You just have to search for the folder. If you extract the file at your download folder, it could be at the very bottom of the folder (depends on when the route creator created the file). I suggest you extract to your folder because it is easier to find
Well you could copy the object, route and sound folder to the railway folder, but the route folder could be messy once you have many addons installed. Same as the train folder. You can also do it your way, as long as you put the correct file into the correct folder.

It's in your openbve directory. For example, "C:\Program Files (x86)\openBVE\OpenBve-32.exe"
