I live in Utah and had never experienced humidity until a couple years ago when we went East. It was record heat and humidity at the time. I will never forget the chocking feeling and being drenched in sweat a few minutes after going outside. I felt like I was dying lol. I will NEVER complain about our dry heat again.
I’d take SoCal dry heat any day. The worst humidity I experienced was in Japan 2019. It felt like the oven was turned on and somebody sprayed warm water on me.

Agreed.. nobody understands if your forced to exert yourself for long periods outdoors dry heat is far more manageable, cover up... Idgaf about being hot burnedskin or sticky but when your natural sweating mechanism cannot cool down in inner body temperature because of the humidity you facing health problems and an early death.. my blood would cool in 110 dry heat but it's impossible here in Florida. The nature of survey work requires long trips away from the vehicle with no AC in the jungle.. deal with it humans... If your on of the few professions that requires extended exposure then come talk to me at least we're on even playing ground .. these people probably rarely stood outside there homes before the heatwave forget swinging a machete for hours over hundreds of acres of undeveloped land.
I grew up and hot humid Houston too and i lived in las vegas and phoenix az......and i couldn't stand the dry heat.....it was so stuffy i could barely breath in it .....thats usually how it is for most ppl who grow up in humidity but luckily your body is built different ....i wish i was like you because i hate sweating all the time in humidity and having to take 2 - 3 showers a day lol u know the struggle here in southern texas.....but unfortunately i breathe better in humidity .....idk maybe i will have to go back to the desert cities and actually stay there longer ...maybe overtime i will be able to breathe decently with dry heat ....

I'm from HK. I once traveled to desert region in north west China. It was mid summer and I had no difficulty walking under the noon sun light. Hot yet comfy as long as you stay hydrated. My home city train me to be a hot tolerant machine I miss those hot dry air
As someone who has lived in New Mexico where it often gets above 100 degrees and now in Southern Alabama I will say they both are hot. Dry heat sucks is more tolerable but it sucks in its own ways. The humidity and heat in AL dosent really bother me until it hits above 90. In New Mexico the sun hurts my eyes more, gives me headaches occasionally, heats up my parked car more, and feels like the sun is frying you. The nights cool off and feel very comfortable. In Alabama the sun feels different. Not as intense but strong and hot in a different way. The worst part is dripping sweat and sweating through clothes after being outside for 5-10 minutes. The nights stay warm and humid.

Dry heat sure feels nicer. Currently, Britain is 20Celsius and 90% humidity and I'm not liking. Last week, it was 30Celsius but 25% humidity and I loved it. Humid air makes me ill.
The problem with the Midwest is that it gets like this in the summer (similar to the southern states). Humidity make the summer hot and sticky. Humility also makes the winter more cold than usual

Dry heat is much better I think. I've never really felt dry heat like in the desert because I'm from a tropical country, but as I typed this it's dry season, the temperature is 28C with 45% humidity, and it feels much more comfortable than 28C with 80% humidity in rainy season. I'd like to feel 45C with 28% humidity to really confirm it
I went to Vegas this summer and it was around 110 and I went back to south Louisiana where I lived and realized that 95 degrees with 85-100 humidity feels a lot worse
Let’s just agree we all have different skin types. Mine dries up easily especially out here in Arizona. My ideal environment is a more humid one than here and preferably cooler. Sounds counterintuitive but some other states humid can definitely be cooler than Arizona’s humid.
People who are saying, hot and humid air is better than hot and dry one, wait what, you guys surely haven't experienced both in your lifetime, humid one is like hell, its a natural torture on us, its way worse than the dry and hot air. It's literally uncomfortable because you would always think to jump in the water just to let your body shed the stickyness and the sweat that was holding the heat within the body. It feels great to see people who relate. I was born in a quite dry city and used to be comfortable (despite the heat) with the dry air, even dry hot air. You just know how to deal with it and after noon the sun gets less intense and life starts rolling back again. It’s so messed up with humid cities, the best time is the time of the least heat AND humidity which is usually early morning, since even night is very humid which makes it hot to walk or do anything.

When you’re in dry climates and hot desert, it’s like 105 degrees for like 4 months straight. Nothing but sun. Every surface is an excess of 20-30 degrees hotter than the temperature. I was in Panama for two weeks, 85-90 degrees and 85% humidity. It was an absolute vacation. I’d rather take humidity and clouds any day over dry heat and sun

I grew up in Riverside CA. The climate is very similar to Las Vegas . Very dry and hot. The humid places I've been to I've been to are the Philippines, Minneapolis, Houston, Orlando and Miami. I will never ever move to a humid state , country or city. I freaking hate it lol

First humid place I ever went to was Dallas, TX. I remember walking off the plane and about half way down the little hallways they extend out, the thick Texas air hit me and it felt so hard to breath for minute until my lungs adjusted. Kind of odd since I’m from Utah and the air is much thinner so it’s technically a lot easier to breath at the low elevation.
I'm gonna say dry heat is better, I live in western Nebraska, it's fairly dry but in the middle of summer I'd sometimes go to my friends cabin in south Dakota, and during the day its warm and sunny but at night it cools down drastically where as in my town in nebraska it doesnt really cool down that much and it's still fairly warm, south Dakota though is dry but it gets more rain in some parts, but yeah in south Dakota near Custer you dont really need AC in the summertime which is nice.
In Fort Lauderdale, Fl the air is thick and heavy with humidity but it’s something you get used to. Summer is around 9 months long and it’s consist lay between 85-97 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooler winter months may drop into the 70’s.
In my country, it's sooo hot and humid literally every single days per year. I can wash my hair before sleep and wake up to an oily scalp if I sleep w/o the fan or air con turn on. It's the worst when the power run out.

See this is why I am thankful to live in Alberta, Canada. It's not the heat that so bad it's that humidity. I will never forget my time visiting relatives in Tulsa OK during one of their heatwaves and they ended up dragging me into the house because I collapsed from heat stroke from servicing my uncles hay baler in the open sun.

I checked the weather history for Las Vegas. The highest recorded dew point for the month this video was uploaded is 72, which is nothing compared to living in the tropics. I feel these people though since the average dew point there is in the 30s lol.
Yeah, 72 degree dewpoint with a 105 degree temperature probably feels worse than a 77 degree dewpoint and an 85 degree temperature go run the calculations
when i visited my grandparents in mexico the humidity was way way worse than all the southern states it said it was like 90 but the humidity level made it feel like it was 114 it was so bad when i went to shower i was still sweating they had no a/c in the bathroom this was in sonora

Lived in Missouri all my life, the humidity was great for my garden; but you could never cool off, not even in the AC. Living in New Mexico, I don't see rust as much, able to cool off although it's even hotter. However the dry air is horrible for sleeping and gardening is almost none existent without constant watering.
Southeast Asian folk here. This April was hell. Temperatures hitting 35-37° here on top of 80% humidity. Can't imagine what the incoming El Niño has in store for us. The heat index approach 55° here. Here's the crazy thing about heat index. Once humidity gets to 100%, the heat index rises EXPONENTIALLY with temperature. Basically the heat index just doubled itself for every set number of degrees rise.
40 degree Celsius with humidity of 90% feels almost like 60 degree Celsius, unbearable and lots of peoples die. i m from west bengal India and i know how it feels. in Delhi its 40 degree Celsius and it doesn't feel hot at all due to dry air

It's like this most of the summer in Oklahoma. Today it was 97 degrees with a heat index of 109. The dew point was 78 degrees, which is described as "oppressive" and "unbearable." Believe it or not, Oklahoma is actually the fourth-hottest state in the country during the summer months.
Humidity is gross. I hate it. I’ll take a shower and feel like I need another one not too long afterwards.
I live in Florida. Don't talk to me about humidity. It's basically a sauna for like 7 months out of the year.
As someone who lives in Hawaii, don’t talk to me either. I know you Floridians feel with the humidity. We feel that way too lol. If you ask anyone from a humid place, they will tell you about it.
But it's better than 12 months of sauna like in my country. It's tropical, that's why.
I am living in Karachi Pakistan , and today here temperature is 40 degree Celsius, and humidity is 10% it feels like I am in microwave oven.
I'd rather go for dry heat if I had to. Hot and humid is so terrible. I live in southern cost of India, where it can get 37c and 80-90% humidity. You'll be sweating af even in the morning itself 😖

@@stormtech8010 Maybe the percentage is wrong at that particular temperature. What I meant is, it is still hot and humid af. For example, currently the temperature is 26, but feels like temperature is 31🥴

When you’re in dry climates and hot desert, it’s like 105 degrees for like 4 months straight. Nothing but sun. Every surface is an excess of 20-30 degrees hotter than the temperature.
I was in Panama for two weeks, 85-90 degrees and 85% humidity. It was an absolute vacation. I’d rather take humidity and clouds any day over dry heat and sun

You have a constant breeze by the edge of the sea so it feels 1000x better than being inland

Anabatic winds which blew over the Tian-Shan mountain range in Kyrgyzstan, really made made summers cool, as we played in the Chu Valley in Kyrgyzstan. High temperature and low humidity definitely trumps high humidity/ low temperature. It's just Boyle-Mariotte's Law.

I grew up in Riverside CA. The climate is very similar to Las Vegas . Very dry and hot. The humid places I've been to I've been to are the Philippines, Minneapolis, Houston, Orlando and Miami. I will never ever move to a humid state , country or city. I freaking hate it lol

First humid place I ever went to was Dallas, TX. I remember walking off the plane and about half way down the little hallways they extend out, the thick Texas air hit me and it felt so hard to breath for minute until my lungs adjusted.
Kind of odd since I’m from Utah and the air is much thinner so it’s technically a lot easier to breath at the low elevation.

I'm gonna say dry heat is better, I live in western Nebraska, it's fairly dry but in the middle of summer I'd sometimes go to my friends cabin in south Dakota, and during the day its warm and sunny but at night it cools down drastically where as in my town in nebraska it doesnt really cool down that much and it's still fairly warm, south Dakota though is dry but it gets more rain in some parts, but yeah in south Dakota near Custer you dont really need AC in the summertime which is nice.
I rarely have had dry heat before. All i know is above 30 degrees with humidity, doing anything is just impossible
In Fort Lauderdale, Fl the air is thick and heavy with humidity but it’s something you get used to. Summer is around 9 months long and it’s consist lay between 85-97 degrees Fahrenheit. The cooler winter months may drop into the 70’s.
I'm from the Caribbean what is this summer you speak of? We only have two seasons here drought season and falling ocean season.

In my country, it's sooo hot and humid literally every single days per year. I can wash my hair before sleep and wake up to an oily scalp if I sleep w/o the fan or air con turn on. It's the worst when the power run out.

See this is why I am thankful to live in Alberta, Canada. It's not the heat that so bad it's that humidity. I will never forget my time visiting relatives in Tulsa OK during one of their heatwaves and they ended up dragging me into the house because I collapsed from heat stroke from servicing my uncles hay baler in the open sun.

Humidity feels so much worse. When I went to Dallas Texas it was close to 100 degrees but in Chicago 85 degrees and humid feels way worse because of all the sweat

It's so obvious.. humidity is far worse and most people complaining about these "heat waves" have no clue. professions that require intermittent exposure ehh a little bit but those few that require continual long term exposure far away from a vehicle in the Florida jungle surveying hearing people complain about 110 deg dry heat is laughable.. come out here where you sweat so much your natural cooling mechanisms fail surrounded by vegetation exerting yourself for 5 years see how long you last. I'll be fortunate to make it to 40 🙏

It seems to me that humidity is rising all over the world. Or the older I get, the worse I endure it. It just got hard to breathe in the summer. I don't understand people who like humid climates. It is very difficult to breathe and constantly as if there is not enough oxygen.
Live next to Houston ... where the whole concept of evaporative cooling is a joke. Been to Las Vegas in the summer and Park City in the winter. Makes me want to move anywhere.
try having eczema all over your body and it being 110 degrees out with only %10 humidity and you literally have to carry a water jug around all day like a fucking purse or you’ll get heatstroke and die

I checked the weather history for Las Vegas. The highest recorded dew point for the month this video was uploaded is 72, which is nothing compared to living in the tropics. I feel these people though since the average dew point there is in the 30s lol.
Yeah, 72 degree dewpoint with a 105 degree temperature probably feels worse than a 77 degree dewpoint and an 85 degree temperature go run the calculations

when i visited my grandparents in mexico the humidity was way way worse than all the southern states it said it was like 90 but the humidity level made it feel like it was 114 it was so bad when i went to shower i was still sweating they had no a/c in the bathroom this was in sonora

Just left Phoenix AZ so glad to feel water in the air. Sick off the dry heat and dust dust dust. My forehead has wrinkles from the dry heat. At 34 thats some bull cant wait for this moisture to be on my skin. Az summers are 117-123 dry as hell its self you can have it. Im out and in Texas north of Houston

Where I am in Alabama, It remains about 65% humidity in day, and above 90% at night.
If you love to swim then higher humidity is your friend, It could be 105°f but with low relative humidity you’ll instantly feel cold as soon as you get out of the water.

It’s weird some people prefer dry heat . I lived my life in dry heat city but whenever I travel to humid places my dry nose and breathing quality becomes much better in a humidity area !

I agree I went to Hawaii for vacation and as soon as I got there I was instantly able to breathe better and my skin got way better and wasn’t as dry as when I was in California and as soon as I got back to California and got out of the plane I felt all the moisture instantly get sucked from my body like I just entered a vacuum chamber
Lived in Missouri all my life, the humidity was great for my garden; but you could never cool off, not even in the AC. Living in New Mexico, I don't see rust as much, able to cool off although it's even hotter. However the dry air is horrible for sleeping and gardening is almost none existent without constant watering.

This April was hell. Temperatures hitting 35-37° here on top of 80% humidity. Can't imagine what the incoming El Niño has in store for us. The heat index approach 55° here.
Here's the crazy thing about heat index. Once humidity gets to 100%, the heat index rises EXPONENTIALLY with temperature. Basically the heat index just doubled itself for every set number of degrees rise.
It gets that bad in Korea and Japan too but never in April that is whack I feel for you man 😢
40 degree Celsius with humidity of 90% feels almost like 60 degree Celsius, unbearable and lots of peoples die. i m from west bengal India and i know how it feels. in Delhi its 40 degree Celsius and it doesn't feel hot at all due to dry air

Once it gets over 105 in AZ you can't even go outside and it's hot 24 hrs straight. Humid places usually cool down at night or rain.
Unfortunately, nights usually stay hot and humid where I live on the Gulf Coast. The heat index has been rising above 110. It’s miserable. Both types of heat suck.
