Yo talk about the new soccer team here in Richmond VA, the Richmond Ivy. They’re gonna play in the USL W League and if I do say so myself their jerseys are quite pretty
I was frustrated by three things-one, it feels like some teams got more attention/care given than other teams. Two-repetetition! Gotham and KC had very similar kits last year, utah has already had a dark blue mountain look, and Louisville cannot get away from diamond-like patterns. Three- sublety never reads well on a field! Reign and bay fc from distance are just solid colors.
--> I love tier lists! I think you've generally got the rankings spot on, but I'd know a bunch down by one tier (but no sh*te for me either; just a bunch more average). Here are a some specifics: --> 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗼𝗰𝗸-𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗼𝗼𝗼𝗼 𝗺𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗯𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿, especially if the lozenge shape were to continue through-out the shirt, with maybe a bit of a fade toward the shoulders. (But not the Washington Monument: I really don't like that style of more realistic graphics on a kit.) --> The Gotham shirt reminds me of the LA Galaxy kit, but this one is a much better execution. --> The Houston shirt is also better than its MLS counterpart. The "dots" really formed by stars, representing the city's importance as the aerospace capital with NASA. --> For Chicago, we've seen the same style on other kits, but these three colors are off-the-charts, really popping. Looks great, but I don't care for the design. --> Even the player modeling Portland's shirt looks very bored. --> The Louisville kit is great .... but they missed a real opportunity to add a green polo collar (take a look at the promotional images). --> I do like San Diego; I don't like Orlando. What's the difference? I generally lean more toward geometric abstraction than toward realism. 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗹𝘆, 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗢𝗿𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 - which is the closest to where I live - will be getting a USL Championship (a Tier 2) team next year. I can't wait to see its inaugural kit. I really hope it goes with the Mardi Gras theme.
Thanks Nicholas! Yeah I had fun playing with the Washington design, you can't have such a good concept and boring kit ahah! And oooo, I look forward to seeing what New Orleans do! The USL has had some decent kits recently
New Yorker here who roots for Gotham FC - didn't even know the meaning behind the sash until now! That's really cool!
I love finding out about little design things like that 😁

My favorites
1. NC Courage (my team)
2. Kansas City
3. Portland Thorns
4. Angel City
Houston and Utah are pretty good as well
More US leagues next, you're right about USL kits being great so show everyone. Love what Forward Madison do in USL1 by the way.
