I really do like this doctor. I follow her Podcasts even though I am vegan. I think vegans have overlooked the necessity for protein and dismissed it. I can’t eat animal, it’s just gross to me but I do supplement and I have to eat processed vegan proteins to get adequate protein on a daily basis with all the amino acids. I have to go keep track of everything and make sure I’m doing it right. I feel so much better since taking my protein intake more seriously and I wish more vegans would do this.

Supporting what Dr Lyon says about the rift between animal plant divide going back centuries, this was the core to the rift between Cain and Able. Cain offered plant sacrifices to God and Able offered animal sacrifices to God. So, it goes back to almost the beginning of time. Love this discussion!!!

I’m a fan of Cain. I don’t believe in any deities though so it doesn’t matter. Whole food plant based vegan organic and fitness devotee. Be kind to animals.
If God is your father what father asks for scarifies demands fear and worship lol. Some daddy!

what is dr. Gabrielle's age? I'm surprised about the caffeine. It took me years to get off coffee. Every time I drank it, which was less than 1/4 of a cup per day, I felt so dehydrated and my stomach hurt. It's very acidic. I read a book years ago called, "Caffeine, wake up to America's number one drug," and there was a lot of evidence in there to support that coffee contributes to high blood pressure and cholesterol.

Wish you had put Dr. in front of her name, or you could put D.O. after her name, because some people know what that means. It means a fully qualified physician licensed to practice medicine in the United States. She is a fully licensed physician as recognized in all 50 states. It's a real slap to just list her in your title with no credentials.

Jennifer, I hope you read this carefully. You do a great job on your podcast. But as soon as the conversation went to "a real doctor," you lost my interest. I understand that your intent may have been to give credit to Gabrielle's education, and deservingly so. But all you really needed to do is highlight the fact that she's educated and has training in science-backed and peer-reviewed information. Saying she's an "MD," with a degree from whatever medical school, would have been fine, more than sufficient. What you created was a multi-decade long debate, based on sheer ignorance, that anything other than a medical doctor is not a real doctor. Education is valuable, period. Whether you have a PhD, ScD, MD or OD is less relevant than the credibility of the individual, and an "MD" DOES NOT NECESSARILY MAKE A PERSON MORE CREDIBLE! We've seen this play out over decades. Perhaps we should do away with the "doctor" designation in podcasts. We all are, to some extent, limited by our own education. And this does not refer to a lack of education. So, in actuality, for me, when you started this podcast with an ignorant statement, based on ignorant thinking, that plays more to drama than sincerity and honesty, you told me the substance of your content here was flawed from the start; it is potentially misleading from the beginning. Cut the drama. Medical doctors are well-educated and deserve credit. But not all are worth their salt, and credit comes from the individual, not the title. TO INFER SOMETHING LESS TO YOUR AUDIENCE, SOME OF WHOM MAY NOT REALIZE, IS MISLEADING ON YOUR PART.

Her education is important but the conversation stating she weighs 3 lbs was insulting. I’m married to a doctor and have respect for their desire to heal but insurance and hospital business make doing their job limited to what they are allowed to do and influenced by corporations who fund programs. Money talks and dictates programs and the results of studies. I gave up processed foods, refined sugar, alcohol, and I’m certified in whole food plant based nutrition, a licensed psychotherapist who knows physical health dictates a lot of mental health and that has to do with their diet. Studies show protein is over rated. We need a certain amount and it is in everything We are not meant to eat the flesh of animals. We didn’t eat only animals!!! We are more like apes who are vegan. Protein is in many things like grains and beans. We don’t need the flesh of animals. Dr Gregor, Dr Klapper dr T Collin Campbell. Rich Roll and other athletes. She infuriates me w her false claims. Talk studies peer reviewed
Nuts and seeds tofu, beans, grains, leafy green vegetables are key. I do Pilates everyday She calls whey a high quality protein!!! Most of society is lactate intolerant so a mama cow has a calf they take the baby away from its mom and make her lactate for 8 years! Alone in a stall so You can have her breast milk meant for a calf with growth hormones fat and sugar in your coffee. Cruel and stupid. The cortisol levels cause changes in the breast milk they give this poor female hormones if she doesn’t produce enough milk and antibiotics that you will ingest Enjoy that coffee. Yuk! Insensitive selfish vane really don’t care about cruelty in the world.
I agree we need to exercise. Children have growth plates if you push too hard they will damage themselves. Talk to a pediatrician. “She thinks it’s okay”
Dr Klapper saw the fat being pulled out of the arteries of people. NO don’t eat shit impossible burger or McDonald’s eat beans grains and leafy green veggies .
Eating animal flesh raises your cholesterol and you risk dying of a heart attack. Watch Cowspiracy, Seaspiracy, What the Health, Forks Over Knives Animal flesh we are not meant to eat. Even the government changed the pyramid to protein instead of meat. How old are these woman?

I’m not sure the cows, chickens and other animals we currently eat today would exist naturally without the genetic changes we made in them. I would say calling meat natural is not really based on reality. I mean, if you want to go hunting and eat wild game, then we could maybe say that. Focusing on things being natural is kind of delusional. also shitting on vegan meat alternatives because of the ingredients list is kind of silly, specially with all the things done to animals in factory farms, which is what most people can afford. I would encourage people on this topic to stick to what they know which is the best argument they can make for eating meat, meat has no fiber it’s higher in protein without the carbs. The derail of their conversation really takes away from their point.

I am lucky. I do follow the adage of a gram of animal protein per pound of body weight. I get my beef from a local rancher who is also a friend. Eggs from my neighbors hens, etc. I love fruit and vegetables. Not so much grains. I barely eat anything with a label. My question for you is: Is there not a way that you can combine whole plant foods to get to a complete protein profile? Is it a cumbersome process? Or do you eat processed fake meat products because you happen to love them (which I can understand)? If you do love that stuff do you eat often or is it more a treat?
