      Right on, I love picturing you hammering the pedals watching the little RZR scramble along the trails. You should check out the video where I try to do 50mph along some sand whoops at the Oregon Dunes... just to see if you can keep up on the exercise bike!
      What's keeping you off the trails, too snowy where you are?

      I've been really impressed with the reliability of my RZR so far. It had a gremlin with the transmission speed sensor where it wouldn't display speed intermittently for the first couple of rides but since then it's been bulletproof. A group of us just got back from a 2 day, 370 mile (600km) ride to explore a new loop trail.

    Great video. Did you have your suspension set soft or hard? Just trying to gage from how you were bouncing around if it has decent articulation

    • @cingham747
      @cingham747 2 роки тому +2

      It's as it rolled out of the showroom which is a fair amount of preload on the springs and middle of the dial adjusters. I've ridden it set like this all year but want to explore softer preload to access more of its travel.
      With a year experience on the machine I'm happy with how it rides and like that it's 50" wide but if you want better suspension go with the Trail S (60") or for real ride quality go to a machine with the rear trailing link suspension design which offers superior travel and comfort.

    How useful is the high range to low range difference?

    • @cingham747
      @cingham747 2 роки тому

      There is a large difference between high and low range in speed and belt wear. I used to have a Yamaha Grizzly so seldom used Low range due to the clutch/belt design being able to put up with much more abuse.
      The Polaris design requires you to use low range at low speeds or you'll burn your belt out and I've seen it firsthand where a Polaris quad was parked at the bottom of a short steep slope, the rider attempted to climb the hill in high range and all he got was a bunch of smoke as his belt slipped.
      On my machine high range will do about 105kmh (65mph) and low does 60kmh (37mph).

    • @cingham747

      I'm impressed with the engine braking so far, I had been riding a Yamaha Grizzly 550 for 10 years which had great engine braking and this is really similar. No problems yet with it but sadly it's only been out on 3 rides so far... too busy with all sorts of stuff.

      104kmh (65mph) on a fairly rough forest service road. May have gone a tiny bit faster but it was dancing around pretty good due to the short wheelbase. I don't have a windshield and was surprised at how much I was being buffeted by wind at that speed.

      I hear ya, I wanted to go to a different trail system where it would be mostly road riding but was outvoted by my buddies. I was trying to keep out of the throttle as much as possible but on snowy trails you have to get in it or be stuck.
      There is a wildly divergent range of opinions on how to break in an engine. Some folks say to baby it, some say giver'... I think the most consistent advice is to vary the throttle during the initial break in period.
