A pre-tax salary of $90 000 is not terrible but it certainly would not make one rich in any major urban center in the country So where did you find that teachers are top 10 earners? According to the site BScholarly Canada has pretty good student success and places them at 3rd place. So what are you seeing that is showing students in Canada are not among the top 10?
As someone who works in a school division and am around teachers and students everyday, they deserve nothing, there are plenty of good teachers but way too many bad ones. If they clear out the bad ones and corruption they may deserve an increase
I think get rid of the bully teachers first. You got people teaching that want to give kids bad marks and refuse to support them on their journey. There’s some cowards teaching right now. There are also a rare few who genuinely care about their student and the future of everyone in the classroom including those who struggle.
Grade the teachers. Allow enough tested metrics to show what each has for strengths & weaknesses and which ones are just incompetent. Pay the good ones more and the ones that just barely qualify less. There ! The amount of new teachers vs administrators is sickening over the last 50 years and an obvious exploitation of the system.
I was teacher in my country of origin walk three miles every between the trails (beautiful maya forest) I had 52 children it a large clase , my paycheque was 1200 every two weeks. I work one year never got pay for that year, These teachers have everything they need, Shame, shame, shame, there are no love for teach any more..
Don’t put responsibility on the parents to help you. Good teachers deserve extra but there are way too many Crap teachers around the province. My child has been lucky

It is my understanding that these pirates are held in high regard by parents only, and this is because it makes them feel better that they are leaving their kids in the hands of professionals who have their kids well-being at heart. The reality is, however, that many teachers, who hold themselves in high regard, are merely average chumps and reprobates, who have their own well being as their first priority and will look for any excuse to promote their own issues, while relegating the kids to a back seat. I don't dislike them, but let's be real as to who we are dealing with.
Supply the parents with what you are asking for. Let the parents see how much of a raise you want and what you actually want. Show the parents that you are not hold our children hostage and stip usung civer up language like classroom "complexity".

Many of us support teachers. They are some of the most important parts of creating a good future for all of us.
