of an fx setup. I use chorus (boss), organ (C8 & C9), and a nice delay pedal in my fix mix. I still keep the loop recording simple, but I’d like to see someone else’s mix setup and tips on this.
@@ThePedalGuy Yes I did. I have an unusual setup in that my effects setup starts with a Boss AD3 for acoustic guitars. This has a (non adjustable) compression system built in, to help with the piezo problem in acoustic guitars (both have decent Fishman preamps). I think that the Trio plus may be better suited to my electric Fender Jazzmaster than the acoustics. Here’s my dilemma. When I loop record through the FX set up. My Fender still goes through the Boss and gets a piezo treatment. Do I need to bypass the Boss with my Fender?
@@rickpockrandt8237 I bought a Key9 and because the looper dial is in same track as my lead means my modulating organ that I have as a RnB backing is in same space as my lead. The output of modulating rhythm shared with buzzing lead doesn't gel well. Do I need to send my lead through the effects send so that the looper goes through the channel with the bass and drums? If it does, I will be pretty amazed.
I’m so new at this, question? Can you store a lot of songs on the trio plus and if so how many and also how would you know what songs are where and how to retrieve them.
I'm assuming that the initial notes played into the Trio are root notes to represent the chords - is this correct? Secondly, in the event of a solo act, One wants to get going as soon as possible, so I'm guessing that you would at least have to sing the song and the chorus through first with the guitar (and no band) so that the machine would have the progression before bringing in the bass and drums - is this correct? By the way, that's the best demo I've seen for the Trio.
I've just bought the trio plus band creator, I have it set up with an boss od-200 send and return loop, it all lights up when turned on but there's no sound passing through to my amp I'm using a marshall code 50, I have also tried just incase it don't work with modelling amps, tried a small 10 watt cheap straight forward amp, it's set up guitar-guitar in , fx send - input od-200 output od 200- fx return. amp out to amp. Tried a hard reset as explained on your video here, thanks for that btw it is very informative, still doesn't work no sound, should there be a signal sent from guitar in to amp out to amp that I can hear or do i have to teach the band with no idea of what I'm playing other than from the strings off my strat? Any feedback would be nice. thanks, Mike.
You may have your connections not quite right here. Did you watch my video on using the FX Loop with the TRIO? If not, that would be a good place to start.
Hi thanks for your reply very grateful 🙏. Even with the guitar in with no external effects pedals on the fx loop and only set up the most simple way guitar to guitar in the amp out to marshall code amp (putting reference to the type of amp as it might be helpful for someone else) the trio plus band creator still only gives me a short light show and zero sound passing through before any genre or timing style is selected Even with strumming a tune a simple 1 2 3 4 ,then stop learning which it should just on rock genre 4/4 be able to learn and produce a drum beat and bass line, I was hoping there would be a software firmware update solution on the harman site for patches like that and after downloading the trio manager and updater to no avail, it shows no up dates or driver software user settings to re-install if that was the issue but it shouldn't be if when booting up after powering up the light's do they're thing showing all systems ready so I'm stumped at this one, never had this issue with pedals before. Any ideas would be much appreciated man 👍
@@ThePedalGuy Ahh I see. Another question if it's ok. As you suggested it's better to program it with notes. If you was to play them particular notes in a full tone or two higher or perhaps a higher octive would the machine learn those notes and play them back in a higher pitch or octive also? Thank you.
Can the effect return jack be used as an aux in? If not, any way to aux in? Does the Trio+ include any amp modeling - even just a decent amp sound through the headphones? Thanks!
There are some "amp" inside of the TRIO plus. They are very simple though. I would suggest watching my quick start video on the TRIO Plus to help you out.
I installed a new sd card. One within the correct parameters. And everything is fine until I go to use it after it's been powered down. Question: Sometimes as i create a progression, i may want the Bass guitar and Drums to "crash or hit" on say the 'up beat' of the 4th beat of a measure. any suggestions or insight?? thanks for creating all the great pedal content...
Is it possible to to get a count in, and play live, a 4 bars lead intro, then have the bass and drums and any loops you've created come in at the correct time? Or is there another work around you'd could suggest? I have searched all over the place for a solution, but can only get the drum stick count in for the Trio Plus to to begin all parts created. Hope you have the time to look at this. Regards Ron
So is the only way you can see this live guitar intro working, is to buy the FX3X, then setup an intro part with bass & drums only with a count in, then Start the Trio+ wait for the count in, start playing the guitar part, and simultaneously press the mode & down switches to mute the bass and drums for that part, then go to the verse part?
Hi there, I'm trying to help a friend set up his Trio Plus. When I switch on all of the parts lights are flashing red. I don't seem to be able to select a part, genre or style. Any suggestions?

Hi Thanks for the great tutorials! Whenever I use the FX loop on my Trio+ everything works fine except when I try to record a loop on top of the learned part, I see that the looper light turns into solid red and records but when it comes to playback I do not hear anything, even when I unplug the fx loop. But my previously recorded loops without Fx loops connected work totally fine. any Idea?
I just got this pedal and I my guitar in the guitar in and the amp out to my amp. When I press the band button the light flashes rapidly , i strum the hit the band button again and nothing happens. Am I missing something?
Hi I have a trio but when I switch it on the red lights just keep going round and round. When I do the setting back to factory setting as you have shown how to do on you trouble shooting but nothing changes the lights keep going round and round. Can you advise please Ady In England. Thank you
I would probably reach out to Digitech support on this. Just make sure you're using the correct power supply. Digitech pedals tend to not play nice with others.
The problem with any looper pedal and including this one is that you really need two amps for your playing and the loops including the drum parts not to interfere with each other, now with clean setting is less a problem but with high gain settings it just doesn't work. hardly works with even two amps.
@@ThePedalGuy HI there, thanks so much for replying, so an amp with an aux input, then I will need a converter , because aux is an 1/8 inch and the Trio has only quarter inch inputs, then I go from the amp aux input to the amp input of the trio ? thanks so much. cheers from vancouver, canada.

Help what am I doing wrong? I created a song with 5 parts. I’m having a hard time with the drums giving me a beat that is not similar to the previous part. Every time I create a new part it gives me a different style of drum beat even though it says I’m in the same genre and style as the previous part. I tried playing it slower and even with less more simple strumming patterns even just a straight 4 strum and I cant get my 5th part to match the drums on the previous parts. What am i doing wrong?
There is a way to fiddle it if you are recording. You teach the drum and bass parts, then use the headphone output Jack to record to a DAW. If you turn down the bass, record the drums, and then turn down the drums and record the bass, you can even have them on separate DAW tracks. And as an added bonus, the drum track comes out as stereo by using this method. It really is a fantastic pedal!
MY Trio+ does not recognise SD Cards class 10 of 8 Gb, 16 Gb. I tried different brands, No result. After formatting - Trio Plus blinks with LED line of red. Can You, please, advise a hint: what is the problem? P.S. Old cards work fine.
@@ThePedalGuy Thanks for your reply but I still don't how the trio can determine the difference between a major chord and a minor chord when you stick to the tonic and leave out the flat 3rd.
Pedal guy thanks for all the info. I'm having a problem with the pedal I can't grasp... I'm trying to build a simple 8 bar intro in 4x4 time. I simply want to create the first rhythm guitar loop, over the full 8 bars and then overdub guitar parts every (second) measure, playing that to the end, right before the original first guitar loop starts, but everytime I get to the 3rd or 4th overdub if I want to re-record it, because I made a mistake, it won't let me. It won't even let me erase it! Why? Am I confusing it? This is the second pedal I've tried it with and the same thing. I thought the manual said you could use unlimited overdubs, recorded on top of the original loop? I've read the manual as far as how to get rid of an overdub and how to restore it, but I just can't understand what I'm doing wrong. Please help? Thanks
Hi Tommy. I’m having a hard time understanding the issue here. Have you watched my vids on creating parts? Each trio song part can be as long or as short as you want. You can also change the tempo and time sig if you want.
@@ThePedalGuy I called digitech and they told me I prolly accidentally armed/recorded, the overdub (SETTING) AFTER the very LAST overdub I recorded. Meaning you can only correct or re-record the CURRENT overdub you've made a mistake on. All the rest of the overdubs BEFORE that become layered on top of the original loop and cannot be removed. Thank God I finally figured this out!
They still sell it but they have never had any updates they promised at NAM, 99 percent of this product is in somebody's closet because there was never a guide of how use it that was comprehensive

More great info, thank you!
You bet!
I use the trio plus, I would love to see a demo of an fx setup. I use chorus (boss), organ (C8 & C9), and a nice delay pedal in my fix mix. I still keep the loop recording simple, but I’d like to see someone else’s mix setup and tips on this.
Thanks. Did you watch my video on this topic? ua-cam.com/video/hypwY2dEEAA/v-deo.html
You can store 12 songs per SD card. Watch my entire TRIO playlist and it should answer all your questions
@@ThePedalGuy thank you
I'm assuming that the initial notes played into the Trio are root notes to represent the chords - is this correct? Secondly, in the event of a solo act, One wants to get going as soon as possible, so I'm guessing that you would at least have to sing the song and the chorus through first with the guitar (and no band) so that the machine would have the progression before bringing in the bass and drums - is this correct?
By the way, that's the best demo I've seen for the Trio.
Can I send the mixer output to my effects return on my amp?🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

Any ideas would be much appreciated man 👍
Great vid love this machine can you alter the pitch of the bass?
No. Once it's programmed in it can't be changed.
@@ThePedalGuy Ahh I see. Another question if it's ok. As you suggested it's better to program it with notes. If you was to play them particular notes in a full tone or two higher or perhaps a higher octive would the machine learn those notes and play them back in a higher pitch or octive also? Thank you.

Regards Ron
If you use a song structure, that might work but you'll need to adjust your process a bit. This might help ua-cam.com/video/ZEU8w00zIvM/v-deo.html
So is the only way you can see this live guitar intro working, is to buy the FX3X, then setup an intro part with bass & drums only with a count in, then Start the Trio+ wait for the count in, start playing the guitar part, and simultaneously press the mode & down switches to mute the bass and drums for that part, then go to the verse part?

same problem here, did you find a solution? thank you
?
Can I use the Trio with just Headphones
It do I have to plus it into the amp
Yes there is a headphone output. I would suggest watching my trio series to answer these questions.
The problem with any looper pedal and including this one is that you really need two amps for your playing and the loops including the drum parts not to interfere with each other, now with clean setting is less a problem but with high gain settings it just doesn't work. hardly works with even two amps.
If you have an amp with an Aux input you can use both Trio outputs with one amp.

Is there anyway to output Bass and Drums separately?
Unfortunately no.
@@ThePedalGuy Thanks for letting me know.
